I'm a low time RC pilot and wanting to move up I bought the Extra 300. Started flying in SAFE and have it trimmed out and doing good. Problem is when switching off SAFE there is a big differences in trim, lots of down elevator and some right in the ailerons. With those big surfaces I turn SAFE off and its diving straight down and into a right turn. The difference in the elevator and ailerons can easily be seen on the ground and turning SAFE on and off. Is there a way to trim it in SAFE and ASX3? Does yours change when you turn SAFE on and off. Thanks for any help.
Yes...always follow these steps: 1) Center trims in transmitter (if they’re not already centered) 2) Switch to AS3X mode if it’s an airplane with SAFE Select, or switch to Experienced mode (basically AS3X mode) if it’s an airplane with SAFE 3) Mechanically center ALL surfaces by adjusting the clevises as/if needed...even if it’s just a half turn. NEVER check center or adjust the the linkages with SAFE Select on or in the Beginner/Intermediate modes So if you switch between SAFE Select and AS3X, the trims will be way out of whack if you didn’t mechanically center the surfaces to start is AS3X mode That’s before the first or next flight. After that, you’ll still need to adjust the trim in AS3X or Experienced mode...adjusting the trims in SAFE Select or the Beginner/Intermediate modes will make a mess of the trim in AS3X and Experienced mode (which is all that matters)
Wes, Is the G2 4S 3200mAh you go to battery for this plane? I hoping it is! I have the same plane, still in the box. LOL But i have 8 4S 3200 G2's and 8 4S 2200 G2's. With the 3200 is hard to get the battery into the hatch? Also how about the CG? ThanK you in advance Wes!
With the 4s 3200 add nose weight it will be tail heavy but it is plenty big enough. You will honestly need to put two of your batteries in the plane in order to hit cg you could get an adapter and make two of your 3200s into a 6400 😉 and fly for 7-8 minutes
