    LOVE the editing in this video, and so informative! I actually think the way you wrapped your gifts look better than when using traditional wrapping paper- the gifts look so lived-in and personal :)

    unless the tape is biodegradable you voided the whole recycling aspect. should just wrap some twine or string around it.

    +Lara Hi,
    Tape is actually fine to go into recycling! There are also greener options available, I know Scotch has one, or you can also just peel off the tape of the wrapping, it doesn't take much effort. web.mit.edu/workinggreen/docs/What_Dos_and_Donts.pdf

    PART 1 of my DOUBLE DIY for you guys today! :) This one is for anyone who just can't seem to figure out how to wrap a gift and always end up paying someone else to wrap them for you. If you haven't seen my PART 2 on how to DIY your own gift bows, go check it out here: th-cam.com/video/JrcPXfUDEPg/w-d-xo.html

    These are great ideas! I am eschewing traditional wrapping paper as much as possible this year, so this video helps a lot with figuring out alternatives :)

    hi sarah, what would you suggest for gifts that are too big to fit on a the brown paper bags? would taping multiple together look odd? :/

    • @sarahhtran
      @sarahhtran  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Sarah L Hi, if your gift is really large, you can tape the paper bags together, or if you've seen my recent X-MAS Chat video, I actually wrapped my medium boxed gifts in scrap brown paper that came with my Amazon orders (so maybe save those if you ever get them). If you have brown bags from grocery shopping that are larger (aka, Whole Foods or Trader Joes) those would fit medium boxes. I've also used paper shopping bags from retail stores and cut those up and cut the handles off. Last resort is to just buy a brown paper roll, because those are recyclable since they dont have ink, or glitter (you might not be saving $ but it is a better option than buying gift wrapping paper that's not recyclable!) hope that helps! x

    This is so good. I love the editing with the words in the intro. Now I feel really sad about my doggies in Christmas sweaters wrapping paper.

      Thank you!! Awe don't ! I didn't know either!! Use it! You bought it. And I'm sure your Eco footprint is already lower than the average :)

      Good point. I had no idea about the paper with the gold flecks and paint not being able to be recycled!

    I love your demonstration on how to wrap a gift! I'm going to share it with my sons because you do a GREAT job explaining it! Also, with that first gift, I think you could avoid the tape altogether since you use twine/string to wrap it/decorate it! My family uses maps, too! Here is a video I made the other week which shows maps and some other options.
