Ordered mine last week .. I can't wait. The looks and just the looks of the ergonomic grips sold me. The fact that the rest of the wheel is awesome is just a bonus!
You must be excited! Did they say how long it will take to get the wheel from the day you order it? Which version did you get? Did you consider the GSI GXL V2?
@@wangoh-uo1gn I went with the advanced version like the extra top paddles. Not sure on timing, I watched someone talk to the BST guy at Adac this year and he said they are about 2-4 weeks out from date of order which they are working on getting that down. I did for sure consider the GSI GXL Pro v2. I had the original GXL as well as the X29 and Hyper SL. This BST Alpha just jumped out at me and looks 👀 a bit unique compared to all the other wheels we have out there. So many great options! I also have the GSI GT 32 Max which is an Awesome wheel! I actually like the 320mm with thicker grips better, you feel more in control when racing GT3 and GT4 in my opinion. BST also have a V2 of the Omega Pro coming that they showed at Adac which has the beam tech technology but that thing is going to be $2100 I think I heard him say.
I own the omega one pro and after seeing the reveal of the Alpha, I had to order it. So I ordered the advanced version with the DDU5 and beacon lights so I got me a nice package. I should be getting all that by the end of the month but we’ll see. I still use my omega pro like if I got it yesterday. It’s a very addictive wheel. Bavariansimtec know sim wheels and they don’t disappoint. They are also very elegant and feel and look as if they are 50k$ steering wheels. I’m looking forward to your review of the omega pro V2 and I’ll be buying one myself.
There wheels are so so good. Like legit god tier with ergonomics and feel in the hand. The handles/grips are perfection. The thickness of them omg just perfection and the other wheels even are just insane. Some brands don't get it you need some thickness even with smaller hands. You need that control and feeling. Grips that aren't designed correctly and or are smaller will always end up causing pain and or cramps overtime for sure. Like the gt neo it's ok but the grips are to hard and the ergonomics are good but the width from the front isn't enough and I get cramps or pains in my hand with long stints. I truely truely believe these are the best wheels on the market now. I do think wheels are getting a bit to light and I feel tbe whole more details thing is over played now. I've found i can get just as much detail with a 1700g wheel with the wr as a 1250g wheel. Its all about design not actual weight imo. Just like grips can subdue details, it just depends. My favorite weight is 1300 to 1700g I don't enjoy much less. Also this wheke may be 1250g but it doesn't feel like it with the qr it feels more like 1500g. Which is fine to me.
I've had the wheel about a month now and I love it, if there's one thing I wish was available is different stickers for the center area, or even better some metal plate or thin acrylic that lets the light through, I would gladly pay extra for after market upgrades.
Great point-I completely agree! I forgot to mention it, but having the option to change labels, especially for the multi-selector, would be a fantastic addition.
@simracingden they have said they might look into upgradable parts, so I can but hope they release some. I just finished watching your video, I hadn't realised until you mentioned it, that this is the only wheel I've used where my hands don't ache after a few hours.
As a fellow Canadian, keep up the great work. Great review I hope you can review the Solpec wheel with the screen before the end of the year. It looked like it might be the wheel of the year.
Thank you! 🙌🏻 🇨🇦 .Me too that is one that I had really good first impressions with trying at the Sim Expo, hopeful for an opportunity to do a proper review one day.
Super review, thank you very much I will watch it again in a while. I need to somehow occupy my time until I get my own version. What puzzles me, however, is the volume of the gear shift handles. Do you think it is still possible to somehow dampen them and get them to be quiet?
I honestly don’t find them too loud personally and I think the recording makes them sound a bit louder than they are. But they are certainly not designed to be quiet shifters either.
i‘m coming from the ascher mclaren, which i sold because of the bad grips for guys with bigger hands. the alpha is the best wheel that i ever had. not just because of the top grips, all the function that it has, it is just glorious and it looks so nice 😍 this wheel is gonna stay forever 😎
Just ordered one due to your review. Forgot to use the code though. Looking forward to it. I am in search of a formula wheel that has grips as comfortable as my momo team round wheel. Maybe this is it. Did not order mclaren because you told me it wasn’t worth it over my mpx :)
This wheel looks amazing. Can you please tell me how it compares to MPX? I have a v1 and wonder if I should upgrade to Alpha. Will you be selling your MPX?
The MPX remains one of my top wheels, and it’s definitely not going anywhere. Both it and the Alpha are exceptional, but the Alpha just brings that extra edge across multiple areas. It’s the ideal blend of everything I value in a sim racing wheel, as I covered in the review.
@simracingden Very political answer. :p But if we speak specifics? From what I gather, Alpha grips are more comfortable. What about thumb encoders? Do you prefer the feel of big ones on MPX? Do you miss the bottom two on the Alpha? Which buttons are easier to push and reach while driving? Which shifters are quieter? Which are easier to use? For me, the MPX clutches are a bit too far even in the closest position, since I have short fingers. Are they closer on Alpha? I am not asking which one is "better", because there are too many factors and they are subjective. But what makes this wheel different aside from ABT, MPS, and the looks? For me, the fact that Alpha is actually wireless with an Asetek base is enough to switch. I despise the cable on the MPX.
@@CynicalManInBlack Sorry that wasn't the most helpful answer. The grips are a standout feature for me; I’ve never felt anything as comfortable as these. I definitely prefer the larger thumb encoders-they’re easier to use and feel more intuitive. I honestly never missed the bottom two encoders from the MPX since I rarely used them. The GRID shifters are quieter, which I appreciate, but I prefer the positioning of the Alpha shifters overall. The real difference is in how it feels while driving; the layout and grip positions just make everything feel more comfortable and natural. The Asetek integration is also a huge plus-I should have highlighted that in my review but forgot. I’m still waiting for my Asetek hub to test it fully with the Invicta wheelbase.
@@simracingden glad to hear this. Sounds like I have made the right decision to switch. I have been following BST for over a year now but I was never a fan of wheels with screens. With Alpha they left me no choice.
Thank you, but do you know if we would need to run simHUB in conjunction with this app when playing, or you would run the app with simHUB turned off? My assumption is that you either run simHUB or the other. But if both happened to be running, simHUB will override the app.
The shifters sound quite loud in the section you are saying they were quiet. Had you increased the volume during this part or is that actually the sound of them?
I don't know why everyone is so obsessed with DNR profiles. They are nothing special. Anyone can make the exact same colorways if they take a few minutes to learn how to use Simhub. All DNR profiles do is make EVERY wheel in the industry look the same. Kinda defeats the whole purpose of Simhub and being creative. But, I guess we live in a world of Apple people and Android people.

Since I have the alpha, I never used my Simagic Fx Pro. This one is perfect.
Superb video as always Mike! this one is going to be hard to pass up!
Thanks man!
Thanks for this great in-depth review! I tested this wheel recently on the ADAC Simracing Expo and I was really impressed!
Thank you! Its definently one of those wheels once you get your own hands on it really makes sense.

I deff end up with hand cramps on my Hyper P1. Been on the fence but think this just put me over that fence lol great review
Yes I agree the Hyper P1 grips are too big for me too. Glad the video was helpful and sorry if I cost you more money lol. Thanks for watching.
I have the hyper SL but noticed the cramps as well

Nice! Send your order number to BST see if they can still apply the discount.
I wondered. Have you experienced any problems with the thumb encoders? Aren't these too close so that you unintentionally touch them with your thumbs?
I had no issues with this.

Thank you! Not yet, but I'm told it will be released publicly before Christmas.

I think there is a bit of an echo in my room which makes them sound louder than they are. its not always accurate coming from the camera mic.

Any possible comparison for this versus the GSI FPE v2?
I haven’t reviewed the GSI FPE V2 yet.
Can you control
Buttons brightness? Saw Suzuki review yes you can 😂
Yes you can
Does anyone know how much it is with tax, shipping to U.S. (Los Angeles) and is Bavarian website the only place to purchase
Any UK stockists of this or do I have to order from Bavarian direct?
Can only be ordered direct from Bavarian.
The wheels look great and I would own both that they have to offer. But with basically no US distributors they are not even a consideration.
I get it. It would be great to see this sold by a North American distributor eventually.
Those paddles noise....ahhhh
Not as loud as it sounds in the video.
The use of an ampersand on the bottom of the wheel is grammatically incorrect. 😩 It should be "DESIGNED AND MANUFACTURED IN BAVARIA".
🤨
Been torn between this or ascher
Tough choice
