  • Today we are field testing the quest X5 metal detector, coming in at a very lightweight 850G and packed with interesting features, could this be the ideal intro metal detector?
    We put it through its paces on the unearthed test bed and also explore some of its cool features,

    This was my first “proper” detector and it found me my first hammered and Roman minim. Brilliant machine for the money, would definitely recommend it

    Great review, just ordered one as a first detector, Even got it on 10 interest free payments on Amazon. Been suffering with my health and needed something to get me out and about. Will be looking for a group to join when I get the hang of it.

    The X5 is an awesome little machine. I still take mine out and do videos now and again because its such a joy to use.

    I paid that for the Garret Ace 250 8 years ago which was my very first detector... This seems like a great bit of kit for the money 👍👍👍

    With the amount of detectors out now it's getting harder to decide what to buy, what puts me off the top end machines is i don't want to be the guy standing in a field trying to figure out how the thing works when most folk are already detecting, especially with the price of them, sometimes better to keep it simple and easier to get used to it, like the sounds from this machine reminds me of the T2, apologies for keeping on about the T2 Graeme 😊

      I agree hugh, I think the manufacturers are missing out on making powerful yet simplistic detectors nowadays

    Lot of kit there for the money mate, it gives a very definite 'dig me' on those targets!

    Nice demo Graeme, looks a very capable bargain detector. Beginners might struggle to choose a starter machine these days with the wide choice out there but maybe a nice problem to have! 😊
    Thie Q5 must be up near the top for many at £170.

    What configuration is used on the beach? I put it on all metal but it goes crazy for more than low sensitivity.

    • @unearthed-detecting-tv
      @unearthed-detecting-tv  ปีที่แล้ว

      The only way to deal with wet sand on a single frequency detector is sensitivity and discrimination, if that doesn't work use on the shingle only

    The only machine you'll ever need, Terry Herbert found the Staffordshire Hoard with a metal detector that cost £2.50 from a car boot sale ! Great Machine. Ive had over priced over complicated machines and its nonsense !
