@@lynxloup4301 The fact that it didn't tells me that it wasn't the heat that loosened the bolt. Or he did a lot more of it earlier, came back, put the bolt back in and made the video.
There's of course a reason. It's to save money. There's less metal in this bolt than there is with a traditional HEX bolt. Those cost savings add up over millions of bolts. For the record I absolutely despite working on VAG stuff for this very reason. Their triple square bolts are a nightmare when they're rusted and seized in place. But there absolutely is a reason for it.
Instead of using a induction heater (it's a nice tool), use a lever. The spec for a bolt like what is 180-230 nm (it's a lot) plus 180 degrees. If you can get it off with any form of impact (for cars) the bolt is was not tight enough.
For European cars I know, it's usually around 300-400nm with a nut that is then secured by hammering a part of it inwards. This is easily opened with an impact wrench. But with a proper one with compressed air, not the battery type as used in the video.
That won't do either if it's seized. The wheel is just gonna spin on the ground . Ask me how i know... These fckn VW's, great cars but clearly badly designed maintenance wise
Allen head bolt on an axle shaft. Genius. Next minutes is taking the bit off the bolt.
I read this as Alien Head, which would have been much cooler
That induction heater is impressive.
And massive
Heat works wonders!
Anyone else thought it was going to burn his hand???
Vue les gants latex ,oui..🤔

Exact
Induktion don't Burn your Hand
@@krzysztofczubachowski2530 yes, but the thing you heated will.
I love our induction heater at work. Made light work of a bmw z3 rear sub frame bolts.....and bushes 😂😂
Love these brake and suspension vids. Some clever mechanics.
Oooo "fuel" brushless and induktion. I have A60 Alesko and "fuel" 🎉 good work
Impressive!!
Carefull with rubber gloves and heat. Easy to get laminated.
You don’t need extreme heat for expansion and contraction. Just enough heat to melt the thread lock
That sound reminds me of a Chinook helicopter. Big boy in the sky
An Allen bolt for no reason at all

I work at VW dealership and most of the time open with a good impact (air poweded oc). On very rusty cars not, though.

Handy heats up fast
Oh shit look out man! He had to go get the machine
Take the centre of the wheel cap off , whilst the car is still on the ground , then undo the driveshaft bolt.
Yes that wat a have to do at Kirb side motor's 😅
Almost never working just snapping bits
@@zsoltszilagyi2156 never had that issue and im in the salt belt. made my own 17 allen from a old audi lug and socket welded together.

That is the proper way to do it. Never a problem.
that seems like a very dependable tool since nothing is much catching on fire its accurate
Glüht, aber der Plastikhandschuh hält das aus?
Das Ding glüht und 30 Sekunden später greifst du es mit gummi Handschuhen an?
That was ..... Coool!
Personally I also use Milwaukee but also Makita is great.
Makita ist hobby werkzeug. Nur Hilti
would an ordinary propane torch worked as well ?
I just use my 6 foot scaffolding pole on a strong arm 😂😂😂😂, you like your induction heater tool Baz 😂😂😂
And if that doesn’t work get a bigger bar 💪💪💪
Rien d'extraordinaire 😂
That right there is the most accessible bolt on a VW
Really?? Just loosen it with the wheels on the ground, same for any CV jointed drive axle
cant be tight if its liquid...
If we had space in our workshop for one of these I'd be begging to get one
You can get smaller handheld versions without the cart, they plug in to a 110v outlet and actually work great.
What do you work in, a shoebox?

Put some heat on it - and... voilà!
A lot of money for what a heat gun can do 😂😂😂😂😂
Heat gun would not get it hot enough
I'm looking at buying one. How much we talking. Thanks.
I don’t think they can be trusted with one, and definitely not a blow torch

Search for ,,Teknel Dragon 300"
The deep socket dosnt help things
And you replaced the bolt with a new .... i hope ...?
Why? Not going to fall out is it
BC factory tells you to ..... and usually stretch is one time only ....
It's a stretch bolt. Usually if you get a part that requires you to remove hub bolt eg. CV joint, it comes with a new bolt
Yes and the fact that heated metall change and might get weaker..... I will never do 100 with the old bolt.
Let us know when you want to show, all
Another Milwaukee ad.
@@piotrc7003 if it was a Milwaukee add, the Milwaukee gun would have got the bolt out but it didn't
3/4" milwaukee and Real Nut for this doesent need xxxx $ heater
Get a stronger impact

Induction heating had no role here. The screw thread remained cold.
Agree just a fake ad
Try a shorter tool

just get a DeWalt dcf 961 smash those Audi hub bolts reet out
