New Video out tomorrow - with more detail! (20th Oct)
Did he open all 4 doors lol
That's a smart way to give you both versions from the first two movies with a single vehicle. The attention to detail is done very well.
Yeah it really is looking great!
Curious how do the black and yellow and the gb1 and gb2 logs switch out?
@@waynegonce3317 They are just "reusable" decals sadly...
@@j-bird4726 I would be OK without the GB 2 decals on the car and just using the roof/bumper/wheels
this is EXACTLY what Hasbro Star Wars has been missing - I'm sick of getting ship models when electronics are cheaper than ever. All SW vehicles deserve electronics, no matter their size! As an OG GB fan, this is absolutely out of the park from their tech designers and engineers. Incredible work
@@ia5662 preach!
Yeah, they have outdone themselves - and this is still in prototype - so will only get better!
Ditto
Absolutely perfect! So happy for folks blessed enough to get one!🙏
Playmobil: Ok, your lights look cool, I'll give you that.
The lights are amazing!
The detail that has gone into these cars, is without a doubt mind blowing.
Yeah they are fantastic
I just can't get over how awesome and epic the work that has been put in these cars!
It really is amazing!
@@Creative-Geekery man I can't wait till 2025!
It’s gonna be great!
Wow these look amazing. I already ordered the Deluxe for the 1A look, but after seeing how good the lights look on the regular Ecto, I think I might need a second one as well.
LOL yes!
The round blue roof lights on the 84 ecto are meant to pulse on and off simultaneously, on this they're staying static for some reason. Yes its pre production but worth a mention.
Good call out.
So they actually do look like they rotate in real life like the lights in the real car - the camera frame-rate did not pick it up accurately.
@@Creative-Geekery I’m referring to the 4 small blue round lights on the 84 ecto at the front and back of the roof rack in front of the light bars. In the 84 movie these pulsed on and off simultaneously,, yet on this they’re constantly on. Hopefully that’s corrected.
Ohhhh - yes sorry you are totally right! I’ll pass this on!
The Edge lightbar (flat bar in the front above the rotator bar) is supposed to strobe flash. In the movie, the camera speed didn't catch the strobe effect so it looks like a random blinking but in real life they don't blink like this, it's a triple strobe effect. Will make a huge difference in how it looks.
The USB port will now have to be standard for all light-up HasLabs. Genius.
Love Love Love this!
Hasbro has really been stepping up their game. I love to see how the guys who should have this job do have the job. You can tell the guy lives and breathes this type of work and is a true fan, the end product reflects that passion. And only a company with hasbros economies of scale can make something like this affordable, blitzway made a cool one but was five times the price. This is awesome.
Yeah great toy and the Haslab team are epic!!! Totally into what they do!!!
im curious to see how the ecto 1a decals work, the GB2 logo on the door covering the original GB1 logo etc and can they be removed to return to Ecto-1 without ruining the decals ?
@@Corfield81 I too am curious about this. Can you swap back and forth, back and forth, or do you pick a style and that’s it, you’re done. I wish we got some clarification from hasbro on this.
@@Corfield81 they call them interchangeable in the video. I have to think Hasbro made the decals vinyl so they can be swapped.
@@vanmicah on my geek dad life video showing off the car, it's been confirmed the decals are NOT stickers and can be removed to swap between the cars :D
@@Corfield81but only a couple times before they get worn down
@@Corfield81 I heard that they can be swappable but only “a few times”
I cannot seem to be able to resist this…Ecto-1 and Ecto-1A with these LIGHTS the stuff of dreams, as I was literally imagining for the last year
It really is super cool!
I ordered my personal one and four extras to sell to people who wanted to get it but maybe can't afford it at the moment. Next year when they start to arrive I will have them listed on eBay. All five are the deluxe anniversary model
This is stunning. I'm all in now. Thanks for making the video. That USB port power option is fantastic!
Yeah it’s great! You are very welcome - thanks for watching! And yeah the USB is epic!
I need to see how reliable the swapability of the decals
They have the light bars backwards on the 1A. The front bar should have the red, amber, green and the rear bar has blue, amber, green. They have them backwards!
Yes a few folks have pointed that out! I’ll pass it on 😊
Thank you for the exclusive inside look!🔥
You are so welcome - this was so much fun!
The USB-C port makes me happy. I want to get this and display it as the A next to my Fanhome/Eaglemoss Ecto-1, and being able to plug it in is a real plus.
Yeah - such a great addition!
This has probably already been pointed out, but the light bars on the 1A are backwards. :P The bar with the red rotors should be up front, and the bar with the blue rotors should be in the rear.
Thanks - yeah another comment mentioned it - but thanks for sharing! Appreciate it!
Okay, the light up signs are much better than I thought.
Would like to see how easily the decals come off.
Yeah, it looks great in person! - Decals are still being developed - so they will demo them in the future. They are very committed to making the car fully swappable!
Thank you for a closer look!
You are very welcome!
I thought the ecto-1a had one light from each of the red torpedo light pairs replaced with a flat white light for reverse.
Yep - this will be fixed.
CAN’T WAIT to to get the DELUX (ECTO-1A) to go in my own GB Firehouse!
😃👏🏻👍👍
That sounds epic!!!
Omg I love it so amazing Love to have that shirt you have on that to is great Goods Job
Thanks - and yeah it’s epic!
Great video! How did the decals look. Im never going to get them on properly haha
The ones here are not the final ones - but for the prototype - they are still developing the reusable decals.
According to GDL's interview with the Hasbro ref (same guy in this vid) the decals are totally interchangeable. They indeed can be removed from the 1A base model if you so choose to return the deluxe kit back to the standard Ecto-1 car - AND VICE VERSA.
Yes they are :)
They just opened pre-orders for these yesterday!
So excited!
Love it sorry if I missed your live stream I didn’t have my iPad on me.
All good!
Really cool. Great job.
Thanks!
This set is cool.
So cool!
Fun fact :1989 Ecto-1A required six additional 12V batteries for all of the lighting and could only be ran for twelve minutes at a time.
When sitting in front of the Museum, there is a hidden cable in a fire hose, going to a generator to keep all of the lighting going. 😂❤
I did not know that! But it makes sense! So many lights!!! No clue about the fire hose thing! That’s so cool!
@@Creative-Geekery
Welcome
I bought into the proton pack and both wands, was pissed I completely missed the 2 In The Box campaign, but man.... I just can't justify the cost on this one.
Yeah I get it! You don’t have to pay unless they meet the target - in Dec
What's great is you can almost make the ecto 1b video game look, which is my favorite look as I like the caution stripes. Still I might be out due to the price.
Yeah it will be cool for that. If you do decide to back it they won’t take any money until the completion date in December.
Very cool
Is there going to be the siren noise?
Yes - I did hear it - but they didn’t demo it as the program was temporary- but it will have a siren sound 😊
i wish i could get the deluxe one with 1A :( so bummed
Nice models, but lightbars on the ecto-1a are switched, the light bar with the y r g r g y pattern is suppose to be under the whelen edge light bar. While the y b g g by is the correct pattern for the light bar behind the dish.
They are still in development - the fan council - ectotech, ecto1_nj and other ecto owners/builders are part of a team advising on the build as well as ghost corps. They are still refining parts like this. Will happily pass this on!
I am a little worried about the back door and glass. They seem a little too square. I may be wrong but I think the actual ones are a little more rounded
It looked good to me in the model - perhaps a bit flatter. But still looked good.
Yes🤦🏻♂️I apologize, I meant flat (English is not my native language)…to be clear, I don’t want to over criticize something great like this beautiful piece and I will
Be a backer for sure
my big question is the sticker package for the 1-A, once you put those on there can they be removed and reused again, because if not then you can basically turn it into the 1-A and not back.
Yes, removable and reusable vinyl decals.
@@Havoc0213 They never said that. All they said were the decals were swappable and they are referring to the decals for the dot matrix display not the sticker sheet.
I take it back. Geek Dad Life just released a video where he asked the question to the lead electronics engineer at the booth and the Guy said they are removable decals that can be repeatedly taken off and put back on.
Yep removable all the way!
I really wanted to know how does that inter-changeable decals work? I mean if I do all the de-cals for Ecto-1A how would I remove it and get it back to Ecto-1 and do it multiple times?
They will be removable and reusable. They will share more on this closer to release.
@@Creative-Geekery thanks...need to understand how far I can reuse. If its like 5..6 times use then they better keep atleast the decals on site for purchasing separately
Yeah - I did think the same - would make sense to be able to get more if you want to 😊
Notice they did not show any figures inside the car ? Hope they all fit inside , not like the Oring figures
Good question - no they didn’t as the figures were not fully posable as they were still prototypes - but they did mention the interior of the car had been designed to fit the figures - and his is the reason why the seats in the car are not %100 actuate to scale so the figures will fit and sit inside
@ awesome that’s good news !!! I had to shave off the front seat of my 3d printed car so they could sit comfortably.
Am I the only one to notice those Twinkies on the table... are they using them for size comparison? 🤔 😅
That is exactly what they are for :)
Hi Do the Decals come off ounce they have been placed on the car or are they stuck on there forever so you have to choose which car you want it to look like. Also Does the computer in the back light up as well.
When they say decals they are referring to the dot matrix display everything else is a sticker sheet
Decals for the chevron strips and the logos will be removable and swappable.
@@LMG3D3DPrintingEnthusiast It will actually be both :)
Wasn’t there a third ECTO-1 made from an 86’ Caddy?
Yes there was
Got mine
Yay!
I wonder if the deluxe a1 and base model will have different packaging or if the deluxe upgrades will get a seperate additional package with all cars getting the same box
Good question - very possible - I know the box is something they start working on next 😊 the team were talking about how exited they were to work on it 😊
Looks cool, but too bad this won't back in time. It's been really slow this month. They need 12000 backers before December 2 for this to be released but right now it's at around 9250. At the beginning of November it was around 9000.
Quick question: why does the back door look like a whole 45° angle? I don't recall it being that steep in the actual movies.
All the parts of this model are prototype so are still being finalzed. Do you mean the opening angle or something else? Please clarify - happy to answer if I can :)
If you buy the deluxe model Will The Roof Rack Be Already set up On the car Attachfor the Ecto-1A or Will you need to put the roof racks on yourself When you open the box.
That is a good question - not sure they have got to the step of the box and packaging (next on the list).
Bro make the proton stream light up for once omg😢
It would be nice to do this!
Guys order up to 5 in an extra order and cancel after this week so we can all get Tully. No charge.
Lol
The decals part makes me nervous. Hows the decals quality and would it wear out after swapping them multiple times? Would it be better if its magnet instead?
This was the prototype model - so I didn’t get to see the removable decals in action - I know the team want to make it swappable for fans.
How tall are the figures?
Not sure if the measurement - but the same as all the Plasma Series.
Sorry one more question On the Deluxe Model Will the tires be already set up for The Ecto-1A. Thankyou.
The wheels are swappable - you reverse them and add different hub caps.
Nice lights, USB is welcome, but is there any die-cast metal in there? They are asking 380€ for this thing, I’m going to have certain expectations…
Good question - I didn't detect any in the prototype I saw. But the mold and detail quaility was very high.
Hey your not making this easy for me. I just don't have the room for this. 😢
I'm still waiting for the 2 in the box to arrive from last year. I already own the Hot Wheels Elite collectors series in die cast metal of both cars. In both 1:18 scale and 1:43 scale. Also the Joyride 1:18 scale Ecto 1 die-cast.
Understandable!
Too late, ordered the deluxe version. 😂@@Creative-Geekery
lol 😂
Does anybody know if the door behind the driver side opens because it looks like every other door except that one much appreciated if anyone knows
It does not.
@@chrisash7948 isn't it crazy that's something so small they couldn't work out I mean the Hot Wheels Elite version had it from all those years ago why can't it open this is crazy light sounds all the stuff that cost so much to do but you can't carve out the 4th the door SMH still if the campaign goes through already signed up for the deluxe model cuz I need it just wish all the doors opened LOL thanks
@@dorionl1591 The reason the driver rear door doesn't open is because the door on the actual Ecto-1 doesn't open. There's a console on the other side that has been reproduced in this toy/model. If you watch closely in the first movie, Hudson and Ramis both come out of the passenger rear door when they arrive at Weaver's apartment building (it is a little harder to see Ramis).
@chrisash7948 interesting so the hot wheels version is inaccurate??
@@dorionl1591 To be fair, I don't know if it has ever been established that the door can't open, it's just never been shown to open. The Blitzway model, which is arguably the gold standard for accuracy, allows it to open too, but shows the console behind it making it impossible to use it to enter/exit the vehicle. Not sure if they included that as a means of showing better detail or not.
Quick question. Is the body of Ecto-1 made of metal or plastic. Can’t tell from the video.
It’s plastic - but it’s hard to tell - the got the warm white color just right.
Does this make the siren noise?
Yes - it does - they dis demo this to me - but it’s was still in the early stages of coding - with a temporary audio file.
This a mix of metal and plastic? Is the body metal or plastic?
The prototype I saw here was plastic.
It doesn't quite look 1/12 scale. The driver seat is basically on the floor.
Yeah the seats are designed to accommodate the figures - so all of them can sit in it - so they are the least accurate part.
Yes it looks cool but i'd rather have Haslab make deluxe M.A.S.K vehicles.
M.A.S.K would be pretty cool!
Is it plastic?
Yes 👍
And I hope there will be a afterlife and frozen Empire version of this vehicle
I don’t think they will
Right now, just 40th and 35th anniversary of these cars - (GB1 and GB2)
Would’ve backed this if it weren’t for the $325 and $399 price tags, in my opinion this is not worth that insane price
I understand the sticker shock! Having seen it however, I think it's a good price.
I know this will be expensive and hope it gets backed but knowing the history of the back lash of past HasLab projects it keeps me from jumping the gun and dropping the asking price.
Why isn't the side board on the roof rack animated on the Ecto-1a? Such a distinguished feature.
I believe that would have pushed things a bit further on the price point. It certainly would have been cool.
That seems incredibly hard to do on those small thin bars there
In another video, they said they tried but it didn’t work out.
It would be very costly - but pretty sure as soon as this comes out someone will mod one to do it!
Sounds like an awesome epic upgrade project. ❤
People who don't back this are crazy!
lol - yeah it’s great!
you skipped the most important part. show us how the figures fit in the cars. if they do not, then i dont want it.
The figures they had were all prototypes - and set up for standing photos. But I know they modded the interior of the car slightly in the design to accommodate the figures sitting in the car.
The price is a bit much considering the Spengler pack was the same price
the spengler pack was released almost 4 years ago - there's been a ton of inflation since then, it wouldnt be the same price now
Understand your thoughts here - having seen it - it's pretty amazing - especially the electronics packed into it - they haven't cut any corners here!
@@noname-w6g4k yeh I'm just struggling at the moment and don't think I can back this one which is frustrating I did get the Spengler pack tho
Looks like a three figure car. Eventhough it looks fantastic, economically it's a pass for me
I just gotta put it out there that the people buying this are the biggest suckers on the planet.
“Those who want this for display”
Know your audience, there’s no kids buying this and no adults paying THIS MUCH and committing to the wait time for their children to play with this ridiculous car ☠️ and hopefully no adult is sitting on their living room floor making “vroom” noises dragging this along their carpet. Everyone is using this for display.
You could buy the LEGO set which is arguably cooler AND the LED light set for far cheaper.
This is a ridiculous asking price 😵 I’ve purchased the other haslab ghostbusters stuff, the pack, the wands, the 2 in the box set. But that stuff actually made sense to buy and is all reasonably priced (when the backing went up)
This is just a waste of money…
But maybe cars just aren’t what I’m into. Maybe you’re hyped about it. That’s you then I guess, don’t let this discourage you.
Why didn’t you ask about the decals? That’s the one thing that may be a dealbreaker with this..
Removable/reusable vinyl decals.
In my next video (20th Oct) Pat talks about it a bit more.
so lights on one of the crappiest models you can find? got ya
Sorry you didn’t like it.
Scale 1/8 ?
1/6 22 inches long
1/12 not 1/6!
1/6 would hold 12 inch figures not 5 3/4 figures.
Looks like a toy. I prefer the FanHome Ecto 1 .
Let us hear the siren for phucks sake!!! 🤬🤬🤬
The siren was not ready/finalised on the demo versions I saw - so we didn’t discuss it.
ugh its just so hard to justify the price for that. I know I will buy 2 to have both versions, But also as a model builder, I know that if you use molded plastic instead of paint, its just going to look like a plastic toy.
Yeah my one concern is how plasticky these might look, but if they're at least glossed up that might help. And we can always add a bit of weathering to give it some extra realism.
@@ChristopherFisher_78 I'm still buying it regardless
It is a toy, but one that is detailed enough for static display. Some metallic chrome touch up would go a long way. I'm buying simply because the Ecto-1 with lights and sounds hasn't been done much before, and the ones that have are either not very detailed, or costs a couple thousand dollars if you can find them. You also get the seven action figures that goes with it, and they usually sell for $16-$20 apiece.
As a prop/model builder myself - i totally understand this thought process. I was surprised at how good it looked - and the lights 'sell' it for me! I think with some time and good paint work this could look good enough for a miniature shot! the color of the body is great!
I’m so glad I hated Ghostbusters 2. Saved myself some money. My 4 boys have been waiting for their ride. If they had made Janine instead of that dork Moranis, then I would have supported the bigger project.
We need a Janine, HasLab.
Perhaps these figures will be in a future set.
