Now I see why people still piss on Dimarzio and keep supporting Seymour Duncans all these years. The punch is stronger on SD pickups. I might invest on these pickups when have the time and money to do so.

I always choose DiMarzio over Duncans. DiMarzios have better and more defined attack and warmer sustain. Duncans sound dirty like every EQ knob on the amp have been set to max that makes guitar sound with less definition.
Um, you'll have to lend BOTH guitars to me for, uh, a couple of months - yeah, that's it, a couple of months - so I can test them BOTH for myself, oh, uh, wait, what if I get it wrong? Make that a few years … then I'll get them back to you, I swear ;)

Ibanez and Dimarzio for me is the sound of guitar. Seymour is top but feels lonely side by side in this takes.

It's very interesting to hear the Custom 5 in your guitar. I like the Custom 5, but the Tone Zone is hard to beat for this style of music.

In the clean section it seems the Custom 5 has lower output. Have you tried raising the pickups in the RG8520ZD to get a fatter tone and more output?

I cannot say any of them is better than the other. They are just slightly different.
Relocate the plectrum to a variety of positions then compare. Tone is in the hands👐🏼

The Duncan's provide a more warmer rounder sound You can hear it in the attack

Seymour Duncan pickups sound a lot like David Gilmour.
Both great pickups but for this particular song the Duncan's have it. Just that bit smoother. I love Dimarzio's but they sound shrill here..
