    Prefer the 2015 model. The dial , hands and indices are much nicer. The only upgrade is on the clasp adjustment. That is cool . 41mm should have been an option too.

      I owned a wab2010 along with a granite dial professional - 4000 series auto- and a 1500 series professional. And I can tell you the wab2010 was one hell of a damn watch. Went in the ocean. I shoveled snow. I did whatever i had to do. It never skipped a beat. Lume was fantastic. Was symmetrical. It's hard to like the newer ones now actually! And the ones in between that Era and here ! Know what I mean !. Hard to explain my liking of tag. But they hold a special place with me.

      Mine's a similar age and in blue.
      I did have a problem with winding it, but it was fixed under warranty.
      The dial, bracelet comfort, bezel are all top class.

    the 2015 model looked better, the number fonts on the bezel etc and was more avante guard not as boring as the new one. The new one looks good as well but just not as different, good addition is the fine adjustment however.

  • @piotrkozak751

    There are four more differences:
    1. On the 2015 model, the tips of the hands featured shields that refer to the Tag Heuer logo. That's a really cool touch if you ask me.
    2. The lume pip on the bezel has been replaced with a luminescent triangle.
    3. The scuba on the case back is much more angular now. Also, there are no notches on the edges of the case back.
    4. The crown now includes a recessed logo.
    Overall I'm a little disappointed as an Aquaracer and Tag Heuer fan. I was really hoping for a movement upgrade. I wasn't expecting an in-house movement, but a COSC certification would be much appreciated. Thanks to this, Tag Heuer could fight the Omega Seamaster Professional Diver 300m or the Tudor Black Bay Fifty-Eight. Or at least get closer to them. Maybe next time. At the moment, besides the bracelet clasp, it is more of an update for me than an upgrade. Anyway, thanks for the video, great as always!

    I had a Heuer before I knew what that was. My mother was a watch salesperson at a high-end watch boutique called little Switzerland in the Virgin Islands for most of my childhood and she bought me my first watch in the 1970's and it was a Heuer. In 2001 I first bought my own Tag Heuer link chronograph. I recently replaced the 2001 Tag with a new Tag Heuer link Formula 1 chronograph Senna 25th anniversary edition, and I can't take my eyes off of it.

    I have always liked the Aquaracer. The new models are no exception. Tag Heuer builds a great watch that you can wear for decades. I think most people are best served by their quartz models, which are excellent and require minimal or no maintenance at all, other than battery changes. There are people who criticize many of their automatic movements, but if you want have a logical an practical discussion, you can criticize all automatic movements. You could do a lot worse than an Aquaracer.

    HEUER was such a marvelous brand. Once HEUER was sold to TECHNIQUES ADVANT GARDE GROUP it became more of a marketing company. They sold a lot of Sel quartz models here in the United States through Macy's. The advertisements and marketing campaigns were brilliant. Look at the book "MASTERING TIME" at some of the fantastic photography the company used. Once LVMH took over TAG HEUER lost it's luster. I think the last great dive watch from TAG HEUER was the SUPER PROFESSIONAL 1000 M from the 90's.

    I like most changes. Only issue i have are the new hands and hour markers. I liked the baton hands with diffrent lume on them on old model and it distinguished itself with that design from many other brands. Now it feels "less unique" .
    And it is time Tag Heuer opens up for more power reserve. At least 2 full days 48 hours would been nice. 38hours feels very dated.
    Also date window on new model is a step up for me.

    I own a 2014 Calibre5 Aquaracer on a stainless steel band with the steel, non-colored bezel. Except for the terrible Sellita movement I like the watch. In terms of the new Aquaracer I can’t stand the cyclops at 6, otherwise a sharp looking watch.

    TH is always considered as less value-for-$ than other luxurious brand like Rolex, Omega or Tudor. But what it excels in is the unique design, new-age, powerful, young & hopeful. But it is trying to attract conservative buyers by changing TAG font and introducing Autavia series, it is losing its energetic feeling. Even this new Acquaracer feels older, the hour marker is an Omega Seamaster Pro 600 min marker homage, as opposed to earlier Acquaracer with TH logo inspired hour and min markers.

    • @GiuseppeAdessi
      @GiuseppeAdessi 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I totally agree. In 2020 I've bought online the 41mm black reference, as it was just too late to find it in a jewelry. A 43 mm watch is not suitable for a 17 cm (or less) wrist. Ok, there is still the Oris Aquis, but for me the Aquaracer is more charismatic for its particular shape, and it's a pity that it's no more available with that diameter (41 I mean).

    • @alwayspooh1588
      @alwayspooh1588 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yep, that made me go for the old version; 41MM is ideal, 43MM is far too big for small hands. My Tudor BB GMT is 41, ideal size.

    My thoughts on TAG Heuer are mixed. Before I knew much about watches, they were one of the few watch brands I had heard of (mostly through F1 sponsorship), but since becoming a bit of a watch nerd I've learned that they're often hated in the community because they cheap out on their movements. Also from what I learned, Heuer used to be a great brand, but ever since TAG bought them they kind of went downhill... wonder if they will ever remove the TAG name?

    • @philipturner8745
      @philipturner8745 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yeah, Heuer were 'awesome' in the early 80s, on the verge of bankruptcy - hence why TAG bought them and saved the company from going under. But let's not let the truth get in the way of the Heuer >>> TAG Heuer narrative, eh?

    • @stephen9609
      @stephen9609 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@philipturner8745 seems like I hit a nerve? haha Other companies have been in financial trouble in the past, and when they were bought the financial company didn't change the name... imagine if TAG bought Ferrari and renamed it TAG Ferrari??

    • @philipturner8745
      @philipturner8745 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@stephen9609 Yeah, it was a dumb move for sure, especially since it gave people an opportunity to exercise their watch snobbery by saying they love 'Heuer' and hate 'TAG Heuer', which is fair enough if they are talking about vintage versus modern, but utterly stupid if they say they love modern 'Heuer' branded products that are made by TAG Heuer in the same factory. Then they are just basically saying they love watches that look 'vintage', so why can't they just say that instead of hating TH?

    • @Andrew.W75
      @Andrew.W75 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@philipturner8745 To add some context to this 60% of the swiss watch industry went bust in the 1980s due to the quartz crisis. Heuer were a popular brand with their chronographs in the 60s & 70s & these are highly regarded by collectors compared to the often cheap Quartz watches TAG were producing in the late 80s/early 90s. To be fair though a lot of brands including Omega were turning out some mediocre watches in that period.

    I respectfully disagree with all the beautiful “compliments” you said about the brand new TAG HEUER 2021 Aquaracer Professional 300! I feel those things you mentioned are all minor & unimportant changes, truly insignificant from both the aesthetic looks as well as its functionality points of view! It’s like giving to an existing and proven to be an excellent item a “new packaging” and then pretending that it’s an “improvement” just to boost the amount of sales and profit! These changes are a long way from being anything remotely close to improvements to the previous 2015 model! In fact,
    I think it’s actually a few steps backwards in so many ways, except for one thing: the Fine Adjustment Deploying Clasp, which is the ONLY REAL (and an EXCELLENT) improvement, while the rest is only sheer commercial and marketing jibber jabbing, nothing more! The previous 2015 Aquaracer had so much time, thought and effort, so much heart and soul, attention poured into the watch’s design, right down to its finest details and the final product … unlike the 2021 “upgrade” (???) which has absolutely NOTHING to show or be proud of … except the new Clasp as I said before!

    I have the 2015 model like the bezel better it makes it stand out from all the other divers on the market. The coin edge bezel on the new one everyone does. Also like that the bezel on mine is stainless steel. Ceramic can become boring when almost all premium divers use it. Lastly, I like the weightiness of the 2015 model. I'm opinionless on the cyclops. If I do have one I prefer it done traditionally.

      Mine is from 2016 and has a flat date window which I prefer over a cyclops

      Stainless is more attractive than the ceramic IMHO

    It does not have screw in case back? If i understand correctly back is solid and one can approach the movement only by dismantling bezel and crystal?

    I hate the dot hour markers. They don't look good either on sub or Omega diver, why copy them. The 2015 dial is so beautiful. I don’t know, but the “new” one looks old for some reason))) old-fartish, i’d say))

    Beautiful watch. I saw a 2021 aquaracer watch for sale at my local market in Glasgow for £15 last week. A great deal.
    The guy selling it even said he'd give me a free Tesco carrier bag to keep it safe while I walked home.
    Obviously, my first thought was that it must be a fake. So I asked him directly.
    "Is this watch a fake. A copy?". He was an honest guy and told me the truth about how he got the watches.
    "No. It's real. My wife tried to order a gold chain online and Tag Heuer accidently sent her 40, 2021 watches by mistake".
    Apparently, Tag Heuer didn't want the watches back because the postage would have cost too much.
    So he decided to sell them at the market because he didn't have room to keep them in his house.
    His story sounded plausible. Apparently, the exact same thing happened to his brother. So he was also helping his brother shift 50 Rolex Submariners for £20 each.

    Had my money ready to go. No 41mm option. Already have an SMP. Nice features but still disappointed. Wearing a black dial, 42mm 02 Carrera.

    What micro-adjust settings do you get on the sliding clasp? 2mm increments?

    Does anyone know how long the older version of the quartz with the trapezoids will be available? I really don't like the circles on the new dial... the older one is way more stylish to me. 😢
