Titanic has got to be the most photogenic and aesthetically pleasing ship to look at ever. She just looks so insanely beautiful from any angles and her design just flows so nicely together. She's absolutely perfect!!
Not insane but its certainly the biggest step they have made when it comes to water so far...its at least not embarrassingly bad compared to the model anymore. Also to be fair it seems they achieved this by just tweaking what they already had because it seems like basically the same effects from 2016 - other than those little tweaks
My hope is they’ll continue to improve upon it as we get closer to release. It’s come a miraculously long way since just 2 years ago, and there are now new technologies and plugins available with Unreal that allow realistic water to be simulated more effectively in games. Exciting times.
P.S. One of the signs of how complete and knowledgeable the creators are: the boiler smoke is coming out of funnels 1 - 3 (exactly as they SHOULD), BUT, you can just make out a small bit of smoke from the number 4 funnel, the smoke from the galley and the 1st class Smoking Room. Nobody else would think of THAT detail. Bravo and much respect, Gentlemen.
considering where the smoke is coming from too, that would be the galleys only. I'm not certain the smoking room fire would even be important enough to generate visible smoke considering how small it was.
After so many years of all progress in this project this feels quite a bit like the maiden voyage. Very submersive. I'm very happy to see there has been worked on the smoke and water physics. Excellent views.
Incredibly well done, improved wake, and the smoke from the funnels... Not to mention the rust marks below the starboard anchor hawse... y'all really outdid yourselves
Most beautiful piano i ever heard. Happy to see how much recognition the Titanic is getting even after 112 years. She will live on in our hearts forever 💙
@@a-guy1912 It looks to a degree like a warship because it was designed to quickly transform into one if needed. The S.S. United States has a very utilitarian design without much thought given into her aesthetics. Kinda like modern day cruise ships are designed. Utilitarian and not very pretty. If you're going to compare a ship by beauty alone to the Titanic (A ship that was specifically designed to look as sleek, elegant and attractive as possible), then you're gonna need to pull up a ship that can actually hold a candle to the Titanic in the beauty department like the Normandie or the Queen Mary.
This made me feel a wave of nostalgia. Ever since I was a young boy I had always studied the titanic and I had been fascinated by it. Seeing the ship glide through the ocean whilst the sun shined on it made me Incrediably happy. I could imagine the passengers strolling around in their little elegant day dresses and hats with smiles on their faces.Thank you THG. You have made a boy happy.
The nice thing about this (and other 3d creations), is that, regardless of the status of the real thing, the TITANIC can sail on forever, no iceberg, for as long as we want, arrive in New York, and have a lifetime that never ends. It's sort of like video or music of The Beatles (my OTHER obsession) - when I see restored or expertly colorized footage, it's as if to me like John and George never died: they're still with us, young and vital, and in the prime of their lives. Same with this - the TITANIC is still, in our imagination, sailing, the perfect ship that she was, no death, no tragedy.
First, the music here is wonderful - haunting but beautiful, and stylistically perfect for the period. Second, the water effects are constantly improving. These are very hard to do! Third, the very subtle smoke coming out of the proper place on the aft funnel is just one more (of thousands) of reminders that THG knows their stuff. These posts are always a joy to see. Keep up the magnificent work!
James Cameron 1 million shot ‼️ The CGI in the film looks even worse in 4K. He should make Titanic again and focus more on crew and passenger classes and latest research! Someone else might will anyway.
Best project and the team ever. Titanic ( and both Olympic class sisters ) are hands down the most elegant yacht like designs with clean streamlined lines. Timeless beauty...
Fantastic. I've always read that the Olympic's enclosed forward A deck was because of spray. Olympic had it's B deck promenade, at least until the later days forward. But for me, the enclosed A deck is also a visual improvement for Titanic
Only God knows how much I would travel back in time to see her, even just for once, even just in the distance, seeing her disappearing below the horizon. The Titanic inspired me for years, I love her so much. ❤
I know that many say if she didn’t sink she would have been just another ship… but imagine if all 3 sisters sailed together for 20-30 years! They would have been a legendary trio!
She’s truly something else. Watching her sail is like falling in love. The Great Maiden of the deep. Eternally young and beautiful, lost to time, resting peacefully in a place beyond anyone’s reach. She may physically be fading away, but her story is immortal, as are the lost souls that went down with her.
i. actually want to cry. this is so beautiful? such a majestic and powerful sight, her powering through the ocean like that... this is just in another level. everything is just perfect.

The water looks so, so much better here. Nearly everything is right, waves, foaming, trailing. Except at points of contact. Way, way too blocky, shapely. Remember, water takes the shape of it's container or whatever is displacing it, but it does so violently and dynamically. There needs to be splashing, breaking, tearing, and recovery, and it needs to be seen on a per-centimeter basis. Obviously it's difficult to describe, versus visualize, but every point must break the water and recover it, and this isn't doing that, but only at those points of contact. It needs more realism there. But from the last footage I saw, this is a huge, huge graduation.
Only one critical remark: Lack of flags. Flags (ensign, White Star company flag, destination) fluttering in the breeze would be such an eye-catching thing, like the detail given to the tiny bit of smoke drifting out the 4th funnel... Still, a stunning video. Absolutely stunning. Kudos for the musical accompaniment, too... marvelous.

I don't think the people angry about the alpha being delayed realise just how monumental of a task it is to do something like this. For as well known as Titanic is to the public, we really know very little about it. Before THG published Titanic's very own deckplans, through intensive research, all the ones we had were estimations and educated guesses based on Olympic's. Titanic was only photographed on the inside about 30 times, and some of those were repeats of the same room. They've frequently had to go back and fix things because the first attempt was proven faulty through new research. If you want them to slap something together and call it a day, go play one of the many Titanic simulation games that let you roam the whole ship at the cost of photorealistic immersion and accuracy. Meanwhile, I'll happily wait for the alpha if it means I get to see the new discoveries and improvements the team has made through videos like this.
