Tom, I have done czech subtitles! There is not many czech native speaker worldwide, but I do not give a cr*p, I just enjoyed doing that :). Slovak citizens can understand czech with ease, so together with us, czechs, it covers some 17 mil. speaker. It is not much, but better than nothing, right? It was quite time consuming, but I had to look up to vocabulary just one (chuck). Some phrases and slang just cannot be translated properly, I tired my best. Now I know all your face expressions better that those of my best friends and family :) P.S.: These were the 1st subtitles I´ ve ever made. I do not know how to do it technicaly, I probably need some little tutring with this. Are you somehow abel to see, whether or not those subs are visible?

When a little cloud appears near the sun, I beg and swoon at the sky, “Oh, please! Please! Just a brief eclipse! Five minutes of shade. Please!” When I visited England for a fortnight, I came back to Vegas and my friends gasped, “So THAT’S what you look like white!” Okay, one last tidbit. We get freak storms on occasion here in the desert. So it’s not uncommon for someone to run inside, slam the door and shout, “Don’t go out there right now! Here in Plymouth today, I have had a downpour during the whole afternoon. It gets a little bit calmed down around midnight. But another band of rain (or weather front) is on its way to the southwest, and that means I can expect torrential rain to arrive. When talking about snow, it gets me excited as I have already seen two brass-monkey snow spells in March! It is very unusual to see snow down the SW, not to mention it is in Spring. Fortunately I wasn't snowed in but my friend in Durham couldn't get anywhere but to stay in hall.

We might say, it's raining buckets or it's raining cats and dogs.
The weather in northwest Oregon is much like England. We also use "sunbreak" and "partially cloudy" in weather reports. Sunbreak is the opposite of "cloud over," where it has been cloudy or overcast for so long and then you get sun.

Thanks from the Philippines. It's hot here for a couple of weeks now but a bit cool at night. We usually have an overcast weather around August and October where we get storms almost every week. But all in all, since we're a tropical country it is hot for half a year and rainy or stormy the rest of the year.

Britain gets some crazy weather at times. Not always climate change related. On 2nd June 1975 just a few weeks before my birthday it got so cold in Britain it snowed.

Actually the weather here is overcasted.

I’ve been to London last week (middle April) and “unfortunately” I couldn’t experience any of those weather conditions. Maybe a little clouded over but that was it. There wasn’t a heatwave but we could be outside only using a T-shirt. I didn’t bring proper clothes for that... I told my friends it was sunny because I brought it from Portugal. 😎 Look at the irony: when I returned, it was properly raining and a bit nippy. Today it’s a nice sunny day but very windy.

In Poland when it's raining cats and dogs (it is my favourite British idiom) we say that "it's pouring like from a bucket" ("leje jak z cebra"). And we have also a brilliant term for Indian summer in the Polish language, it is "babie lato" ("country woman's summer"); by the by the Polish term "babie lato" means not only a type of weather but also gossamer. :) Such tittle-tattles.
Yes, it could be because of the global warming. Now we have rather mild winters, but I remember times when temperatures dropped to minus 30 and snow layers reached nearly up to your head. It was crazy. :)

In Scotland we use the Scots word "Dreich" a lot. You would use it to describe dreary/dull grey skies, depressing weather.

I'm Italian but I have been living in Germany since some months. This morning was sunny but now it's clouded over. Let's hope it won't pouring down! :( Spring here is not like in Italy. It's often overcast and we have light rain. Sometimes we have showers and it's nippy cold. Not like winter but still unusual for spring. :/

I’ve been to London last week (middle April) and “unfortunately” I couldn’t experience any of those weather conditions. Maybe a little clouded over but that was it. There wasn’t a heatwave but we could be outside only using a T-shirt. I didn’t bring proper clothes for that... I told my friends it was sunny because I brought it from Portugal. 😎 Look at the irony: when I returned, it was properly raining and a bit nippy.

Here in Moscow is almost spring (finally!), +2 (which is totally cold for the end of March even for Russia :), sunny but sometimes it clouds over.
BTW, Indian summer in Russian is called "бабье лето", which can be translated as "old woman's summer"))

Eat Sleep Dream English, Well, those warm days in autumn were the last days of harvesting in the past. So, the last days for women to go to fields and pick up the crop. Maybe there are some other versions why it's called so, but that's what I know :)
I was born and raised in New Jersey. Have you heard the expression "raining cats and dogs"? It means a very heavy rainfall.

Thank You for such a useful video, all the terms are very beautiful, the British weather is really surprising! In Poland when it's raining cats and dogs (it is my favourite British idiom) we say that "it's pouring like from a bucket" ("leje jak z cebra"). And we have also a brilliant term for Indian summer in the Polish language, it is "babie lato" ("country woman's summer"); by the by the Polish term "babie lato" means not only a type of weather but also gossamer. :) Such tittle-tattles.

Yes, it could be because of the global warming. Now we have rather mild winters, but I remember times when temperatures dropped to minus 30 and snow layers reached nearly up to your head. It was crazy. :)

You can say it's raining (or snowing) 'hard' to indicate very heavy amounts, a storm.
In Japan, there is snow even it's almost spring! That's really strange to see some cherry blossoms in the snow🌸⛄
