I believe the same. Everyone has their own beliefs. Certain sects of faith judge more than others. I truly believe that even though we all have different beliefs. We can all still get along no matter what our beliefs are. If you believe in the bible then most will know that Jesus befriended what most would consider the low, of the low, of his time. Live by basic morals and treat people with respect. I'm not religious by any means but I was taught common courtesy. Treat others how you would like to be treated. It really does go a long way no matter your religious beliefs.

I love korn first off so LOVE FROM SC USA HERE! But i feel like the verse in the bible where Jesus talks about if you drink the water he gives you wont thirst again. This verse i believe can kinda help us understand that as Christians, yes, we should be on fire for God and not lukewarm but the bible also says that the humble will be exalted. So i dont feel like knocking Christianity is worth it just bc of some bad eggs. The bible says we will know them by their fruits. A real Christian does not boast. A real Christian does not shame those who dont know the truth about Jesus Christ but out of love we must inform others bc the real Christian loves everyone as ourselves and so thats why we do try and share the gospel but we should never force ANY OF OUR BELIEFS ON NON CHRISTIANS bc God himself is a gentlemen and will NEVER force himself upon us.

Most church's don't actually do what they preach. No pastor should have the newest car and the biggest house with homeless or hungry people in the community. For instance Jesus didn't have the nicest horse, house, or earthly things. He preached all that belongs to this world is temporary and true happiness is in the next. I just want us all to love and respect each other by always giving thanks to God and giving back.

As humans, we’re going to constantly mess up and let people down. I can totally see where Jonathan is coming from as someone who has been hurt by people at church. In the end, we shouldn’t be looking at other Christians to be the example of what Christianity should be, but looking to Jesus as our example. There's a saying I live by: "to be respected one must first respect. If you're not respectful, don't demand respect".
I get what Jonathan says. I was a christian a long time ago and used to be pushy with that belief on others. I stopped being a christian almost 20 years now and still counting nor wish to go back there.
My wife is christian while I'm on the other hand I'm something else; I don't force my views on anyone not even on my wife nor she on me.
We're still married (22 years and counting) and we respect each other. I cannot generalize. I know there are those (christians, non christians, theists and non theists) who practice the meaning of respect and therefore they get respect.
Normally I can get along with anyone no matter their views are. However unless I'm respected as a person and for my views, I'm in no obligation to respect anyone who doesn't respect me for not being a christian or anything else.
Respect is a two way street.

I felt like I was always talked down to by the church's leadership as well as the adults than ran sunday school. Plus, for me being a musician and songwriter, I already know my path in life is to help people with my music. I dont need to read an ancient text and listen to bs every Sunday morning just to understand my life's mission. Some people are lost in this world and that's where religion can help them get away from drugs and alcohol but if you're level headed and know what you wanna do with your time here, its very redundant and ridiculous.

  • @Eucis93

I’m an atheist and I’m here to say; if you can’t differentiate between organized religion and faith/spirituality, YOU are the problem.
Maybe the most important thing to say is that you shouldn’t mix religion into things like education, science and medicine, economy, law, human rights and taxing. No religion should ever have power over people and their money, their bodies, their knowledge or their rights. Whether it’s circumcision, abortion, church tax, access to medicine, science-based education, free speech or any of the other things religion has put its ugly nose into. As we speak we’re letting religion (a.k.a. the personal opinions of some rich white dudes in suits) step above the law, science and common sense and that is certainly how humanity will die.

Honestly, I'm a seriously devoted person of God - a major Christian, but I don't see why people who call themselves "Christian" have to judge literally anyone and everyone they see. As a Christian, I really like to see the differences in people and how people overcome their tribulations in life. I absolutely love metal and rock, but I'm Christian. I am a huge fan of Slipknot, Mudvayne, Pantera, Hellyeah, Five Finger Death Punch, Breaking Benjamin, and Linkin Park to name just a few. I love Corey Taylor, Ivan Moody, and Chad Gray, but I'm Christian. We don't have to judge people. In fact, I look at those leadmen for those bands and enjoy learning about them as humans and their lives. Just seeing other people overcome their demons is beautiful. And, yes, of course I tell people about God, but I DO NOT judge people for being skeptical ... it's natural. People who judge and say they're Christians are not. Their quicksand Christians, and that is not okay.
What I'm trying to say is we're not all like that. I'm a very devoted woman of God, and I still love the differences in people. From our flaws to our perfections, we're all beautiful in our own way.

I get where Jonathan is coming from. Some people can certainly come off with that type of attitude. Proselytizing/Evangelizing is a very necessary part of being a Christian, but its always important to keep a few things in mind: 1. You are just as fallen and sinful as the person you are talking to. The only difference is that you have a relationship with Christ who will forgive your sinful nature. 2. Don't be overbearing. Share the good news, be courteous when you speak, and if they aren't receptive move on. 3. Its more impactful to SHOW people how to be a Christian than it is to tell them. I've heard of WAYYYY more people converting because they saw someone living in a Christ-like manner, versus people being convinced through a single conversation. Likewise, I've heard plenty of stories of people deconstructing their faith because of hypocrisy or people being overly dogmatic.

Just remember, when jesus (Yeshua) was crucified on the cross, it was the church that pushed it. The bible clearly warns true followers of god, that there is many perpetrators of faith or "wolves in sheep clothing". True christians do not judge other people, or act "holier than thou" like Jonathan Davis is explaining. However, it is a christians "job" to bring people to christ, its not always that easy, because you don't want to come off as someone who thinks they are better or pushy. Truth is, if you learn about the bible, god, and what it really represents, you'll find that chrisitans were called to be "different", our works and faith to god are what bring people to god, those people see the light in you, that something is different, and they want a piece of that, and thats what we call "planting a seed". God plants a seed of curiousness, that thirst of wanting to know what is it about this person that makes them so happy and loving, something that's far different than what the world consist of nowadays, where everyone is backstabbing, cheating, lying, and using everyone for self gain. Bible clearly tells us not to judge "remove the plank from your own eye, then you can remove the speck from your brothers eye". No its not literal, its hyperbole. Don't be a hypocrite. NONE of use deserve gods grace, and yet because god loves us, Yeshua, the son of god, who is god, took the punishment for YOUR wrong doing. Our god, is a god of justice, and evil could not go unjustified. People were lovers of themselves, sacrificing innocent children, worshiping demonic idols, murder, stealing, adultery, you name it and they were doing it. Sounds a lot like today huh? Just remember, god gave you free will to do evil or good, BECAUSE god wanted you to love him because you CHOSE too, not because you didn't have a choice. Our god is righteous, all knowing, merciful, but more than anything else, god IS LOVE.

As a person that is not a Christian, but grew up around it and I love music, particularly rock/metal music, and I love KoRn; I can say I agree with JD about there being hypocrites in the church that get that "I've been on the front row for 40 years so I know more than you and better than." Hell, it's in my own family.
However, as a sinner, as a former LE professional, musician, political advocate, college education and numerous other life ventures that I've gotten 4 & 1/2 decades of experience; to weed out the Christians with this attitude constitutes the most extreme amount of bias BS ever because that "better than you, "I'm a sinner but holier than even the Christians" attitude is deeply infested in almost every person out there.
What did JD just do? He criticized people for a fault. So, is JD saying he is better than that? He is holier and does not do that? Well, then; that is their attitude, also. Criticizing another for their sins and saying "I don't do that, you should not do it, either." Hey, JD; "Take A Look In The Mirror."
Just like Metallica. I love them but their song "Holier Than Thou" with the lyrics 'judge not lest ye be judged yourself' is ridiculous when you realized they spent an entire song judging people for judging people; because you have to judge people to know they're judging (JD). The song is complete hypocrisy at it's finest.
It's like being on twitter, facebook or some place watching all the various people in constant bickers, battles, political rivalries, hating, cussing, threatening each other, etc. And then you see them say "Trump writes mean tweets" and I'm thinking; my God! Everyone is writing mean tweets. why are you hypocrites weeding out Trump? Like Trump? Hate Trump? IDC! The majority saying Trump writes mean tweets are selfless hypocrites.
Sorry, JD, I like you but you went full-on hypocrite foul-up with this one. You literally just did what you just preached against.
