You are a blast to watch and I appreciate the time you spend putting these videos together. You're living the good life and I appreciate you taking us along! I wish you wouldn't give the negative comments/ppl the time of day but hey, it's your channel. Keep up the good work for us jealous folks!
Hey man! Like your videos. I have wanted to RV it for sometime, but life is in the way. House, work, etc. etc... Anyway until i sell my house and work my ass off to feel financially comfortable to get out on the road, ill just keep watching your vids. Your vids kind of give me a feeling that I'm already out there. They have an informative yet personal touch to them. keep up the good work.
Love your channel Eric. I also fill my fresh water tank. The effect on highway mileage is minimal. I would rather have the extra water onboard any day. Give Jax a scratch on the head for me. He's too cute !
I don't waste any energy worrying about extra weight from storage tanks. To me, it's simply part of owning an RV. Empty the black & gray tanks when full and fill the fresh water tank when it gets low. Simple. Life goes on..
I agree. Some people travel from campground to campground, and don't have to keep their fresh water tank full, but those who boondock NEED to keep their freshwater tank filled. It is a necessity.
I agree with you, Eric. Stay stocked as much as possible whether it be water, gas, propane, food, clothes, etc. Fill up where it's cheaper even if you're half full. Shop where it's cheaper. That way you're prepared for any situation, whether it be good or bad. : )
When is the weight of Your RV to light? This would make for a great video: Gram Weenie - reducing the total weight of your RV. Weights - Travel Weight - vs - Boondocking Weight: is there a difference? Upgrades and Repairs - Should we be using dimensional lumber within our MOTOR homes - vs - is there a lighter way? Stress - can reducing weight improve longevity? Technology - Can the Information Highway reduce the weight of our RV's? This is just a few examples of what can be discussed.
Dude, you are the neatest folder of laundry that I have ever seen from a man. Wow, and you never missed a beat even with a cat demanding your attention. LOL! Jax you rule!
Eric, I think you are a real joy to watch live out your life. My parents, my children and I totally binge watch you and plan to all weekend!!! Ignore the haters!!!
Jax sure is a wonderful companion and I can see he is a great little laundry helper as well. We've been with Verizon for a very long time and have never been able to get unlimited data. We have two cell phones, a home phone, a mifi, and two galaxy pads with them which costs a boat load every month. All but one are into month to month now so I'm thinking it's time to bargain with them as we can now switch to another carrier w/o penalties. Thanks for the update and glad you got your squeak fixed.
my suspicion is you are correct on carrying water. My experience has been that I couldn't tell the difference mileage wise, whether my water was full or empty. It's like finding a fuel stop that is two cents a gallon cheaper, it's a so what, you are not going to save enough for a cup of coffee.
Cool that Leah got back to you. Sometimes things happen and we all learn from it. As for the tank issue, just do what you think works best for you. Everyone has their own ideas, probably based on their traveling/RVing habits and equipment. Lol at supposed 'bad shirt fold' after having folding one over top of Jax.
Hey Eric, Really like your videos,.... like the tin man said,...Oil Can, heheheheee,.. I agree with the gas, your RV probably weighs 3 tons or more and 20 gallons of water about 160 lbs so yeah crazy to worry about it. The biggest effect on Gas mileage at 60 mph would be wind drag anyways.
We're the same way when it comes to clothes! I don't want spend my time in the road doing laundry! I'm not a fan of public laundromats anyway! YUK!😜 Lovin all the button-down shirts, Eric. They look really nice! Funny watching Jax walk right over your folded clothes and then park his butt right in your way! Lol! Gotta love cats!😊
Eric folds clothes nicely. I was impressed how sharp your folds were while talking to us. I like the fancy shirts. yeah to Verizon for being customer service minded for you.
I think the water / fuel amount to carry mainly depends on the type of RV one has. Gas RV would be affected more by weight load than say a diesel pusher that has way more torque and horsepower than a gas engine.
+EVCarGuy Yeah in one of his earlier videos he mentioned it. Also said that if he could do it over he would not declaw Jax and that those that did the operation didn't really give all the information.
Even with a newer RV like mine there are always rattles and squeaks to be fixed. I think it has a lot to do with the RV manufacturers using the wrong (cheapest) parts for the job. Plus of course you are driving your house down the roads so there will always be something working it's way loose.
I love your videos! I just can't say enuff❣ So very informative and entertaining. Plus now I have a new way of folding my T-Shirts over my cat. Lol! Love Ya Eric!!
In your case, where you do not travel far each day, and boondock at night, sure, having lots of water is important. But if you are driving a long distance in a short time, say Michigan to Florida, you can save money and get better gas mileage by not carrying lots of extra weight. In that case you'd save. Once you get to where you want, fill up and head out to camp. It really just depends on how far you are tryring to get, and how quickly.
+Bruce McIntyre ____ With something like an RV there are 2 main components to overall mileage, (1) energy required to accelerate the mass up to speed, and (2) resistance going down the road. Yes, an additional 200 pounds of mass uses a bit more fuel to bring up to speed, but when you're adding that 200 pounds to a 6000 pound RV, the incremental fuel cost is minimal, especially if the total mass is kept at highway speeds, not constantly in stop and start traffic, or hilly terrain, or constantly changing speeds. Resistance going down the road can be broken into 2, aerodynamic drag, and rolling resistance on the tires. Of these 2, aerodynamic drag is by far the greater factor, by a wide margin. If you eliminate the tire rolling resistance, the fuel to keep that barn door of a vehicle going down the road at speed against the aerodynamic drag is the same if it weighs 1000 pounds, or 6000 pounds.
Eric, Here is a little food for thought. To save a bit of mess on your carpet with the cat nip. Get Jax a mouse with a pouch.. You can fill it with cat nip and close the Velcro closure. If he plays with it awhile, you can pick it up and roll it between your palms vigorously and the scent will return and he will have fun. You probably already knew this, but if not its a good suggestion.
I see we still have a few trolls hanging on, thank you trolls for supporting Eric. Oh and dang dude, you just turned 68,000 and now it is close to 69,000. Keep on, keeping on!
the difference in the water weight is about 160lbs. equal to 1 smaller person. would equal a very small mpg difference. Eric you are on point. your experience are a great value to many.
I'm with you on a full tank of water on any trip. There been many times on journeys where I decided to make an unscheduled stop for an extended period of time and the water sure came in handy. As for affecting or is it effecting milage, if its that bad I'll boot my significant other out and that ain't gonna happen. Why cause she just told me so.
I don't know if you see these old comments, or not, but I agree with you about filling the water tank. Some newer class A's have 70 gallon tanks! AND, it's suggested that you keep it full because the tank is at, or below, the frame, so the driving stability, in high winds, is actually improved. Love Jax.
wow...I feel like you may have herd my cry of the "oven racks" lol....I can't believe it was just that little door latch but we'll see next time your drive down even a slightly bumpy road. But thanks Eric for sharing the video and like always safe travels to you and Mr.Jax! 👊👍🍺✌
You are more crafty than I am. I would've given that squeak a shot of WD-40 and called it a day. The bowing shelf would've gotten to me, though. Love the way you fold shirts, that's how I do it, too, like them to be neat and unwrinkled. You can fold yours with a cat on your folding area, though, which was impressive. Always love watching Jax play.
I always fill up my water tank. Your saving in gaz for 20 gal is 1,4% if your Rv weights around 12,000 lbs. Thanks for the videos, I am in Canada so i get to 'see' the USA.
Hey man, just stumbled across your channel after watching some fishing vids from over here in the UK. The few I've watched so far, it certainly looks like you've got the life!! Well, you and Jacks! He a handsome cat you've got there. Me and some mates are looking to do exactly what you are for a 4-5 week holiday this coming summer, so you're really helping us out with ideas and pointers. Keep it up fella, looks like you're enjoying life to the full!
I agree with you about companies changing the deal. We have a mobile wifi gizmo with three. We only use it for navigating and checking emails when we are travelling. It is so useful and very reasonable price wise. Take care xxx
Master carpenter here Eric... Ha ha i finally get to teach you something... The grain in the plywood you were using has muck more strength just turning the shelf 90 degrees.
Eric for me cable internet and cell are only worth 20 bucks each if we the people where smart we would cancel all are service and watch those prices drop but know one will
Loved the Jax and the catnip scene. Here's a tip: Go to the vitamin isle at the supermarket. Get a bottle of Valerian root capsules. Open the capsules and use the powder in place of catnip for Jax. Valerian is so closely related (botanically) to catnip, that it has the same effect on cats. Much cheaper than catnip.
You sure do use a lot of bandwidth...Glad you do, your video quality shows. Top notch. We switched over to Verizon 4-5 years ago because it had the best coverage in the more rural state parks we like.
LOL.... Jacks lays and waits for the toy to come close to him.... Thanks for the rv tips for sure will help us when we own another one... Great tips!!! That sucks on the internet server... what a rip off...Jaxs helping you fold your clothes....Big hug of fluff is Jaxs lolo Great video! thanks for sharing...Happy trails Eric!
Eric, no one needs to tell you crap... Do whatever your doing.. it works for you man.... keep trucking and finding new places... Your on the road and living a dream most cant... be cool.. Keep them videos coming.
Of course you doing 50 miles a day it isnt gonna help your gas mileage but someone doing cross country over the long run it will help their gas mileage tons
hey Eric I understand that there are a lot of troll videos telling everyone lies about you.👎 I really live watching your videos and I hope you keep make videos!👍

When I saw kitty on the clean clothes & sitting on the edge of shirt I got distracted. I had a cat spray & ruin my new mattress & a suitcase with clothes. But awesome vid. thx for sharing.
If you are by a Home Depot, see if you can attach to their wifi. Our CG site is right behind one. I am a night owl, so I get great speed all night when I am have it virtually all to myself. Not too bad during the day, but sometimes times out.
We have grandfathered AT&T unlimited for 40 dollars a month. Was 35 a month but there is NO throttling and no speed slow down. It was a Cingular to start with. They can't legally throttle the data (just a little research on your contract). Glad you found you some true unlimited data.

Tip about getting the catnip smell on Jax's toys - re-use a plastic container, maybe like a 2 pound peanut jar with a screw on lid, put toys in the jar with catnip and tore them in there until play time.
Dang! Look at those folding skillz dude! Very nice! ---- I wish you could share more about the internet set up. For the work I will be doing on the road I am really going to need an unlimited option like what you seem to have acquired. I totally respect and understand why people don't want you to say anything, though. Completely makes sense.
Eric put catnip inside the toy so it does not get all over the floor. The smell of catnip alone is enough for cats, eating it does not increase the effects!
Jax is an internet star! Love the hug at the end!
Eric, I don't know if anyone has ever told you this but your clothes folding skills are top tier.
+mrdookiepotpie you say that like it's a bad thing.....
You are a blast to watch and I appreciate the time you spend putting these videos together. You're living the good life and I appreciate you taking us along! I wish you wouldn't give the negative comments/ppl the time of day but hey, it's your channel. Keep up the good work for us jealous folks!
Hi Eric. Thanks for the story.Today, I'm tidying up in my closet.
I could watch you fold shirts all day. You are so neat and tidy. Jax was so funny - he's such a lovely boy.
A properly folded cat is a must. LOL I loved the way Jax "helped" you to fold your shirts.
Thanks so much for the update, Eric. I too am always looking for a great nomadic wifi connection - although Canadian.
jax sitting looking out the window is hilarious - he is identical to my cat with markings and very nosey watching everything LOL
Hey man! Like your videos. I have wanted to RV it for sometime, but life is in the way. House, work, etc. etc... Eric folds clothes nicely. I was impressed how sharp your folds were while talking to us.

LOL, I love the way you continued to fold even though Jax high-jacked your folding spot LOL!!!
I think the water / fuel amount to carry mainly depends on the type of RV one has. Gas RV would be affected more by weight load than say a diesel pusher that has way more torque and horsepower than a gas engine.
Agreed the people that have that kind of thinking on water tanks are the same kind of people that drive across town to save 2cents on fuel
Jax doesn't have front claws? Huh! I've often wondered about that. Thanks for the video Eric! Another 15 minutes to relax during my day!
+EVCarGuy
Yeah in one of his earlier videos he mentioned it. Also said that if he could do it over he would not declaw Jax and that those that did the operation didn't really give all the information.

Love Jax!...He reminds of my Salem. Salem doesn't do leashes well though so we have to keep him inside. Oh yeah, Verizon rocks!
This channel gets better all the time , great video's !
That was a fun video. Just hanging out with Jax. He is just too funny.

awwwww Jax is super extra adorable today!!!!!
Great video, Eric! Thx
(And great shirt folding, btw!)

I feel so ashamed at how lousey I fold my husband's and kid's clothes after watching Eric.
Love your kitty. Kitty wins.
I love jax...Awesome cat...

The catnip scene with the music was hilarious!! Gotta see that again
Did I just see you successfully fold a shirt on a cat? That is too funny
That moustache really suits you.
You are more crafty than I am. I would've given that squeak a shot of WD-40 and called it a day. The bowing shelf would've gotten to me, though. I put some of my cats toys in a Baggie with catnip o they reek of it and they love them.
Heck, it's fun tryin to figure out how to save when ya ain't got allot to spend. That's all. Thanks for sharing...
the biggest way to affect your fuel mileage is by how you drive.
I fill my water tank with sparkling fresh mountain water and i don't know what it is but it improves my gas milage!
Eric , get ready for all of the Tolls when you hit the east coast
Enjoyed the vid Eric, thanks for the info on internet plans.
We have the same kind of internet :) we are loving it! we use over a terabyte a mth!
I always fill up my water tank. Your saving in gaz for 20 gal is 1,4% if your Rv weights around 12,000 lbs. Thanks for the videos, I am in Canada so i get to 'see' the USA.
It's funny seeing Jaxs help you fold shirts Lol......................
somebody should file a law suit for false advertising and bait and switch

LMAO!!! I had to watch that twice, you never skipped a beat talkin about wifi and folded a shirt right over the top of Jax..... now that was funny!!!!
Jax is a great help at folding clothes.
The strength of the board installed is also affected by the direction it is laid. Especially when it comes to the quarter inch panels.
you gotta love jax. i wish my cat was more loving
I can't believe I sat through your 17 minutes of talk. And I didn't even speed it up. Hey keep talking. It is a 2-way therapy.
Eric for me cable internet and cell are only worth 20 bucks each if we the people where smart we would cancel all are service and watch those prices drop but know one will

Interesting stuff, Eric. Thank you! :-)
I agree with your take on clothes and water!! Keep up the videos and Jax moments!!!
hey Eric my friend that foam filler will hold water in it so be sure to fix it a.s.a.p it tends to make wood rot faster . peace out bro
Eric, no one needs to tell you crap... Do whatever your doing.. it works for you man.... keep trucking and finding new places... Your on the road and living a dream most cant... be cool.. Keep them videos coming.
I drain my water tank so I can put more beer in the fridge
I agree with you on the water.

If the chassis is not overloaded then the amount of water or fuel makes very little difference, Think about it. TH-cam gangster. Big props
You need to give Jax a voice, he would make a great talkin cat. "Its my toy, give it to me, im high on catnip"
Glad you found you some true unlimited data.
great video. love the useful content
I'm with you on the whole laundry thing too. Alot of the nay sayers that advise to do this or do that is only because they have a disposable income and probably have an rv washer and dryer right along with a tow behind vehicle too. My water tank's always full too but I never fill both gas tanks. In short, do what works for YOU!

LOL, Fold your clothes before it wrinkles as it comes out of the dryer, Thanks for another video, Mort

Jax's opinion of of your current ISP?
cool..first:) Jax is soo neat:)
Thumbs up !
ENJOY....THE SIMPLE LIFE
I just love Jax, he is so cute!
Eric, report those knucklehaids to the FCC. That so called unlimited ISP.
Oh me, if Jax won't help make me smile, nothing will! Love him!
Eric put catnip inside the toy so it does not get all over the floor. The smell of catnip alone is enough for cats, eating it does not increase the effects!
Eating the catnip can help with digestion.
