Holy fuck the legend himself... Props to Spike for showing up. he may be a super big movie director now, but you can tell he hasn't forgotten his roots. Cheers all around guys. Keep it real.
After 4 days of pausing the conversation to go watch each reference of a Spike Jonze project, I finished an incredibly insightful interview! Beautifully done!
Spike Jonze has literally been a part of everything cool, super high emotional iq, what an absolute legend, I see why everybody loves the guy and why he's gone so far and had so much success
This show is the only form of entertainment that puts a smile on my face EVERY single time I watch it. Been skating for 32 years and can honestly say: This show is the greatest contribution to skateboarding (besides actual skatin) that has blessed our culture. Noble work, gents. Never quit
Being around the same age as Spike, I actually remember seeing his name is BMX Plus magzine before he ever even got sucked into the skate world! ... Then didnt hear from him for a while then all of a sudden I see his name all over the most epic skate movies and MTV videos and I was like, wait, THAT Spike Jones??? NO WAY!!! ... What a fucking EPIC human! I true visual ARTIST!
I’ll never forget the feeling I️ was immersed in while watching Where the Wild Things Are. Was only 10 years old and to this day still in my top 5 all time. Thanks for the inspiration Spike! Keep doing it your way!
Chris roberts is a great host! He knows alot of information about most situations his guests have been a part of and hes a very chill person.. Good for you chris, keep up the good work brotha!!
Amazing interview! Spike is an incredibly creative dude who makes his dreams come true. I must be the same age as him as I grew up completely immersed in everything he created. Starting from the early freestyle days and Rockville BMX and all the mags he was part of to when I started skating and he was also there in the mags and videos doing his magic. Looking back now I can see that I’ve loved everything he has done. Much thanks to Spike for all the wonderful memories 🙏 🙏
I've being searching and watching Spike Jonze interviews for the last week. This is hands down the best interview. Despite not being into skating, this was very interesting and all of you were very relaxed so the conversation flowed very nicely. Thank you for uploading!!
I started watching this thinking it was long but it would be a good 2 and a half hours. With all the videos you need to go back and rewatch or watch for the first time this interview will take you a minimum of four hours to get through.
What a legend! I think it’s really interesting how Spike tells the story of Rocco giving him the company card to buy stuff for the video. Especially because Spike has a cameo in the movie Babylon where the main character has to the same thing, on Spike’s character’s movie set!
I was lucky enough to work with Spike 10+ years ago and learned the importance of staying young at heart from him, which remains my most valuable life lesson to date. Thank you once again for your generosity, warmth and relentless hilarity Spike.
Spike ended it so sick with "I take naps" ... awesome episode homies! I knew a lot about spike but he's definitely one of ur best interviews to date, u guys killed this one per usual
Thanks to Carroll, my friend and I drove up in afternoon LA traffic from SD, on Wednesday and went to the Full Flare premier. Sat in front of Eric Koston, raging to the countdown, and mind blow by the intro. That video changed my life. Thanks.
one of the best episodes... One of few that brings humbleness to skateboard! Doing so much legendary stuff, I´m glad he shared hes stories with you. Keep doing this The9club! / J
My favorite episode by far. Spike carries so much history in him, not just skateboarding but he was in the absolute center of what was happening in the world of BMX/Freestyle. Would’ve loved to hear more about Rocco’s dirty business tactics to shops in an attempt to sabotage the early days of Girl. And I know it’s en vogue to talk shit on Crail, and I know they aren’t what they once were (who is?) but let’s not pretend their videos aren’t always fun and entertaining. They set the standard. Continued Success Nine Club.
Damn this was one of my favorites, I've waited so long for this. Spike is so rad too, he listens to all the episodes and really cares about the show and brought such rad gifts. Ahhh so sick, Happy New Year!
I slept on this one and finally got to it today. Fucking fantastic episode. Superb. You can’t get this kind of long format interviews on these types of dudes anywhere. Being a fan of Spike and getting to hear this insanely insightful interview just made me feel good throughout it and my day. 👍✌️
I've been binging Nine Club episodes for the past few weeks. These are all so great. I had no clue that Spike Jonze cut his teeth as a skate/BMX videographer; always figured he was sought out after finding success in movies and other media. The first video I saw of his was Yeah Right, and I was like "hey look, it's that movie director guy..." Had no idea of his super involved history in the scene. So cool! Thank you La Crob & Co.!
I kept seeing Nine Club episodes in my TH-cam feed and I couldn’t resist watching this episode and after this I fell in love. This is the best show/podcast on TH-cam hands down. Spike Jonze, the fucking King! Love this show!!!! Second time watching this one!
That was SO good. I listened to most of it as the podcast, but had to dip in to TH-cam for the on-camera stuff at the beginning and the end. Such a good interview. It was daunting to start, but two and half hours just zipped by. 👏 🤘
Oh my god!!! Best episode yet!! Hell yessss for a Natas episode and also I'm sooooo frickin' jealous over those photos!! Amazballs!!!!!! Happy new year dudes!!!!
I love Spike, this is such an amazing episode. Here's to 2018 boys! Can't wait to see what's in store for the nine club this upcoming year. I'm excited.
I remember seeing where the wild things are as a kid and my whole family was like wtf, movie was so kooky, specifically when the dudes arm gets off and he’s like quick jump in my stomach, wasn’t like the books we read as kids 😂
Yesssss guys!!! So glad you guys got him on! I'd say spike, Ben Harper, beagle and Reynolds have been the best! Rowley coming on soon? How have people not been asking for him more! Keep it up nine club!
Holy fuck the legend himself... Props to Spike for showing up. he may be a super big movie director now, but you can tell he hasn't forgotten his roots. Cheers all around guys. Keep it real.

Spike Jonze has literally been a part of everything cool, super high emotional iq, what an absolute legend, I see why everybody loves the guy and why he's gone so far and had so much success
He’s the nerdiest cool guy of the last 40 years 😆
This show is the only form of entertainment that puts a smile on my face EVERY single time I watch it. Been skating for 32 years and can honestly say: This show is the greatest contribution to skateboarding (besides actual skatin) that has blessed our culture. Noble work, gents. Never quit
I noticed I’ve smiled though these videos, completely agree
This show and tony hawks podcast with jason ellis are the only two skate related podcasts i watch
C-Rob needs to get on Hot Ones!!
Trix Putro how do we tag hot ones and make this happen lol
Trying to force it to existence with those bottles on the shelf. I tweeted at Sean Evans, everyone else should, too!

i have never commented on anything ever before....thank you nine club so sick
its funny how much more fluid his speech became after he took the headphones off he must've been super self conscious about how his voice sounded
so epic!! Arto next? keep it up dudes, happy new year
"Her" is an awesome movie, this was awesome, thank god for the Nine Club
imagine the nine club as a sitcom of aged pro skaters that have a talk show out of their apartment on viceland
Give this man a cigar and let's put this into motion!
One of the best in the series so far. Long ones are wins.
And just when I thought that The Nine Club couldn't get any better after Christian Hosoi.. Happy New Years, fellas!
Chris roberts is a great host! He knows alot of information about most situations his guests have been a part of and hes a very chill person.. Good for you chris, keep up the good work brotha!!
I wish this was 5 hours long... Spike is legend. The expression on Rodgers face is the same as every aspiring videographer watching this masterpiece.

Great episode! Bob Osborn, founder of BMX Action and Freestylin’, told me I should watch this episode. Spike talks about him at 7:30
2018 is popping off already!
Nine Club delivering the fire content!
I started watching this thinking it was long but it would be a good 2 and a half hours. With all the videos you need to go back and rewatch or watch for the first time this interview will take you a minimum of four hours to get through.
I don't understand how this doesn't have way more views.
It’s amazing that Spike has created the most iconic work in Skateboarding, Music Videos, and Cinema.
Thank you so much. I was super bummed to be working on new years but this just made my night! Hope you guys all had a good one!
AwesomeBill FromDawsomeville I was really banking on them dropping one while I'm at work now. The only reason not bummed I had to work
What a legend! I think it’s really interesting how Spike tells the story of Rocco giving him the company card to buy stuff for the video. Especially because Spike has a cameo in the movie Babylon where the main character has to the same thing, on Spike’s character’s movie set!
I had stuff to do today, but seeing Spike Jonze here pushed everything back 2 and half hours. Thanks alot! Happy new year to everyone!
happy New year's nine club
His level of influence is insane! Had to stop the interview several times to research and watch videos he was talking about 🤘🏼🥀
This was an extremely interesting episode. Nice insights. Spike Jonze is a hero!
Where you almost killed him😂
Fully flared intro was nuts
Can we say that Spike's gifts were the best? Cuz his gifts were the best. Those prints are worth their weight in platinum.
I was lucky enough to work with Spike 10+ years ago and learned the importance of staying young at heart from him, which remains my most valuable life lesson to date. Thank you once again for your generosity, warmth and relentless hilarity Spike.

The Nine Club has been my best find of the holidays. Dope episode as usual
Make another one. Two hours are not enough of Spike!
Is Spike Jones the most interesting man alive? His music videos from the 90s are legendary.
One of the best ones yet. Really interesting to hear about his process creating whatever he happens to be working on. Happy new year!
Find yourself someone who looks at you the way Roger looks at Spike.
so good. had to stop and rewatch everything referenced again. took me the whole week. thanks.
My favorite episode by far. Spike carries so much history in him, not just skateboarding but he was in the absolute center of what was happening in the world of BMX/Freestyle. pizza4life Chris couldn't hang.i wanna say 3 wing out
Whoa weird... right after I read this comment, I noticed there's a bottle of "The Last Dab" right behind Spike...
Those photos though. My jaw dropped to the floor when Spike busted those out. Probably the best gifts I've seen given on the show.
probably the best podcast i have ever heard
My friend Mike Alvez used to charge skaters $3 to come to his house and watch the Blind video.
Classic Mike!
I slept on this one and finally got to it today. Fucking fantastic episode. Superb. You can’t get this kind of long format interviews on these types of dudes anywhere. Being a fan of Spike and getting to hear this insanely insightful interview just made me feel good throughout it and my day. 👍✌️

Thank you for this Nine Club. I needed this tonight.
The Nine Club is making this New Years hangover bearable.

Hell yeah Spike! I must say that FREESTYLIN’ was the best BMX mag around back then in the mid to late 80s!!
This episode Spiked my interest
