  • My 240sx is finally done! I've completed the LS swap and oh is it ever so nice to drive. In this episode I talk about what it's like to drive one coming from a 240 owner that has driven more than 4 different types of engines in 240sx's.

      EatSleepDrive Man, this does sound great! Do you have any more info on what you did for exhaust? What muffler, y pipe, headers?Usually a cammed ls1 is so loud but this sounds just right! Also do you have any more pictures of you exhaust?

    • @EatSleepDrive

      Thanks! I went with a Vibrant muffler amzn.to/2rbWBFj and y-pipe amzn.to/2DescvE both from amazon. That's pretty much it.

      Thanks Terry! I wish I knew more about carbureted cars. There's something refreshing about how simple they are, but it seems like an art to tune them.

    Man I'm really considering this swap even though I always saw it as sac religious lol. I like my 1jz in my s14 but I feel like I need an na v8 in my life and the Japanese v8's like the vh45 and 1uz are too much work for not much power.

    grats getting it running/tuned and ready for the road!! One thing I notice and I'm not sure if your car is that low but... the clamps connecting the headers to the V pipe screws and nuts are facing down. This may be a low point and could hit on speed bumps.. if so, can end up making it a real pain at a later date to take them off. I would angle them so they are not straight down. Sounds really nice. I may go for a bit quieter myself i am still thinking about that. but Thumbs up.. im wiring up mine this weekend!!

      That Camaro is over 1500 lbs heavier than this, its turning radius is shit. Most important, they look awful. I agree about the horsepower though. I would've used an ls2 at least to make it worthwhile.

    Damn, mustang dyno's must read super low. I had a mild cam in an LS1 and that made 400rwhp.

    • @KaeBears
      @KaeBears 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      they call mustang dynos, heartbreakers bc they read street hp

    • @matthewstorm5188
      @matthewstorm5188 ปีที่แล้ว

      Also, ‘mild cam’ is one of those weird terms when it comes to LS engines. For whatever reasons, many LS people refer to cams as ‘mild’ that would NOT be considered mild by anyone else. For instance, NOBODY but an LS person would call a 230/230 ‘mild’.

    • @vongdong10
      @vongdong10 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@matthewstorm5188 must be an American thing? Seeing as they can drive LS monsters on the road 'legally'.
      Anything 230 and above would be considered large in australia

    Even though there is a massive power difference which car was funner/better, the ls or the rb

    • @EatSleepDrive
      @EatSleepDrive  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      That's a really great question and also very hard to answer. I love the noise from both albeit they're totally different so that's a toss up depending on taste. I will say that the LS is notably lighter which is quite apparent when it comes to handling. The RB has more theater to it since all the power is up top whereas the LS is a flat torque curve. End of the day the RB is slightly more exciting but the LS makes for a better handling all around car.

    • @garage_nostalgia
      @garage_nostalgia 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      EatSleepDrive that's good to know, I'm almost done with an RB in my S13 and I figured that iron lump would make a handling difference
