I grew up in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and you will regret if you do not see some of it. It is absolutely beautiful......still God's country! Go into WI and then to the U.P of MI and down across the mighty Mackinaw Bridge. You could even explore Mackinaw Island. No automobiles allowed just horse and buggy or bicycles. But you can not beat their fudge and ice cream. YUMMY!!!

Hopefully you'll swing through my neck of the woods in Kentucky up near Cincinnati! There are some great country roads here in the bluegrass with amazing bourbon distilleries and state parks. Eric, two suggestions: purchase an EZpass for tolls ($40), I've heard you're charged less for tolls and it's more convienent. Also, if you're going to Chicago, there's a parking lot for oversized vehicles at 510 W. Taylor Street that's close enough to bike or walk to attractions downtown, but you have to reserve a space using the "SpotHero" app .. the app is free and the cost to park is reasonable. Spaces fill-up quick, so reserve well in advance.

Another good video full of information . We have had DirectTV for many years at home and on the road and other than costing a lot , the best company to deal with . We like that no matter where we are , all channels are the same . For about 10 years we have had Allstate roadside assistance and have never used it . We got it through KOA and it covers anything we drive , including my motorcycles . Jax and our cat , Simba look like brothers from another mother . A week until I head east myself . Have a good one .

I got rid of cable 2yrs ago and love it! I have Roku boxes for the tvs and we have Netflix and Hulu Plus. On Hulu we are able to keep up with all the current programming, just a day or two after its shown on cable. Roku also offers other channels like crafting, sports, news, fitness etc. Its great and I am saving so much $$$. I took my bill for cable and internet from $150/mo to $80 for the internet, Netflix and Hulu. Thanks for sharing and safe travels.

Glad to see you have good security!!! VERY happy to see Jax, he is a cutie!!!!!! About one year ago, I got rid of cable service for watching TV. I still have cable internet but not for TV. I have a new antennae for free TV channels & I have Netflix. I was able to get an Apple TV earlier this year. I am surprised at how much I LOVE my Apple TV!!!!!! I can watch You Tube or Apple TV or listen to music!! It did not take me long to figure out how to make it all work. The Apple TV comes with a remote or you can use your iPhone or iPod as a remote. This has been MUCH cheaper & better!!! This new set up allows me to view my content WHEN I want it instead of when the cable company 'allows' me to watch the content. So it puts you BACK in the driver seat, instead of the cable company in the driver seat!! Thank you for the great videos!! :)

Good luck with Good Sam , I'v had it now for 9 years and the wait time for them is well over 5 hours every time I'v called . The only reason I still have them is because I don't call them direct any more we call the nearest tow company and pay up front then send the bill in myself and they are quick to reimburse me .Just thought I would pass this on .

  • @Littlervrentals
    @Littlervrentals 8 ปีที่แล้ว

Hey Eric one way to limit problems when you need a tow or service is to tell dispatch that you want the driver to call you before they are in route this way you can discuss your issue with the driver and tell him or her what rig you have so they bring the right truck, the roadside dispatch in most cases knows nothing about towing, FYI I was Driver for AAA for 10 years.

If you eventually take 80 through PA, consider going to Knoebels amusement park in Elysburg. They have a campground. Free entry to the park and free parking for the amusement park. Just pay to ride or eat in the park. Upgrading a tv or monitor can also help with security cameras clarity because of the pixels. You really need eight cameras to cover the whole area. To have cameras cover cameras to prevent tampering. Try to cover all entry points with existing cameras. I like to have at least one camera that can be moved around depending on what I am trying to record. It also doesn't hurt to have a couple cameras with audio. You could also use cheap driveway sensors to cover areas. If you aren't already. Also secure the dvr.

Eric, I have Good Sam Travel assist. Don't do it Man! Nothing but problems! AAA mutch better service. I blew my transmission twice with in a month of each other. Being an allison transmission it was like pulling teeth to get them to tow it 41 miles back to the repair place to honor the warranty. Plus because I was on a main road they required Police to be at the location for safety. After about 2hrs. the cop got pissed because because of being a no show from the tow company. So they called a company and Good Sam didn't want to pay. The tow would have cost me almost $800. Needless to say I didn't have the cash. It took 4 hrs to get approval for the tow company to charge them. Total time broke down on the side of the road was close to 10 hrs from the first phone call. The second time took 4 days to get them to tow it back. I will never use GS travel assist again! All other services from GS are top notch. Good luck!

I have ROKU. There are different styles of "boxes" . The neatest one is the "stick" that you put in an HDMI slot. It has no wires and is not seen if the slot is on the back of the TV. It costs about $30, one time cost. Check it out at their website. You can watch TH-cam on it. You can add on extras like Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hulu, Acorn (British), etc. It's a good deal if it will work on your WIFI. There is also animal planet for Jax. They update streaming channels regularly.

There are Smart TVs that have all the apps loaded and do exactly what you are doing via switches/wi-fi receivers for less than $200 and you won't have the mess of cables and setting it all up. I have a 3 year old Vizio 24 inch that will link to my ATT hotspot and provide Netflix, Amazon, You Tube, etc, etc. Since you have an unlimited data account this won't apply, but for anyone else, you can adjust your quality from Low-Med-High in your account settings. On the Low setting it will come in at 480p and use up about 1/5th the data rate of HD settings.
Go back to OTA TV, I've had zero problems with that over the past 2 years and it's free. I cut the $80 Dish Network bill about 2.5 years and has saved me over $2,000 bucks. You can get everything online now. Hawks and M's are online, so really no need to feed the Sat. companies any longer.

    Eric,
I've been watching all your videos from the beginning and love your channel. I'm working towards getting out there myself full-time (after i get some other obligations out of the way first), and a lot of the knowledge you share will undoubtedly help me and many others have a more fluid transition to the full-time mobile lifestyle.
One thing has kinda been bugging me, though (and i'm not sure if it's already been addressed in later videos, i haven't made it that far yet)...but i keep hearing you talk about your "4G Wifi" service...but there's no such thing...4G is not Wifi. There's 4G, and then there's Wifi.
4G is what you use when you connect your phone/jetpack/etc. to the cell towers. It uses a range of radio frequencies in use by the cellular providers; which specific frequencies depend upon what provider you're using, as well as what the particular tower you're connecting to is set up to broadcast. Wifi is connecting your computer/TV/game system/etc. to a wireless access point (in your case, your jetpack) that is installed in your home (RV), and for the most part, Wifi uses either the 2.4Ghz (B/G/N Wifi) or 5Ghz ("A" Wifi) radio frequencies (or sometimes both at once, such as when using "AC" Wifi). In addition to the different frequencies in use, each one also uses completely different types of wireless connection protocols. They are both wireless, but they are not both Wifi.
Wireless (2G/3G/4G) and Wifi are not interchangeable, in the same way that a square is a rectangle, but a rectangle is not a square. Calling 4G "Wifi" would be like using the Yahoo search engine, but calling it "Googling" something. Yahoo & Google are both search engines, and you can perform web searches on both of them, but you are not "Googling" something unless you're actually using the Google search engine.
Now, your jetpack does have both 4G and Wifi, but 4G connects the jetpack to the cell tower via one antenna, then Wifi connects all your local devices to the jetpack using a 2nd antenna.

It's in my video description. My rented wifi over 4g cell towers. I have wifi in the RV to connect all my devices and stream my cameras over the internet so that I can access remotely. Therefore - I have a cellular wifi network in my RV on the road. :)

We only have OTA and streaming services with a similar verizon plan as you, 90% of the time it works great, sit the wireless device in your booster if need be for less buffering. Verizon never throttles us either (as you know with all your uploading)
