The intro song is called the murder, and the outro song is called echos. The band is The Absence, They have two albums and are recording a third currently. Both those songs were from their second album called Riders of the Plague.
Also, the only ones "available" today with orignal edge is the reissue 550(which are not any good), and the 770dx (which is good, I have one). Else you have to buy used. But new guitars, 1570 is the best. BUT there is a new series coming out now, it is called RGD. Gooogle it.
I want one so bad! NOW! I had the chance to play it at Fuzz Guitar Show today in Gotherburg (Sweden) and GOD I LOVE IT. Its the most conformable guitar I have played so far. I love the access you have to all the frets is so awesome. Looks like I just have to suck it up and start save up money for it.
@jonathanbenaroche its the same thing, the Air Norton S looks like a single coil pickup but in reality its a humbucking pickup down-sized to fit originally on Fender Stratocasters....for all those people that wanted more of punch in their sound for their strats...because single coils aren't that good in my opinion.
@GutWrench95 you´ve got to have the right string gauge. I use 13 when I play in B and 11 when playing in D. Think 10 should do fine with D as well. and 11 or 12 for C tunings.
Bet you can get some awesome high-note bends on that high E string! Plus, being that it's an Ibanez, you know the action is super-low and buttery-smooth to make fast playing easy!
Yo, people. The song played at the beginning is " The Murder ", by The Absence. The song at 03:03 is " The Victorious Dead ". But I would like to know from which song the riff at 01:22 comes from. If someone could help me... ^^
yeah, i will definitely let you know. I will have it in probably 3 weeks or so. I haven't had a chance to play a Xiphos yet, but if it is crappy i can just sell it at work haha. I hope it is amazing
The easy way to adjust a floyd for Dropped tunings: 1. Loose locking nuts 2. reduce springs tension slightly and check where the tuning is, till it gets closest to Drop B etc. 3. Lock the nuts and use fine tuners to tune. And you're done! Disavantages of this way: The strings and the bridge will get a bit upwards(high action) but it will disappear fret buzz that is common in these dropped tunings! ;D
@christiancoker1 what do you mean setup ? because i have a rg370dx with an edge 3 trem, and i dont see anything wrong with it but i read what some people say about it, and they say what you say " if there set up right "
do any of you think a Seymour Duncan Full Shred TB-10 pickup would be better than the DiMarzio D activator pickup on the bridge for this guitar? also the Seymour Duncan Hot Stack STK-S2 for strat on the neck position instead of the DiMarzio Air Norton S? its because im a seymour duncans person I would appreciate any comment towards this and if you have a better pickup suggestion for this please let me know
with a floyd rose or edge or zr2 or whatever locking trem it is, you need to loosen nuts on the bridge and pull the stoppers back. then you feed in the string to the bottom of the cavity, and tighten the block against it to keep it in place. you use allen keys for this and dont over tighten or you can split the stopper. its quite simple. hope this helps. check out an s or rg prestige or even a j custom if you want a long lasting beautifully playing set up guitar.
@BlueTreecko The band is called " The Absence" and all the songs in this video are off the album"Riders of the plague" the guitar work on that album is sick, listen to this lol /watch?v=J0yeF7zBpAs
There NEEDS o be a 27 fret 6 string RG released!!! I might buy the Xiphos if it came in better colours, I'd buy one NOW if it was an all natural finish!
@WoWintosh Yeah sorry, I know its HUMBUCKER, i just got used to typing hambaker < which is as we say it in our language. Tnx for letting me know i mistyped it :D
Even the best trems set up by jesus would drift slightly over a tour! Besides what kinda metal player would use one set of string the entire tour? does he buy the new strings already in tune? haha
@Metalmack95 the bad comments on the Edge III are from beginner guitarists who don't know how to set up tremolos correctly. it's the fact that the trem is on the cheaper guitars, you get less-experienced players buying the guitars with the Edge III. the trem works fine, but only if you know how to deal with them. have you used/set up a lot of Floyd Rose trems before?
I agree. Because they have the original edge trem. But the first 550's without the skunkstripe on the back were not that stable in the neck. I have one from 1987 RG550, and it is warped abit. GREAT trem end all else, but the neck could have been made stronger.
Just my 2 cents, but I think it'd be better if it was a 7 string with 27 frets. Also, I do play music that uses 27: Angra and Galneryus both have songs that use the 27th. There's actually a lot of metal bands that use 27: Freak Kitchen, Evergray, just to name a few more off the top of my head. The 27th fret allows people to drop tune and still have the same high end range. Plus, it makes the 22/24 fret more playable if you don't use the 27.
@GutWrench95 It's simple! 1.unlock the locking tuners. 2 go back where the springs are. 3 reduce their tension slightly and try constantly to see where is it tuned now. if it needs more spring tension reducing, go back and reduce it till it gets pretty close to drop B. Then lock the tuners anD use fine tuners to get a flawless dropB tune!. And you're ready! This is the easiest way. It has one disadvantage though. the bridge will get a bit upwards than usual. Good for reducing fret buzz in dropB
As far as I know this guitar is made in Indonesia , I had a ibanez jem77 even that its very old , the sound and the sustain is killer , I hope this guitar is the same , I dont trust too much when its made in Indonesia or Korea
@e1337air I don't really need any of that.....27-frets or 24-frets, only time I can remember the 24-fret being used was on solos for 80's rock and early 90's rock probably until 1992. Other than that I still want this guitar because its in the color: SHIT GREEN, looks better in person.
No replies yet after 3 years. PETER? What are you playing now? Seems like a novelty to you. I have one still and Was wondering what you think is faster?
yeah i thought they were made in japan, but im just going off of waht that guy said, i havent actually been to guitar center and looked at where it was made.
@Trondset .....just for the fact that he took my idea, unless.......I get rid of any details like Muhammeds signature on the guitar and make it look my own custom guitar.
The intro song is called the murder, and the outro song is called echos. The band is The Absence, They have two albums and are recording a third currently. Both those songs were from their second album called Riders of the Plague.
I love the mat finish. Doesn't reflect and never gets dirty.
Also, the only ones "available" today with orignal edge is the reissue 550(which are not any good), and the 770dx (which is good, I have one). Else you have to buy used. But new guitars, 1570 is the best. BUT there is a new series coming out now, it is called RGD. Gooogle it.

The Xiphos looks awesome, especially the cameleont-finishes. Seems from the review like a good guitar to play as well! :)
@thesouthafricanguy There not around anymore right? I love there stuff, its great, I have all 3 of there albums.
the band is called The Absence, the CD is "Riders of the Plague" it's an awesome effin CD. I recommend
The Absence - one of the best American metal bands around, period!
ah you're my hero, I've literally gone through all their songs and couldn't find that awesome solo melody from Victorious Dead.
Hey, I know that dude.
@GutWrench95 you´ve got to have the right string gauge. I use 13 when I play in B and 11 when playing in D. Think 10 should do fine with D as well. and 11 or 12 for C tunings.
@1985guy1985 the last one is "echoes" by his band the absense wich is great
Bet you can get some awesome high-note bends on that high E string!
Song is The Murder by The Absence
can someone PLEASE tell me what song is being play at 3:03
that phrase is awesome, i bought their cd and i still cant find it
@Deadlezz he meant at all... its a floyd rose with a locking nut so your not really going to tune up too often
will there be a 7 string version of the new xiphos?
i was looking for a new guitar and have checked this out and im almost positive i saw a lefty version of the Xiphos somewhere so dont stop lookin
yeah, i will definitely let you know. I will have it in probably 3 weeks or so. I haven't had a chance to play a Xiphos yet, but if it is crappy i can just sell it at work haha. I hope it is amazing
im getting a new guitar i wanna get a xiphos or zakk wylde bulls eye epiphone wich one plays better ?
this guitar looks awesome....
someone know if the single norton is strong enough for death metal solos like the h.norton?
The easy way to adjust a floyd for Dropped tunings:
1. Loose locking nuts
2. reduce springs tension slightly and check where the tuning is, till it gets closest to Drop B etc.

Help me out Ibanez!!! I can't find this guitar in the green shadow flat color anymore :(
@Toadoe7 i think muhammed from necropaghist is working with ibanez to make a 7 string 27 fret xiphos, but i could be wrong, but i hope not!
@christiancoker1 what do you mean setup ? because i have a rg370dx with an edge 3 trem, and i dont see anything wrong with it but i read what some people say about it, and they say what you say " if there set up right "
@futurerocker77 Yeah man my OFR stays in tune forever in my room, always needs tweaking a little on stage though, hot lights and fans ect.
i agree, in a video a guy said that they felt like actives but id rather have emgs cause the notes are more clear
do any of you think a Seymour Duncan Full Shred TB-10 pickup would be better than the DiMarzio D activator pickup on the bridge for this guitar? also the Seymour Duncan Hot Stack STK-S2 for strat on the neck position instead of the DiMarzio Air Norton S? its because im a seymour duncans person
I would appreciate any comment towards this and if you have a better pickup suggestion for this please let me know
what's first the song at the beginning???
1:23 epic head banging going on all the way to the right.
?? I'm happy with 22.
Who (other than this dude) puts them to good use?
@cjalmighty show me a link to this mab 29 fret guitar
with a floyd rose or edge or zr2 or whatever locking trem it is, you need to loosen nuts on the bridge and pull the stoppers back. then you feed in the string to the bottom of the cavity, and tighten the block against it to keep it in place. you use allen keys for this and dont over tighten or you can split the stopper. its quite simple. hope this helps. check out an s or rg prestige or even a j custom if you want a long lasting beautifully playing set up guitar.
is that guitar available on other colors? please reply

The absence is awesome live. I saw them open for Amon Amarth in NYC. They do a killer cover of Testament's "Into the pit" too.
I think the song is by the band that guy is in , i can't make out the font, sick guitar
whats the music at the start?
wtas the name of the intro song ???
whats the song at the begining
@ohyeahtotally08 Pretty sure he meant he never had to tune up during shows, not though the WHOLE tour
How did you get your guitar to that tuning with the locking tremolo system? I've been struggling with that for a while now...
whats the song at the start?
does anyone know that song at about 3:05?
where can i get one of these??
I've got an Ibanez rg4exfm1, haven't tuned it in a month. perfect...but then again, the temperature in my basement never changes.
@WoWintosh Yeah sorry, I know its HUMBUCKER, i just got used to typing hambaker < which is as we say it in our language. Tnx for letting me know i mistyped it :D
I believe that's from Riders of the Plague (the song)
what song is this??
Is this guitar neck heavy? I used to have a Xiphos but got rid of it for that reason. Any feedback is appreciated.
Even the best trems set up by jesus would drift slightly over a tour! Besides what kinda metal player would use one set of string the entire tour? does he buy the new strings already in tune? haha
What is that song?!?!?! This is the first time ive heard of this band and i dont know the songs lol someone tell me:D!
It's still The Absence. Song is "The Murder".
@Metalmack95 the bad comments on the Edge III are from beginner guitarists who don't know how to set up tremolos correctly. it's the fact that the trem is on the cheaper guitars, you get less-experienced players buying the guitars with the Edge III. the trem works fine, but only if you know how to deal with them.

how long is the neck on that guitar?

i have to struggle playing on my electrical outlet to get passed fret 24... i could really use one of those.
wat song is playing
which band is peter from again?
@cjalmighty I've seen an ESP custom with 36 frets
yeah that would be awesome an rg series with 27 frets.
This guy knows what he is talking about!
What band is he in?
wat band is he from?
i want th enew model so bad, i want the new strap placement as well, My xiphos puts all the weight on 1 shoulder
Is the song playing "shred to the summit" or is that just an ad campaign or something?
Just my 2 cents, but I think it'd be better if it was a 7 string with 27 frets. Also, I do play music that uses 27: Angra and Galneryus both have songs that use the 27th. what song is he playing at 3:03 ?
Very cool man!
Whats the song at 3:04 ?
@Trondset Yea I also like to have everything like more bacon, more beef, more cheese on my burgers as well.
@GutWrench95 It's simple! 1.unlock the locking tuners. 2 go back where the springs are. 3 reduce their tension slightly and try constantly to see where is it tuned now. if it needs more spring tension reducing, go back and reduce it till it gets pretty close to drop B. i bought this guitar and im loving the SHIT out of it!
@skillet000red It tells you at 0:48. "Peter Joseph of The Absence"
@cjalmighty i think you mean rusty cooley
yes i already knew this guitar i was just wondering about the 27 fret version
same! i have no idea why everyone complains about it cos for me its just great
@OfficialTorn no there is not unless you are endorsed by ibanez and order a custom guitar for you
Ibanez made a killer guitar with the Xiphos, but they killed it too by putting an Edge III in it. The EZ-II would've been a much better choice.
The song at 3:05 is Victorious Dead.
As far as I know this guitar is made in Indonesia , I had a ibanez jem77 even that its very old , the sound and the sustain is killer , I hope this guitar is the same , I dont trust too much when its made in Indonesia or Korea
waooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo la devo comprare!!!!!!!!!
@e1337air I don't really need any of that.....27-frets or 24-frets, only time I can remember the 24-fret being used was on solos for 80's rock and early 90's rock probably until 1992. Other than that I still want this guitar because its in the color: SHIT GREEN, looks better in person.
27 frets...
reminds me of Spinal Tap
"..and these ones goes up to 11.."
No replies yet after 3 years. PETER? What are you playing now? Seems like a novelty to you. I have one still and
Was wondering what you think is faster?
god damn it i'm so gonna get that guitar, in a few months indeed
@ihatenatwolf Seriously? Last I read , like in the summer actually, they had disbanded like after the 3rd album or so.
...Where do you live buddy? >:)
But can it be used to play proper Death Metal?
Please bring this guitar back. -Tucker
Who is this guy? what's he doing here?
you can i have an ofr on mine, just takes some modification theres a vid on here somewhat explaining it.
@qwertyamman naah they already made it but pics havent been put up because its so metal he hasnt used it yet cuz it might kill his fans.
Want one.
yeah i thought they were made in japan, but im just going off of waht that guy said, i havent actually been to guitar center and looked at where it was made.
