Thank you very much, friend, helped out. I cleaned the gamepad from dust and assembled it, everything is clear. The only step that caused me difficulties was laying that black wire, which is very rigid and inflexible. And a very small joint, the Xinput/DirectInput lever stopped switching, apparently I twisted some of the cogs:)
This is the best disassembly and reassembly video I have watched. Straight-to-the-point and super-informative.👍 In my case, the problem with the right trigger was that the base of the spring shifted slightly and was not well supported by the tiny pole it goes around. This was causing phantom inputs to be registered from time to time. After realigning everything, the problem appears to have gone away.
Within 3 days of buying this controller my left analog stick would get stuck and it felt a little gritty. Followed this video, took it apart, put it back together, and the left stick works again! Not really sure what the problem was to begin with but thank you for the tutorial!
Mine is over 10 years old and I'm only replacing it as I found the newer gen of controllers are much better (more precise) at FPS shooter games. I've poured 99% isopropyl alcohol into the joysticks maybe twice (while unlpugged) , shook it around and let it dry overnight twice in 10 years! It's friggin bulletproof!
Thanks a bunch. I tried to do it myself, and ended up fixing the problem. Thing is, when I went to close, my right joystick would get stuck if I put the screws back in. After watching ur vid, I realized the wire was pushing the right side too hard and I had to fix it. again, thanks a bunch. I love you
2:30 to 3:08 is completely impossible for my F310. the fucking circuit board just refuses to sit correctly no matter how i adjust the wire underneath. i kept trying and trying until one of the rubber pieces tore, and i gave up completely and snapped the circuit board. moving on to a PlayStation/Xbox controller now.
Thank God for this video. My little bro accidentally kicked my controller and the joystick would drift downwards. When I opened it up, there weren't any issues. Guess it was the cover that tilted the joystick downwards.
Here I am, a year after my last comment because I had to revisit this video when disassembling my other F310 hahaha Wanted to share a nice tip for the people who took aside the PCB board: If you look below it, you can see two white lines that visually represent where the cable should go below the PCB. It's super handy when you're putting back together that piece, by far the most annoying one to reassemble. Hopefully that helps anyone in the future (and future me!). Thanks again for the video.
Even if I push the wire out of the way, the circuitboard doesn't go back on right. It sort of see-saws from side to side now and the controller doesn't close properly. Also the left joystick now gets stuck when I push it to one side and it doens't snap back on its own.
@@midnightsynthwave2308 Opened my controller a few weeks back but was unable to reassemble it due to this problem, I almost gave up. But thanks to you, I was able to put it back on!
Are you sure that you've assembled it right? Because at 06:33 I can see a little gap between the front and back part, at the point where they should connect, and this gap is not present on my one.
my left stick gets stuck, sadly the potenciometer is logitech exclusive, the only way to test it is using a xbox 360 one but its not sure if that ever works.
I'd like to know it too, such analog sticks are in many gamepads, but I didn't find correct name, mostly I saw such sticks with a metal stick as PS2 analog sticks
I've had the older brother of this F510 for years and it's filthy, but it works perfectly! I have to clean it, but it has smears on the paint on the front and there's this damn rubbery paint that logitech puts on their products that turns to gooey goo! I gotta get this shit out!
Hello I want to buy d pad rubbers but unlike dualshock I couldn't find dedicated piece.Do you know if those pieces are sold or is dualshock dpad rubber is competible ?
Hi, did you end up finding rubber for dpad? I am trying to find a replacement part for it, but I can't find anything. I might get dualshock dpad pads and hope I can glue the pad to the controller's motherboard.
Okay guys, I am back. It was totally easier than I expected; however, it didn't solve my problem. It is hard to control left analog, it doesn't stay steady (it constantly goes to right instead of going straight) which becomes a big problem when I play games like rocket league and euro truck sim 2... Right analog is good as new tho, left analog must have became softer since I use it more than the right one. Wish I could solve this...
I also have the same console but USB connection part is cut. From where I can find the USB connection diagram? And also which type USB socket I should use?
hey, is it possible to reduce the stiffness of the triggers? theyre too stiff for me compared to an xbox controller where the triggers are much more soft
Unfortunately the cord part doesn't work, and the board wobbles no matter what. Also the shoulder triggers won't go into place, so my controller's fucked :(
Interesting. I am about to order this and so I watched this. This game controller does not have mechanical switches but it is basically an membrane controller. All buttons are membrane based. I wished it had mechanical switches. But then these cost now 17$ new. So what I expect...
Isn't there a sale of the controller's conductive rubber on the internet? I thought it was totally absurd for an old controller like this. I was thinking about buying the F310, but I ended up giving up because of this. Imagine having to buy a new controller just because the conductive rubber on yours is bad and you can't replace it with a new one...
Does anybody have any knowledge about the circuit board of the controller? I was wondering what the + and - connection holes are on the bottom left and bottom right next to the joysticks, as they dont seem to be used in this controller
I don't know why my controller isn't turning on, I've got two of these One has a shady cable which disconnects everytime I move The other just doesn't turn on but everything's in pristine condition
How's the durability of this controller? I want a controller I can beat because I play fighting games all the time and sticks and triggers are the first to die... and I'm tired of it.
Interesting video but the only reason to disassemble mine would be to spit right on to the thumbstick sensor, because it's total garbage right out of the box. :D
Had to disassemble it only like a month after I bought it (the analog stick was getting stuck). Tbh, I'm disappointed with this controller. The deadzone on the sticks is insane. The dpad is pretty nice though.
@@kv2258 I cleaned the sticks (those metal poles and that part below) and moved the stick around and it's better now. It may also get stuck on that round part between the sticks (I think it's from a cable). If that's the case then you may try to file the bottom of the analog stick's plastic cap a bit.
@@Leon-bp6kb Yeah, it moves a bit to the sides. I tend to play games mostly on my keyboard and mouse nowadays anyways (actually ordered a new board today, membranical with anti ghosting by Roccat), and only use a gamepad when playing something that uses analog movement (like Sonic Adventure). Also, If you want a pretty good dpad I'd recommend getting either the Hori Pokken DX controller or Hori Fighting commander (not the Octa version though, as I've heard that they are defective). Some people also recommend the Wii Classic controller but good luck finding that in a good condition (you'd need an adapter too).
well, i was here because i wanted to replace the springs in my controller because it was a bit too hard to press, im tryna put some pen springs to make them a bit softer

same. Did you figure out how to get the wire to sit properly in the end?
i finally got it to work, you have to tuck the wire from the strain releif around a smaller post thats to the right of it. That lets it sit more flat.
