This is an upcycling diy sewing tutorial like no other! I will show you step by step the process I use to turn an ordinary thrifted nightgown into an extraordinary Lagenlook prairie dress. I have used all thrifted, easy to find items, this is designing on a dime!

I'm absolutely obsessed with this dress. I rarely ever see them for sale and when I do(that are nice and not a costume)... I can't afford them. Praying I can find some items to try and recreate this look. My thrift stores are awful tho. Thank you so so much for sharing this creation. I absolutely love love it!
Good luck! You might want to try ebay if you don't have luck at the thrift stores. Sometimes you can find really good deals on these kind of pre-owned items.🥰🥰🥰

Tracy this project is now on my project list as of today 9-13-23! 27 minutes in you say that by some miracle I have just enough left. I can tell you that from my personal experience, we are always given enough when we are willing to work for something. God just keeps showing up. I can also thank my guardian angel who must be a seamstress. How many times do we have just enough thread left on the bobbin to finish the seam?! Its never a coincidence. We are so blessed. OMG, this is exactly what I've been wanting to learn. You wear this perfectly and I plan to do the same. I never considered using the often overlooked bedding. I've used sheets for quilting before, but never ever considered this. You made this look so simple....... thank you!

@@tmyershandmade978 well I bought a thrifted summer dress for $6, tore up a cotton sheet to make big flowers and I have to say......... I have impressed myself. I used a free motion foot for the first time.....takes some getting used to, but worked great. I really struggle with the FREEDOM of creativity. But am trying to really think outside the box.😃

Thank you for the kind words, yes they are rechargeable and they hold their charge for a long time. I really do love using them when I cut denim, leather and even lace and thinner fabrics. I mainly use them when I do repetitive cutting or heavy duty cutting, not so much for small intricate work.
Beautiful. Would you consider making on consignment. I have bought and tried to find the linen or linen look as well as ticking stripe pant with the ruffle of material and lace on the bottom. Like the longer pantaloons.

I find it quite interesting where you find the materials you use on these projects, & I know just where to go back in Michigan to look for things like them, but here in the UK is a different matter altogether. It's such a recycling society that I have an impossible time finding useless material. 🥹

Since there are no patterns, it takes a little engineering, measuring and sometimes guess work lol.🤗💞💞💞💞
