"Szczepie świetnego narodu"- Narodu Polskiego. Brak jest Koroniarzom tego dawnego narodu polskiego. Może z Rusinami i Litwinami byśmy tak nie głupieli jak teraz. Pozdrawiam i z Panem Bogiem :D !!!
In "Fantasy on Polish Airs" he used theme from Kurpiński's "Elegy for the death of Tadeusz Kościuszko". Some musicologists claim that "Litwinka" had an influence on Chopin's "Fantasy in F minor Op.49", but - in my opinion - it's a doubtful theory. In fact he doesn't quote the song in his piece.
When I hear the theme that starts on measure 21 of Chopin's Fantaisie Op. 49, I sense an allusion to the melody in Litwinka, czyli hymn Legionów Litewskich that is present in the theme starting at 0:20. To me it is a deliberate allusion and I consider this Chopin Fantaisie to be nationalistic, apart from its compositional brilliance.

Kurpinski rings a bell. Didn't Chopin use one of this themes in the Fantasy on Polish Airs?
