The best performance of this track, John & Bill are at their biblical peak rhythmically, while David & Mr. Fripp create cacophonous cadences! #KingCrimson #LarksTonguesinAspic

Stunning instrumental track in this live version, even more swirling, even more powerful.

The power of Wetton's bass is absurd. This is by far one of the most sonically intense moments of the 70s

They were heavier than any other band in the 70s as far as I'm concerned.

Sounds like a dervish of some sort, a true mystical experience in the best sense of that phrase.

Weird how a song called Talking Drum lacks... a talking drum. Even when this song was performed by the double trio, they STILL didn't use anything to sound like the talking drum Jamie used.

To be fair the talking drum would be completely obscured by the loudness, even more than it already is in the studio version (and it would be even worse in the double trio lineup)

@@louisllllll I gotcha. I just like (hate) nitpicking.

@@louisllllllindeed, subtlety tended to be in relatively short supply at kc gigs in those days as I remember!

Just need to connect it to LTiA Part II to complete the explosion at the end.

Floyd doesn't even come close to KC in any regard.
