Mr. Freeze was such a tragic and sympathetic villain. Batman Beyond truly did him justice here. I like the idea of transferring Mr. Freeze’s conscience into a new body, but goes horribly wrong when his body starts deteriorating and goes back to his regular villainy agenda: Revenge. I also like how Terry was right about Fries wanting a chance at a normal life again but Bruce was also right to be wary of Fries going back to his old habits again. And that’s how the episode ends

I feel bad for Mr freeze, but at least he died honorably!
Bane got exactly what he deserved!

Headcanon on other rouge's besides Harley who is super old and a retired grandmother, aunt? But for Ivy; plunging too much into the green and literally became a true-neutral nature fey. Croc, finally hunted down and kaput after too many feral minded habits like cannibalism. Firefly, retired after Joker's torture of Tim with Batman being WAY more violent than necessary and a gay dad. Catwoman, cannot get Bruce to fully retire after Tim's horror-torture so left the country. Cobblepot, despite being very mutated from birth has a lot of less mutated kids than him and is balancing on the fence of being in the grey market. Riddler dies from one of his inventions when Bruce started to age into senior years, by literal pure ACCIDENT!? Harvey forever in a sanitarium as experimental meds started to worsen him but was logically transferred AWAY from Gotham, though Batman was a bit jelly for his best friend to go. Clayface permanently molded himself into the Earth and is trapped there after Tim-Torture. That's as much as can say, hitting comment limit. Add your own!

They said people show their true selves at their last moments, & in Freeze's case at his last moment sacrificed himself to save Batman & trying to harm Powers empire as much as he could

The Harley Quinn show also had Mr. Freeze met with a tragic end. After Harley Quinn broke Nora’s cryogenic suspension pod, Nora was on the verge of dying from her disease. Ivy was able to use her powers to do a blood transfusion with both Victor and Nora. But the transfusion ended up killing Mr. Freeze and the last person he saw was Nora before dying.

It is sad to see what happened the villains, especially Talia. I know Ra's was bad but still thought he cared somewhat for her.
It is interesting to compare Terry and Spider-Man.

Not so fun fact: I used to work in a care facility for old or disabled people, and we had a man that was a former professional body builder. He had won competitions and been on TV and all kinds of stuff but he ended up catching HIV from a steroid needle and ended up exactly like Bane. An invalid in a wheelchair with no muscle mass and completely unable to care for himself. Just a skeleton in a wheelchair.
That episode of Beyond always stuck with me because of that, Bane's fate is a pretty accurate representation of what steroid abuse can do.

    Another great video, thanks man.
What happened to Mr. Freeze is just horrible. He was actually trying to become a better person, accepting his sins and looking for love. However, fate is cruel and wouldn't let him have it. He deserved so much better.
Bane fate is tragic but exactly what he got for dopping himself up. He only thought in the Now and not Ahead. It's what led him to his fate.

    • @00yiggdrasill00
      @00yiggdrasill00 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

I'm not sure I can agree that he deserved better. He failed to grow beyond a desire for vengeance and, well, dig two graves and all that. But I do think he deserves to be remembered as someone who tried to improve and that his path was not started entirely by his own choices. He did a damn sight better than joker or bane ever did. he actually tried.

    • @mandalorianhunter1

@@00yiggdrasill00 He did grow but he was wronged again. This time it wasn't just by the people who brought him back but also by someone who started having feelings for. He was genuinely putting his money to good use and trying to make amends with the people who he wronged.

*Bane* became a chairbound invalid from the venom; the key concoction of his strength and power throughout his battles with Batman, keeping him barely alive and still breathing.
*Mr. Freeze's* no way out from trying to change himself for the better, only for complications and betrayal to set him back to the path of darkness one final time. While in the end did one last act of selflessness by saving Batman's life.
While Yes, I know she isn't a Rogue Gallery and not on the list, *Talia Al Ghul's* dark sacrifice for *Ra's Al Ghul's* preservation of his own life by using her body as a vessel.
I admit this much, seeing a *Batman Beyond* episode with a few of the villains from the *BTAS* and knowing what becomes of them is horrifying, but a real downright tragedy, and/or downright cruel for the fates they received and the hand they are dealt with.
And I wish I could say something about the Joker, but let's be honest about his character so it won't be sugarcoated. No tragedy on his end. Only a horrifying, but well-deserved death (Depending on the version of his death in the Joker Returns movie) and cruelty inflicted on another had major consequences.

Nice video. I totally agree - the fates of Mr. Freeze and Bane were tragic. Mr. Freeze is, IMO, one of the best written Batman villains and his story is so tragic. He was a very complex character too.
The writers of Batman Beyond did a great job, especially with the episodes you discussed. They could've showed Fries/Freeze and Bane in one-dimensional ways, but chose to go a more tragic and emotional path.
    Great video again. Take care.

That pusher, Chapel, fell on top of the slapper container do to his own negligence. You can hardly blame Terry for it. But when he thought Cuvier, the splicer doctor from season 2, Terry intentionally plugged him full of mutagen, turning him into SOME KINDA monster. Now that was a Batman Begining noment for Terry!
Also, this was a good video! Freeze and Bane got the shaft in the most deserving fashion.

The teams that worked on WBs shows of the time did some good stuff with the PSA episodes like Tiny Toon's one beer and the damage to Bane. However I think It's never to late might be the best as it shows no one is safe from the hurt no matter what position they may hold.

Mr. Freeze and Bane had outcomes that were inevitable: a broken man given a second chance, and a man with drug abuse living the rest of his life with the consequences.
One more character (technically two) that was shown was the Society of Shadows with Talia and her father. We meet Talia still young as she partook in the Lazarus Pit, and she tried to convince Bruce to do the same. It turns out that Ra’s al Ghul had his consciousness/brain transplanted into Talia with the express goal of doing the same to Bruce; he only took so long as the initial process required a host body with a genetic match to Ra’s. Despite Ra’s mysoginistic views (believing that only Bruce/a man could run the Society, not his own flesh and blood), he claimed that Talia volunteered willingly.
In the end, both of them suffered results of time passing: Talia’s devotion had her killed while Ra’s al Ghul’s obsession led to desperate measures.

Cool video so far but I've reached the usual part about the freeze frames and... I actually don't mind them. I think they could be a neat little artistic choice if you valorized them. Don't know if you know about a youtuber called "The real Jims", who mostly does Simpsons videos with freeze frames and they're actually a delight to watch.

A number of characters have their fates brought up in the TNBA comics. Clayface wound up falling into a cement mixer and ended up as a statue of the Gray Ghost. Poison Ivy was killed by Batgirl exposing her to weed killer, only for it to be revealed the real Poison Ivy left Gotham at the end of House & Garden and the late BTAS/TNBA Poison Ivy was just a plant clone.
