    Thank you so much for sharing this info! I'd love to hear more about other photography programmes you considered in Berlin, and how you came to decide on this one.

    • @katjafeldmeier
      @katjafeldmeier  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you for watching ☺️ I didn’t really consider other programs. Anything that is full-time would not have worked for me, since I’m already working alongside my studies. And other private programs just did not have the same reputation as this school. I went to see the schon at an open day and really loved the atmosphere. I can recommend to attend the open days. I also made a video recently “2 years of photo school” where you can see the school and I talk about the degree in more detail.

    Hello, I recently started to thinking about applying photography school. I am more into street photography rather than portrait. Before this, even though I liked taking pictures, since I did not think about doing this professionally or applying a school, I was just doing because I was feeling. I do not have a professional camera and the pictures that I consider that they have a story and a feeling taking by a phone camera. I am sorry if my questions are ignorant but does that matter when you apply for photography school? Or if the pictures has been retouched? I started researching only a few days ago and the videos I have seen about portfolios looks really professional which made me discouraged.

      Photography school not necessary. People look at your photos and decide if they it. Clients also need to like you!!:)

      learning new skills like documentary photography, street photography, product photography etc. Also getting pushed outside my comfort zone and to work on artistic projects rather than commercial projects.

    You mention you created your portfolio digitally on PowerPoint. Can I ask how you formatted your stills in that slide? Did the photo take the entire screen or was it split with information? Thank you!

    • @katjafeldmeier
      @katjafeldmeier  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It was just one photo per slide. The info like my cv was in a separate pdf. But that was for my application, so it was specific to that.

    Hi, I was wondering whether you do any editing to your analog photos? I am currently curating my portfolio and as in my practice I combine film and digital, I always find it hard to decide whether I select an image first according to the narrative or if I should edit all the photos I like first and later do the selection process based on the narrative. I would like to optimise time so I always wonder whether editing photos that I may not use is counterproductive. I hope my question makes sense! Thank you!

    • @katjafeldmeier
      @katjafeldmeier  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I edit all the photos I like first and then make a narrative selection. Hope that helps!

    Hello, I would like to ask if they count a series of photos as one work, or many photos? I take photos in one narration, that means i could only hand in 2-3 works for maximum 20 photos?

    • @katjafeldmeier
      @katjafeldmeier  ปีที่แล้ว

      Uhm not sure I understand your question. Yes, if the total is 20, and your series are 10 photos each, you can hand in two series. But if you can do a core edit of 5 images per series, you can show 4 works within the 20. I showed one series with 10 images, and a best of of single images, so 10 single images.
