Hi Helen! Gardens looking good! ..just a thought, if you have any old plastic bottles from your kitchen you might consider cutting the bottom off , dig a small hole n place the container in the soil near your Gunnera's roots. They're a bog plant and drink a massive LOT and as they take off u can see by the bottle in the ground where to aim the water. Just a thought seeing as threes not a drop of rain in the horizon. xx

Sometimes plants go into shock when you move them so give them a couple of days and you may see an improvement! Don't be tempted to over water them 😆 - learnt that the hard way

The old folk thing isn't weird at all. I recently met my friend's grandma and she was a nurse who grew up in a rough area, just like my grandma. She spoke almost exactly how my grandma did with a mix of kindness and strictness and just grandmotherly love and i literally wanted to be glued to her side. I felt so warm and comforted when she hugged me and said "oh, you've brought a friend. I am so happy that you came. What's your name?" made me laugh :)

Rewild Ur garden don't grass it. Chuck a few reseeding seeds and taadaa job done Ur helping nature without helping nature. make a hedgehog area and bug hotel in the back away from Ur eyeline

Section off a bit of lawn to stop cutting. Get a cheap packet of native wildflowers and sprinkle dem everywhere. Create a beautiful native meadow! Watch all the bees and wildlife love de fir it!

I totally understand you about the grandparents thing. I lost my grandparents when I (think) was still young (19yo) and I miss them so much. So I appreciate having a small talk with a granny sometimes 😅 the other day I was in the changing room after my swimming lesson and I lent a granny my hairbrush and she then told me I had been very kind and asked for a hug 🥺 I almost cried right there haha
