That year, my high school students used to practice dance on "Konta bangaru lokam"(Telugu version of Putham Pudhu Bhoomi) for our school's annual day.. I used to go to their rehearsals not to watch them practice dance but just to listen to that song.. After 30 years, I still listen to that movie songs and that how I landed in this video after TH-cam recommended me this.. Same impact was also created by Thalapathi album by Ilayaraja.
Kamal hassan instead of rajinikanth.. Ilayaraja ARR have produced quality music won then 11 national awards in total.. Rajinikant didn't have quality with his acting to go with iR and ARR but kamal hassan with 3 national awards
Koncham Nilavu (Chandralekha) still mesmerizes me with its deep sounds.. The singing is amazing too (guess originally sung by Anupama). I remember listening to this track with an assembled audio-deck system and the cassette that I had in those days... and the beats used to literally penetrate my body. Can't imagine how such a beautiful arrangement and orchestration was done. The theme music had the same effect. I can feel those beats even now!
