There is a reason why Maiden has been one of the biggest live bands in the world for 4 plus decades. I first saw them 35 years ago and was blown away, saw them again 2 months ago and was blown away again (with several times in between). They never had radio play (they were not safe enough for radio), but they have filled stadiums for decades. Up the Irons!
Like many older metal bands Iron Maiden is now played on radio, but were not played back when their songs were new. Occasionally Run to the Hills would get on, but even that was rare.

I wish I had seen The Beast tour in Rio. That would have been awesome. I finally got to see Iron Maiden live in Nashville for the Son of the Beast tour. It was the best damn show ever.
I'm sure someone has said it, but Bruce is an enigma. A fencer, a pilot, but known to most as one of the greatest metal singers of all time. I love metal, but I also love Celine Dion, Hank Williams and Usher. I just love a good vocalist. Bruce is truly one of the best live vocalists of modern time. He is up there with Freddie Mercury, Michael Jackson, Maynard and Roy Orbison. He is just operatic and wonderful.
I just saw Iron Maiden this past July 22nd in Charlotte NC. The concert was amazing. Bruce Dickinson is an awesome singer. Thanks for doing this reaction.
Best metal band, if not the best band PERIOD in the world. Their concerts are really something else; I've been to a lot of metal concerts, but the energy at a Maiden concert is at a whole different level. I've never seen such incredible crowd participation at any other show. If you ever get the chance to see them before they're too old to play, I highly, HIGHLY recommend it. You'd be surprised how friendly and welcoming the metal community is to new members. If you showed up to a metal concert and told people you were new to the scene and it was your first concert, you'd instantly be welcomed into the family. I mentioned this on your Hallowed reaction, but you absolutely need to check out "Rime of the Ancient Mariner" from Maiden's live Flight 666 DVD. It's like a 14 minute song, but it's their masterpiece. Easily their best live performance if you ask me.
I've never been into metal at all. 55 now and was listening to Spotify daily mix while busy in the house. This track came on which was very slow to begin with and I nearly stopped it but let it ride. Since that track I listen to Maiden every day

The thing I love about this live version (filmed in Brazil I think) is that the entire audience is singing along, even to the instrumental parts. I wish the audiences here had that kind of enthusiasm at their shows. And they are phenomenal live. I have seen them multiple times and in addition to being really great musicians they bring so much energy, especially Bruce.

My first Iron Maiden concert story: I was 16. Back in the early 80's, in order to get good seats for concerts, we camped out all night by the record store, in line on the pavement with a lot of other people. Winter in Chicago, so everyone had layers of clothes & coats, sleeping bags, at least one had a boom box, and plenty of weed & alcohol. Anyway, the concert (stadium) sold out super fast, we got tickets, but not the best. They added another show, so we camped out again. Those two nights of Iron Maiden concerts were AMAZING! Totally worth freezing outside the record store twice!
I love your reaction video's, it captures a little bit of myself hearing the songs for the first time myself.... Some of them so long ago. Thank you for giving me a bit of my youth back :)
I believe in an interview, Bruce said Steve Harris, their bassist, is afraid of the dark so he wrote a song about it. Such a silly little concept that this band turned into an EPIC song! The recorded version is great, but thank you so much for reacting to this particular live version. It blows the original recording away.
Lead singer Bruce Dickinson is 61 yrs old and at the time of this concert in January 2001 he was 42 running around like a madman which he still does today one of the best live bands ever
I'm from Brazil and I was in that Rock in Rio. Iron Maiden was the most waited band in that festival. Also shows like Iron Maiden, Metallica, ACDC, David Gilmour and Rush are not just shows. It is a life changing experience.
The best live rock/metal act in history, hands down. Maiden is probably one of the most influential and universally cited and acknowledged bands, (by other bands) in metal history, and they did it with no radio air play, no MTV, hardly any media recognition or any awards. They did it by touring, touring, touring and putting on the best live shows possible, night after night. By doing so, they've built probably one of the biggest fan bases of any act in the world. You can go to any country on planet Earth and find people of all ages, sexes and ethnicity wearing Maiden t-shirts. They are *the* case study in how to build a world recognized brand from the grass roots.
Fear of the Dark is the ninth studio album released by English heavy metal band Iron Maiden. Released on 11 May 1992, it was their third studio release to top the UK albums chart and the last to feature Bruce Dickinson ... Released: 11 May 1992
One of the best live bands you will EVER see. I've had the pleasure of seeing them a half dozen times since 88. They are definitely a band worth seeing if you ever get the chance. There's talk of Iron Maiden touring soon with Judas Priest. God I hope that happens. My favorite Iron Maiden song is "Can I Play With Madness ". This is another band that you can dive down that rabbit hole lol. P.S....Wait till you see Eddie lmao...
Maiden always always brings it to their live shows 1000% they all truly love what they do and it shows. They still write and record new albums that still push the envelope and the best part is they are all just super down to earth cool guys. Not an asshole in the bunch.

Remember also there's close to 200k people in that stadium here, amazing to see this!
Fear of the Dark is the ninth studio album released by English heavy metal band Iron Maiden. Released on 11 May 1992, it was their third studio release to top the UK albums chart and the last to feature Bruce Dickinson ...
Released: 11 May 1992
The fact that Maiden has been around for forty years and can STILL draw crowds like that is a testament to how amazing they are.
Thank you for Iron Maiden, Jamel- Never thought you would go there...excellent!
I like to think I am a Maiden fan, but then watch them live in Brazil and bow down to true fans.
Iron Maiden - Rime of the Ancient Mariner [Flight 666 DVD] HD
One of the best live bands you will EVER see. I've had the pleasure of seeing them a half dozen times since 88. They are definitely a band worth seeing if you ever get the chance. There's talk of Iron Maiden touring soon with Judas Priest. God I hope that happens.
My favorite Iron Maiden song is "Can I Play With Madness ". This is another band that you can dive down that rabbit hole lol.
P.S....Wait till you see Eddie lmao...
Tickets already bought for Maiden next July! UP THE IRONS!
Bro, thanks for reacting to this! I saw them live in 2010 and it was AMAZING. Definitely a must see live kind of band!
I saw them live at Ullevi in 2005...man what an experience!
Maiden always always brings it to their live shows 1000% they all truly love what they do and it shows. They still write and record new albums that still push the envelope and the best part is they are all just super down to earth cool guys. Not an asshole in the bunch.
