Thank you. I built computers 25 years ago and run a tech business but in the last decade or so we don't do much PC repair work. I didn't even consider the power BUTTON could be the problem. Found an old jumper to short the pins on the board I have (which isn't this one but it doesn't matter) - and WALA it booted up. Now to decide if it's even worth buying a replacement power button for this silly XPS that's 6 years old......oh, and all you people putting the guy down for a 4-minute video, get bent. He's helping people out, why hate?

Thank you for making this! And thank you for making it nice and short, right to the point. Super helpful and easy fix for a situation I had no idea how to deal with.

      My problem is that the
      power button doesn't have that
      LED light and that's all
is running but how come you know that is ON is the blue
      LED light doent light up,
it could be the cables that goes
      to the mother board?
      Thank you!!

My case has been through a couple of moves, UPS put a dent in it on a trip from IL to AZ and my power switch has been the first thing to go on it. I hate having to get in there just to do this, hoping everything will fit into a Dell i got from my sister in law. It took over 5 years, but mashing the button like a caveman isn't working anymore lol
Edit: gave her one last shot after pulling her out from underneath my desk, guess she decided to stop being stubborn. First button push xD

This is good to know but unfortunately mine still cuts right back off.
All the PS voltages check out except -12 is like -14.5. I doubt that's causing the issue though.
Mine won't stay on long enough to even get in the bios.

Yeah, some computers need a constant source for a little. For example, optiplexes like to do that, for some reason.

How hard is it to replace those wires in an Azza Genesis 2000 gaming case? Getting tired of opening my case to turn the computer on if it gets shut off. Wanting to replace it, if possible.

Brand new build 3060 i710700 has the same issue as my old build 660 i74770 no parts shared both do not boot half the time although my fans spin and my keyboard gets lit up but does not boot, I run a designated 20amp power outlet directly connected to my pc and have had an electrician test and show my outlet puts out enough watts

Thank you, I have been looking for a video like this for a while, searching for "on off switch" did not work...
I have an 2003 Power Mac G4 MDD, for a long time I was sure it's problem is the Power Supply.
Now I have an idea on how to test it, I did see a video where they had to remove/replace a circuit board so maybe this won't work. Maybe there is a fuse on the board...thinking out loud.
