RIMAC ON NURBURGRINGGGGGG
Still 23 seconds slower than porsche gt 2 rs lol
@@dgo5929 and sounds like a milk float
Nice, but I really thought it would at last be equal to a 911 gt3..
Do you think 15 seconds could be possible in optimal condition?
@@timvonr2802 More like 7 seconds.
Incredible Rimac and Miasha, cheers from Croatia, by the way 18.08. is my brithday.
Only thing that would be better is the record with Misha at the wheel.
for a second I thought it was Misha. That would have been epic
Visual of Misha tapping his fingers together like a classic Bond villain: “We shall see, carmarades, we shall see. The future is not known! Mwahahahaha!” 😏🤞😉😁
Cheers & Congrats RIMAC!
🖖😎👍
Not necessarily
Heeellllz yaaa!!!😊
Misha still holds the record for the fastest Daihatsu Cuore around the ring.
Now we just hope somebody let Misha borrow his Rimac Nevera and we could have Mishas lap!🥰
If i were Misha i wouldnt do it. Way too expensive and fast :D
@@zerooneonetwothree1872 If you search for Rimac in the videos here at Misha's channel you will see proof that he has some hands-on experience with an early version of this car model.

Who is Misha? You mean Nico Rosberg?
Exterior footage coming tomorrow :)
Looking forward to it.
thanks man i love your videos
I’ll look out for that 👍
I swear I would love to see Misha behind the wheel to break a record
He’s a good driver compared to regulars…but compared to race drivers he is not THAT guy, respectfully he isn’t coming close to a 10s lap time minimum difference
Don't swear!
@user-yi4ev5lz7t not saying you're wrong, but I do wonder where's the comparison is coming from? I don't remember being this much slower in my races if at all.

Rimac staff members are chill.
they are croats. we are like that. 😎
Check their onboard here: th-cam.com/video/6Y2zZlXmcU8/w-d-xo.html
it is doing a burnout basically the whole ring. bonkers
@@breakupgoogle the torque vectoring makes those tires work at 100% of their capacity at all times. No wonder they were melting after a few minutes.
I don’t understand how people are surprised it didn’t do below 7 min. You can clearly see in the onboard video that the car struggled extremely in the corners, due to the overheated tyres. The driver wasn’t even on full throttle most of the lap. There’s a lot of potential in the car left
I mean expecting the Nevera to be anywhere near even a Cayman GT4 RS, 488 Pista, or the Gen 5 Viper ACR in terms of lap time is like putting Steven Seagal against some random japanese seiyuu in a sprinting race
The NIO was able to do it sub 7. 20 seconds faster 6 yrs ago
You really put together an all star team of local media guys 👏👏
Haters are always going to hate. When I heard the ambient and track temps compared to those when GT3RS and Project One amongst others set their times, the Nevera is around where I thought it would be. And to put it into perspective, this from a relative start up with a car that is near capable as those from manufacturers with decades of car and motorsport pedigree, congratulations to all involved with Rimac. Looking forward to the next attempt in similar conditions to those that benefited the ICE's so many on here use to try and crucify the Nevera
This gentleman gets it.. Congrats to mate & team. I'm sure they will be back even stronger.. Big effort out of the gate.
Track conditions cannot account for the type of discrepancy in lap times that your referring too. There was alot of hype about this cars torque vectoring and power splitting to each wheel when it came to the handling capabilities and such. For reference the 500hp gt3 lapped the ring in 6:55. For a car that has 1814hp its just very surprising that it isnt faster. Perhaps the battery cannot withstand full power over an entire lap, if thats the case it’s disappointing considering that this is a hypercar.
They are not a small company anymore they supply alot of battery tech to other companies and i believe they own bugatti now.
The barrier of entry for performance is easy for BEVs. Any manufacturer can order or build HP motors like the Rimac.
Haters? I don't think so. Most of the people's are wondering how it could be that slow on nurburgring for the quickest acceleration production car. What do you pay 2mil for? Have a look at the Mercedes AMG ONE That car give you speed and track performance for 2mil euro and plus you don't have to spend 50min in the charging station to charge your horses.
I get it Rimac is new to this game and we should never ever compare it to all this other brands ever again. Same thing for the tesla. Putting 1000+ hp into a family car and braking system fails after two heavy brakes makes me think this thing will give you the same experience 🤷♂️
It's a big archivement for the Rimac but not for other brands. 550hp M4csl is 10s behind Rimac at the finish line and it doesn't accelerate 100 - 200 in 2.5s just saying 🤷♂️
@@grg88888 you as many others forget that you compare a GT EV vs. dedicated track machines fine tuned for tracking courses which is very drastic difference when you think about it in details
GT3 or as people love to remind viper ACR came with much lighter weight, much more downforce and far less torque than nevera comes with which does wonders on tyres and you also forget batteries lose power with time vs. ICE which will run as fast as it can till it blows up
the fact that it rivals them while having all these disadvantages should make you ashamed of said cars because they don't have to deal with a ton of torque, lack of downforce and tires literally melting as seen on video
you can't defeat physics in its game but you can obey the rules and play to your best capabilities
Misha, what is your personal record on the nurburgring?
This needs to become your next thing besides driving the track @Misha: filming BTS of manufacturers doing record/prototype laps. Great video!
Watched this earlier on Nurburgrings channel and holyyyyyy that was a great lap
I love all the behind the scenes stuff with the videographer(s). Showing just how much work and planning goes into making a video such as this one.
Great one Misha 🙏🏼👊🏻
Seeing a 2 mil. € 2000hp machine struggle makes you appreciate the Porsche even more :D
The fact that Manthey Cayman rs can be just as fast or even smoke it is insane.
And makimg me wonder why Rimac is proud of this...
@@maerklin29800 I was thinking exactly the same.... Rimac has 1,900hp and does the same laptop as a 500hp little Porsche? Weird...
@@Dauerurlauberi wonder what the weight difference is. And rimac is also like 100 years old with plenty of experience
@@DelitorNot saying they are not experienced but they were founded 14 years ago in 2009. Not 100 years ago ;)
@@Delitor Let me put it this way:
Cayman has: 25,7% the power of Nevera, 19% the torque, its 3,12X slower in 100-200, uses 245 front tyre and 295 rear, Nevera uses 275-315, its also rear wheel drive and you tell me its all because of the weight? Sure, difference is significant, 34,8% lighter, but it accelerates 312% slower when it matters the most (100-200), so its either a really poor performing driver or a car. Maybe both, i dont know.
After all those times you've stood stopwatching in T13, you finally get into the paddock to cover your favorite electric project... that smile m8, blitzing! Thank you for sharing such a really awsome, epic succes!
Best present i got for my birthday, thanks Rimac!
Thank you Misha for this in-depth behind the scenes video. The preparation and comradery was very special to see.
Well done Martin, I bet it wasn't piece of cake to drive such a heavy car.
I literally revisited the test drive and factory video in the morning,
Then Rimac nordschlife lap video appears!!!! Bravo Misha, Adrian, Rimac and everyone else who were involved in this special event :)
Absolutely glorious! Thanks for sharing these scenes! 😎
Yes yes yes yes YES LAP RECORD ALL THE CARS!!! So glad you finally got to see this one. Very cool to see into the scrutineering process, too. Love everything about this. Congratulations, Rimac!
That was unexpected. Well 2.3+ tonns is just too heavy for 50C asphalt I guess.
What a car, what a team, what a BTS video! Thank you Misha, thank you RIMAC for this close view into everything! And hopefully there will be a sub 7 coming at some point. The car definitely can do that! 💪🔥
Great backstory! So interesting to see how much work is needed to go that far. Congrats to Rimac for the lap record.
I'm shocked it wasn't sub 7 given how insane this car is. The Viper ACR was faster and it's a manual
1500kg vs 2300kg 😅
@@rkan2654 hp vs 1900 hp
@@maerklin29800And a lot cheaper...
@@maerklin29800Gobs of power doesn't mean much if you've got no opportunity to put it all down.
@@flurpoidyou do have opportunity to put it down. There many place you need to be fast at 100-200 and 100-300 in the track.
Just saw the lap. On hard accelerations on the straights at around 200 km/h, the car was wobbling left to right quite a bit before leveling out. Similar to what you described in the non-Track Pack Plaid. Proper Code Brown moments. So, props to the driver for the massive display of balls. And also, despite what I said, props to Rimac for not hiding (shoutout to Bugatti 😎) and showing the world what a car that was NOT made for the track can do on track.
lol, car. More like a vibrator
Wait.. So a $3,000,000 supercar, that has 2,000hp, is as wide as a school bus, has a carbon fiber monocoque, runs on Cup 2Rs, has the computing power of multiple gaming rigs, actual independent torque vectoring (per wheel), etc etc etc... Isn't made to be good on track? What was it made for then? Getting the groceries? 🤔😜
.
Now if I wasn't being a cynical nub I'd assume that you meant that it wasn't SPECIFICALLY made to be a track car lol. So yeah it isn't a Radical, or have an RS, ACR, Manthey Racing or Black Series spec (IE it doesn't have a massive aerodynamic package for the track). But because this thing is mostly just one large line of code, it could easily get an OTA and all that simple binary could be changed 😉
@@obsidian.... all other thoughts aside, Rimac specicifally says something to that effect in the video description of the lap; I cite:
"the Nevera is primarily developed as a hyper GT, rather than a car built to devour racetracks. "
@@obsidian.... You have no idea what track vs track is.
@@versediWhy don't you explain it to him then instead of trying to sound superior.
Awesome work, congrats! Thanks for the bts.
This was pure gold! Congratulations, Misha, and all around!
2.2 million and they're still 15+ seconds slower than a 500hp porsche less than a 10th of the price LMAO
Congrats to everyone involved! What an accomplishment! Being the fastest in any category is fun bragging rights while you're at the top.
In the monotonous life that is driving the same course over and over and over and over and over and OVER AND OVER AND OVER again and again... This video right here is some real insight into what it means for a human to accomplish a goal which took years of work and maybe a little of some back-door finagling to come into fruition! It's truly why lots of people come to this channel. The raw emotion we can vicarious get through either the passenger's vehicle being taken and used to the extreme on the Nürburgring or the moment's of shared relief that you did it ONE MORE TIME(of course with some class, extreme skills and the collective ease any one thing becomes with enough practice!)
Happy to see you happy Misha.
Congrats! Great video Misha!
Love to see it, Misha. Been waiting for this.
Now I have even more respect for the Viper ACR and that driver.
That was a beast, would die to try it out on the ring......also on the subject , a 500 HP Porsche is way way faster
why?? bc its american car and you are american ,,but truth is ,,that is not road legal car ,,and they wanted to cheat ,,so the time they got was not oficial ,,what kind of respect you have for it ??? its a race care made for race ,,this is a road car road legal production car
yeah the ACR was impressive, wasn't much slower, very close time to the Rimac (7.00.928 vs 7.01.3 on the 20,600m lap)
I saw the Rimac video on their channel and immediately thought of you. Shortly after that I got my notification that you had a new video up. Let's go!
Congratulations to Rimac and their driver on an impressive achievement. The Nevera is obviously an incredibly well-designed, engineered, and built machine, and I have no doubt that given better conditions, might well have gone even faster. That being said, the truth is, driving a Nevera on the 'Ring wouldn't even make my top 20 (or 50, or 100) list of cars. For all its technological wizardry, I'd much rather be behind the wheel of any number of 12, 10, 8, 6, 4 cylinder - hell, even a couple of Rotary engine - cars than set records in a silent and utterly emotionless EV like the Nevera. The future may well be electric, but I fear it means the end of passion and emotion for the automotive world. Here's hoping that someone will develop a truly viable synthetic fuel... I'd hate to lose the chance to hear the sound of a Ferrari V12, Lambo V10, Ford V8, or Porsche 6 hitting the redline. That will be a sad, sad day indeed.
I bet a toonie that you've never driven a performance EV before.
@@beanapprentice1687 lmao , he is spot on , keep your boring battery
Give us the V8 twin turbo
@@beanapprentice1687 And you'd be right... but given my original post, what does that matter? Regardless of the opportunity, I'd much prefer the chance to drive a 458, or a GT3RS, or a GT500 or a S2000 than ANY soulless, silent EV, no matter its speed, power or performance. Am I not entitled to choose? Am I somehow not entitled to prefer the sound of a screaming v12 or V10? I suspect the choice remains mine... now and always.
@@beanapprentice1687 driven a plaid and he's 100% correct. Also EVs can't do multiple full power laps, or long laps like this. NA all day it's still king, power density and physics say EV needs much better battery tech.
@@jeffkovacs6521 the choice is always yours. However, the phenomenon of die-hard petrol heads getting behind the wheel of a performance EV and falling in love with it is very well documented.
Truly amazing! Looking forward to an in-car video, that will be bloody awesome!
In-car lap was posted on the RimacAutomobili channel 6 hours ago.
@@ScottVanHorne thank you!
7:05, some 30 seconds slower than the AMG One, 15s slower than that 992 GT3RS. I've never watched a hot lap with so little full throttle. Sections where supercars normally go flat out for 15s straight up sweeping corners, the Rimac was braking and slowing down all the time. I always thought that electric cars like the Taycan/Tesla were built to be big family car in the first place, and that the Rimac being a carbon tubbed hypercar from the start would make it truly capable of competing with other supercars on track. Too bad, weight is still an issue. Even a base 992 GT3 with 1/4 of the power is faster, and they both use cup 2R tires, but when you have to deal with that much speed and weight, the tires will overheat.
Rimac..more a toy for rich people
I was checkimg for this video and here it is ..
Well done !
I love the comradeship within this team, they all were on high alert but still had time to joke and have a great time together!

Surely you know a lot more about this than me, but the time for the NIO EP9 is 6:45 with slick and 7:05 using "normal" tires with a peak power of ”only” 1000 kW. So this car is definitely sub 7.
Just BRILLIANT!

Now we know what track weapon is Porsche Gt2.
Your signature at the was so coolest part for me
The Rimac is the largest carbon fibre piece in auto. The Boeing 787 has the record for largest carbon fibre structure.
Keep in mind that the Nivera is not “track focused” like the GT3 RS. It is more focused on general performance and road conditions.
No need for a gt3 rs. Even the Gt4 Rs is faster 😂
I love his Zagorje accent at the end.
When I watched the record lap yesterday before you posted this I had the feeling that you, Misha, had something to do with it... 😂 Congratulations to this epic record!!! What will be the limit in the future?
i love this company. reminds me of koenigsegg vibes. like a big family. my two dreamcar brands

Really thought it would have been much faster considering how much power it has.
Alot of cars like gt3, gt3rs, 918, huracan performante and svj all significantly faster around the ring, im surprised
because EV batteries get hot, just like most boosted sportscars which start pulling power after a few laps on most tracks. Energy density and power stability of NA ALL DAY.
I thought the same, I am really dissapointed...
@@N4CR5where did you see that the Rimac actually cut the power?
Still going with petrol.
Nearly 4 times the horsepower of a 992 GT3 RS, coasts more than 6 times of the Porsche and is still 15 seconds slower.
From the Power Data alone it should be way faster, but obviously you can't hide the weight and probably the aerodynamics are also not as advanced.
Thanks for sharing this - great to see progress with electric vehicles and the Rimac journey. Do I remember correctly one of your old videos had them running a simulated lap on a chassis dynamometer?
If you want to see a top EV car run this track in sub 7's over 6yrs ago look for the NIO. Now that's progress.

Are there data what te capacity (%) of the battery was bevor the start and after the finish line? In the video the car needed a juice up, how often did they do it that day?
Super result! How many laps can it do on 'Ring at full pace?
I would guess maximum 2 laps.. Normal performance ev's can hardly do one hard lap around the ring..
This 120kw battery.. At full throttle for 20km's it will use 180kw.. Then next you have the heating issues..
Ev's are one lap wonders.. 🤷♂️
