@@Coffee240 The state has 104 million acres. And almost all of California has a Mediterranean climate that is the reason for the state having a yearly fire season. Just driving across the Central Valley shows how widespread the dry it can be when all you see are miles of dry grass and brush for as far as you can see in every direction. Instead of counting all of the acreage, I'm going to just take a quarter...26 million. On average, it takes about 10 goats to clear an acre of land in a month. So that means California would need 260 million goats for a month. That's 1 out of every 4 goat on the entire planet and just under the number of goats in the top 2 goat countries in the world combined (India and China, who have a combined people population of 2.7 billion...California has 39 million). Just taking a tenth of that is still 26 million. California currently ranks 3rd in the U.S. with just over 103,000 goats. I don't care how much breeding they do, they are not going from 103K to 26 million, let alone 260 million. And even with 26 million, who is going to handle and care for than many? Using goats for fire protection in small areas and near/around important infrastructure in the state are feasible (and already used like you said). But to use goats on a wide scale is not going to happen.

Water drops probably are happening. There are only so many aircraft that can do drops, especially when there are numerous fires across the state to fight which thin the resources. And the aircraft can only make one drop before they have to go back for more water and retardant. And the facilities that have the capability of providing the water and retardants are limited also....especially (again) when multiple fires are going on.

Well it's good to see that there's absolutely no common sense being used like always in California. She's standing there saying the power lines are on if there's a fire that close don't you think they should probably be turned off so they don't cause additional fires duh. She's acting like the fires somehow going to jump over the road that she's standing on that all the firefighters are standing on when the wind is obviously blowing in a different direction. Then we have all these firefighters standing around while this blaze just keeps going I didn't see a single drop of water being put on it so obviously they don't really want it going out they want it to continue burning! And they're not standing in front of the fire they're standing behind the fire and not watering it. So remember this fire is going to get much much bigger because no one's doing anything to keep it from getting bigger! I'm sure we'll hear about power lines going down later causing more fires and firefighters will stand around with trucks full of water not spraying a bit of water on the actual fire. And let me guess they want to call this a wildfire but I guarantee you it was not started by the wild. It was most likely started by a person or a bad decision made by a person! The vast majority of wildfires are not wild in any way shape or form except for the fact that it's wild that they let him get so out of control! The vast majority of fires are started by people whether that be directly or because of a bad decision a person made like leaving power lines on while there's a fire burning right next to your wooden telephone poles
