The truth is the real American Bully is bred with a very low prey drive. The natural features of "aggression" is linked to a high prey drive. So as long as the tenant is a responsible and caring dog owner you have nothing to fear.
Btw I feel these Bullies in the UK were not properly socialized during the lock downs during covid. Which would naturally make the fearful of people. On top of some them not even being real American Bullies to begin with but a pitbull/staffy mix. Which have a higher prey drive than the actual Bully. I think that could be causing confusion on to the actual problem with the dogs in the UK. I think there needs to be more investigations on the source of the problems aside from ripping these loving dogs from loving owners.
I seen with the Pitbull banned in the UK they tore Pitbulls from their homes for months to even over a year while waiting for the owners to get the right paperwork to own these dogs. That can traumatize a dog and cause future aggression. The UK doesn't have a clue on what they are doing and I'm glad I don't live there.

American Bullly's ARE Pit Bulls. Ok maybe not on paper, but they ARE a Giant cross example of the breed.
Pitt Bulls are the only breed of dog known to have schizophrenic tendencies. They can be everyone's baby for years and then turn on a dime to be killers.
Don't get me wrong, I am completely a dog person. And I agree with the general principle that dog owners need to train/control their dogs, but a Pitty or anything bred from it is the exception to the rule.

They're dangerous dogs, two elderly ladies were taken down at the start of march while chatting when a staffordshire mix decided to attack my dog. Has far as I am aware the police haven't done anything and I'm still having treatment for my left arm. They haven't even interviewed the other lady for her witness statement. The breed is a problem due to the sheer size of them and the capabilities they possess. I much rather fancy my chances of surviving an attack from a Labrador than one of these. When it is a hopeless situation for who or whatever they are attacking, then it is clearly too dangerous to be out in public - and that goes for any breed that cannot be controlled or stopped by a grown man.
On top of the 11 deaths mentioned on the segment there have been many horrific attacks on other dogs. There have been cases where owners have been helpless to save their dogs from these vicious attacks and it has taken the efforts of many people to attempt to save the victims - often unsuccessfully. Why risk more injuries or lives? Are our children's lives and the lives of our pets not more important than owning this newly introduced breed!?
I’m not saying they should all be destroyed but they should be a banned breed - and those who are already in the country should be leashed and muzzled in public as well as their owners being vetted and monitored to ensure they are being responsible.

That tells me there’s so incredibly irresponsible parents and even worse dog owners.

Legislation must recognise these "pets" are potentially dangerously uncontrollable, their owners brandishing them like weapons, or teaching them to be protective is a huge problem. Ban the "XL"s dogs, they are a hazard. I know. For any guard dog or large dog uncontrolled attack, mandatory prison time, like a premeditated knife or gun attack. One Canadian experienced opinion. Our province has a ban already though wiggle room allows "Old English Bulldogs". Slippery slope people... There was a pair of Rotties that attacked a small child. Owner, trying to stop the attack was killed by her own dogs. I had a 100 lb monster as a rescue that i was forced to euthanize in the interest of, my call, public safety. I now have a 50 lb Bull Terrier who does show the predatory instinct but it is for rodents. I still keep him under control, attended, and well trained. It's a matter of dog owners need to keep their dog at home. Public places in my area have cracked down huge. Anywhere dogs are you'll find awful stink, feces all over and dog fights, disease, attacks, the list goes on. Not worth it. I prefer to live without them. IMO All dog owners should need to pass a dog test licence test before ownership to prevent all kinds of unintentional cruelty (free test for people receiving benefits). Any dog (or part bred dog) on a watch list* with a bite force of >150psi and >30kg (breed standard healthy adulthood weight) should require an owner to have a higher level licence and injury insurance and only people with that level of licence should be allowed to walk those dogs. Wearing a muzzle outside the home should be compulsory for dogs with the ability to kill a person.
*Labrador Retrievers and Newfoundlands(rescue swimmers), like most Canadians, may be large and powerful but are unlikely to be on a watch list.

It could also be how each dog is raised and treated rather than it just being the breed. Not all owners treat their dogs like they should, you get owners treating a dog as though they are human, calling them their babies, that will also play a part too, then when owners have a human babies, their dogs can get jealous of losing attention they once had just as humans do when an older child has to share attention with a younger sibling that is also a factor. Just using its breed as the only reason is not only stupid, but irresponsible aswell, also to kill an animal just cause of a perception of its bread, that is also cruel.

@@everyman1All dogs can attack or bite, it's the damage they inflict that's the problem. It's breeders, especially in the southern states in the US, or dog owners that just let their dogs breed non stop, no matter the dogs temperament. Shelters are overflowing with pitbulls, and no, it's not criminals or want to be thugs adopting them either, it's middle-class folks, just look at the dodo canal to see all the pitbulls and their adopted families. I have an unspayed bitch, she has a shitty temperament, she's nasty, hates other dogs etc, I'd never breed her, ever. She is a small dog, I can manage her and she's not capable of killing someone. If I bred her, her pups would be worth a pretty penny considering she's a popular breed, but it's just not something I'd do given her mental personality. However, you have breeders out there, knowing the dogs they are going to breed have rotten temperaments, and breed them anyway and that's a disaster waiting to happen with a pitbull breed.
