I love that in the 2015 live action adaptation of the animated Disney film, we learn why Cinderella's stepmother is so cruel towards her. We were told previously that she was jealous of her charm and beauty when her own daughters were awkward and ugly, but in the live action version, we see a bit of her life with Ella's father and she overhears him tell Ella that he misses her mother, his first wife, and finds his new wife and stepdaughters trying, although he adds that they must try to be accepting of the situation. It is heartbreaking especially when she shares with Ella how happy she was with her first husband and was devastated when he died, choosing to remarry only for the benefit of her daughters, regardless of Ella's father's lack of status. But it definitely makes her a relatable villain.
That's the one from Kenneth!
@@aslan9334 Yup he did an excellent job directing the film! It’s not as magical as the original but it is definitely the best of all the remakes!
The original Cinderella, Rodger and Hammerstein’s and the 2015 remake are my absolute favorites!
"Ever After" was one of my favourite childhood films, and Drew Barrymore and Dougray Scott have such enchanting chemistry.
i love ever after
Cinderella 1950, Another Cinderella Story 2008 and Cinderella 2015 were my favorites
The Disney cartoon of Cinderella was the first film my mother took me to see at the pictures. Will always be the best. My mother as dementia now so it's a precious memory.
Actually, it's a pity that this features only the more recent American Cinderella movies; so they're are all the same as it's only the same story remade again and again and get sometimes get a modern touch - apart from "Ever after" which is indeed a creative different versions. There are - of course - much more and more different Cinderella movies. The Glass slipper with Leslie Caron or the musical version with Julie Andrews or The Slipper and the rose; not to forget the great Czech version (and its Norwegian remake) as well as the German, Russian and other European versions, and finally the animated/anime versions; So that would be "every Cinderella movie".
Most of these lists are about Hollywood productions, rarely do I see independent versions on them. Some have included them though, like Moderngurlz
Ever After is my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE..
The Slipper & the Rose (1976) & The Glass Slipper (1955). I love these 2 versions. I wish they would have been part of this list.
Especially "The Slipper & the Rose". Which is a forgotten gem. & my favorite version of Cinderella.
With the 1997 Brandy version & Ever After tied for second.
130: I just love various movies of Cinderella
As someone who’s always been a fan of the story Cinderella I love how they analyze the story
They included Sneakerella!
Very thorough. Well done. 👏👏👏👏
The 1950 Cinderella, Brandy’s Cinderella, Danielle, and the live action Disney Cinderella
Forever and always will love the 1998 Rodgers and Hammerstein version with Brandy and Whitney Houston. Not only cause Brandy is my all time fav singer but cause that version was just beautiful all around with the scenery, diversity, casting, etc. Whitney made the right choice choosing brandy for the role, and then playing as the fairy godmother with her vocals and gracefulness was just majestic imo
Oh my God I can’t believe you guys forgot about “if the shoe fits“ it is an amazing Cinderella movie, one of my favorite
Ever after is my absolute favorite version of Cinderella
You forgot once upon a song Cinderella with Lucy hale and the Christmas Cinderella with Greg Sulkin and Laura marano
Lily James is my favorite Cinderella, and Camilla is my least.
Ever After was my favorite
How is
“Another Cinderella Story:Once Upon A Song”
“Ella Enchanted”
“Rags”
Not on this list
Don't forget A Cinderella Story if the shoe fits A Cinderella Story Christmas Wish and A Cinderella Story Starstruck
Rags!!!
Cinderella is my favorite Disney princess. She’s a great example of perseverance, hope, and always being kind. Her strength is her moral courage which is inspiring.
Ever after is the only(this type) movie I can watch MANY times
The 1955 and Brandy and Whitney Houston versions of Cinderella are still my favourite movies
Me too
It came out in 1997 not 1995
@@marlenamook0792 I think you need to reread this comment. Make sure you read something right before you correct someone.
Well, this is so exciting!
These may not be Cinderella canon movies but I’m going to mention it. Happily N’Ever After and Ella Enchanted.
The first one is animated with the voices of Sigourney Weaver, Freddie Prinze Jr and Sarah Michelle Gellar. It might be considered forgotten and a bomb but I love the movie since childhood
For the second one is a different version introducing Anne Hathaway. Unlike other Cinderella’s, she’s under a spell to do anything but it’s a fun movie
My favourite is cinderella from 2015 just because i grew up with it 🤷🏻♀️
Cool
I love that Cinderella is now a fashion designer. She can design clothes with Elsa!
From all of the Cinderella movies, I have to go with Drew Barrymore in Ever After: A Cinderella Story
Total miss here not to include Lesley Anne Warren and Stuart Damon. Will always be my favorite. What about Julie Andrews and Jon Cypher?
7:12 Didn't Expect The Stepfather to be so loving in the end.
My favorite is the 1950s Disney Classic movie
With Leslie Ann Warren?
@@ladykoiwolfe The animated with A Dream Is a Wish Your Hearts Makes
@@user-gd6vn5vy5v ah, that one is lovely too.
Brandy’s “Cinderella” is my all time favorite movie

Great video Cinderella is a great character
I never liked the story of Cinderella except for Ever After! Ever After is my favorite movie I can recite it by heart. I mainly love how she saves herself
Cinderella could be it’s own genre it’s been done so much haha! But I still the lore so much, no matter the varying adaptations! Ever After is still my favorite for sure! 💖✨
So can A Christmas Carol with its many adaptations, retellings and parodies. Lol
@@hunterolaughlin Omg totally agree haha!

Do not forget “Cindy” and “The Slipper and the Rose.”
OG Cinderella >
You didn't show Every Cinderella.
Leslie Ann Warren was, is, and always will be my favorite Cinderella. Brandy and Whitney were in the recast Rodgers and Hammerstein's Cinderella, but She was in their movie way back, shortly after the highly popular animated movie.
I've always loved her final gown.
1950's Cinderella will always be my favorite one, but i also like 2015 version and The Glass Slipper, with Leslie Caron.
The movies are one the best fairy tales. If not the best
Love adaptations of a timeless story.
Me too
Is there any version that's 100% accurate to the original fairy tale?
The 1950 version is the most accurate in my opinion.
I love Cinderella with brandy and the one live Disney action is my fav too
Cool movie
There's another Cinderella movie you're forgetting....done by Roger and Hammerstein and it of course was a musical with Leslie playing Cinderella... also Ginger Rogers played the prince mother.
I have three favorite Fairy Godmothers;
Fairy Godmother
Leonardo De Vinci
Whitney Houston’s Fairy Godmother
All the Cinderella adaption were magical ✨️ 💖. Especially Sneakerella ✨️
You forget one Cinderella the one with the magic tree as the fairy godmother. I think it's the original Cinderella.
Woman's shoes joke is hilarious.
You should have included Ella Enchanted in your examples
Each film s unique
✨ "Cinderella & the Secret Prince" (2018)

Very very great epic list I like it a lot very very great job mis mojo one of my absolute favorite list ever 💗 my favorite Cinderella movies are Cinderella 2015 ever after a Cinderella story Rodger & Hammerstein's Cinderella
I have grown up over the last 60 plus years watching all these movies, I know many people "don't agree" with many of them but all the same I watched them. Easy for youth of today to not agree with the messages I would still like to acknowledge these movies all brought the many naysayers of today a small movie history on how many of these we saw on the road on a road to more understanding of today.
I like Cinderella :
The first Cinderella live- action and second is interesting are (The Prince The king😞helper/ sword freighter)
Cinderella (1950)
A Cinderella story
A another Cinderella
A another Cinderella story 3
Happy every after
Cinderella(the 90' s)
I wrote a paper on this topic in college. I focused on Ever After and Rodgers and Hammersteins Cinderella (Whitney and Brandy). So this is a fun jog down memory lane
2015 Cinderella my no. 1
I love Ever after. That's my favorite
1 Evil Queen
2 Stepparents
3 Valentina Zenere
4 La Teresa
5 Annabelle
6 Meghan
7 Gaston
8 Genie Ye
9 Conjuring
10 Rubi Ruby
I preferred the 2015 remake and the Disney animated movie
No matter how many adaptations there are, I so love the story of Cinderella! It's really wonderful, having a girl we relate to, who wants love, while being a slave. Of course, Disney's animated version holds up to me so much, but I also love the live-action version and Cinderella Story. Yet to watch the Hammersmith version, Another Cinderella Story, Sneakerella, Ever After, and the Amazon Prime exclusive, but I have a feeling I'll love all of them.
You forgot to talk about "Cinderelmo" and how in that Elmo's dog named Prince becomes human by Elmo's god person and Prince ends up with the princess
Brandy you are favorte cinderlla
Leslie Anne Warren. Lily James. Disney cartoon.
You didn't show A Cinderella Story once upon a song, A Cinderella Story if the shoe fits, A Cinderella Story Christmas Wish, A Cinderella Story Starstruck and DJ Cinderella
I like movie Cinderella 1997
Cinderella 1915 my favorite
What about After The Ball with a gender bender fashion situation?
Loved that one! But Ever After and Brandy will always be my faves! ♡
Little girls watch these movies and are like...
"I HATE MY LIFE!!!"
Not all little girls think that. Some are proud of how Cinderella got her happy ending.
@@Jeremiah_Rivers76 while the rest are envy as buck
@@RayMcElroy50That’s just your opinion.
I'm actually a little bit mad that you didn't include "Three hazelnuts for Cinderella". It's the most popular Cinderella movie in Europe (especially Middle and east Europe) and it is played every Christmas.
What about Ella Enchanted?
I won't watch ANY version of Cinderella accept the live action Disney remake. It is one of only 3 times that Disney did a live action remake that was GOOD.
And just look at the cast
Lily James- Cinderella
Richard Madden- The Prince
Cate Blanchett- Lady Tremaine
Helena Bonham Carter- Fairy Godmother
Directed by Kenneth Branagh
That is ALL A list talent.
The Disneys 1950 Cinderlla
And brady Cinderella stoey too
cooool
RAGS is missing
Now do The Wizard of Oz
My favorite would’ve had to be Cinderella am a mermaid
I vote for the 1950 version.
You forgot Rags!
Into the woods? No…? Ok
I know right
What if by just a tad bit,
I liked Cinderella 2015 more than the one from 1950
Does anyone remember Rags? The Nickelodeon movie where it was a guy Cinderella
Cinderella 1950 and 2015 and ever after and alittle bit of a Cinderella story

Die wahre Geschichte von Cinderla
I'll always love "A Cinderella Story", since I grew up with it, and presented a fun modern version of the classic fairytale.
Some really glaring omissions. No Leslie Ann Warren -- the sine qua non of the cannon for quite a while. No _Slipper and the Rose_ , one of the cheekier and award nominated? No Julie Andrews -- who should always be listed just because it's freakin' Julie Andrews? And so many others. Oh well.
A Cinderella Story with Hilary Duff, will ALWAYS be the best live action (not including the original cartoon) and Ella Enchanted is up there too
Brandy is my #1 Cinderella followed very closely by Drew Barrymore.
📖💗💕🏆
you didn't mention the 1965 tv version? really?
The 2004 movie was toxic as hell
If you're going to compare all the movies, at least mention The Slipper and the Rose XD
