Hi, I start AFROTC very soon and I’m really concerned about a few things so if you can please reply I would appreciate it. How were you able to only do AFROTC for only one year, do field training, and commission only a year later???? I was told by the captain at my crosstown school that I have to stay in for 3 years. I am self dependent and before was told I could do 2 years and apparently they changed it. If you can find out what the minimum is I would appreciate it. Thanks.

Hey! As an officer you dont live in the dorms at all. So you’ll find somewhere off base and you can calculate the bah by using a bah calculator online! Bah is the monthly amount you’ll get for housing
hey casey im prior enlisted, currently civilian and actually in the process of applying for the upcoming 19OT03 board. Would you mind sharing what kind of stuff you had in your package? AFOQT Scores, GPA, LORs, etc. also, are you stationed at robins?
So I actually commissioned through an accelerated ROTC program but originally was doing the whole OTS process. Make sure you have volunteer work and try to coordinate a volunteer project because they want to see leadership. If you can get LORs from officers (Preferably Major and up) that would be good but also your current boss, I did professors too. My GPA was pretty good but my AFOQT score wasn't the best but its a WHOLE PERSON concept. Yes, I am at Robins.
