I don't like playing Baroque/Early Classical music, but your performance of this Haydn sonata was tremendous! You make me want to get back into Haydn and similar composers. Thanks for an inspiring, well-articulated, and expressive performance!
Wow, barpque and early classical is a big difference.
The sound is absolutely beautiful! And I'm feeling that you really understand Haydn in a sense that you're not exaggerating in a way that makes the interpretation too romantic, but yet you still make an excellent distinguishion between the different movements. But you already know what you're doing so well, I think :) Definitely one of my favourite versions! Well done!
Thank you very much! This is inspiring to read. :)
I am scanning my grandmother's music so that all of her heirs can enjoy it, and I wondered, "What does this sound like?" I'm listening to this piece as I scan the pages and truly enjoying it! Thank you!
This interpretation is amazing. You can really hear the melody, and the sixteenth notes don't get in the way. Technique is also great! Playing this for my exam tomorrow, this was a great inspiration!
His legato is perfect. His interpretation is quite nice.
Thank you!
Haydn's sonatas are deceptively difficult in the subtleties and quick change of moods and color. Fantastic version! Thank you for this recording.
jpeyton62 Thank you!
I'm going to finish music school in few weeks (7th grade). I play this sonate. Thank you very much for playing this sonate. You're my favourite compared to other piano players. Thank you and best wishes from Lithuania
It's the audio quality that shines through here. There's more than enough pixels to see what's going on with the hands and fingers.
:-)
I'm playing this for my own piano recital, and I love your interpretation. Wonderful playing. Thank you for sharing!
The best interpretation! Your playing has and continues to inspire me!
Thank you very much!
Wonderful! Haydn is one of my favorite composers, but I've never heard this piece. You are an amazing pianist!
Green and fresh - like coriander!
Elena Johansson
Interpretazione perfetta "sintonia" col pensiero di Haydn. Asciutto ma estremamente "fedele" all'autore ed allo strumento! Elegante, discorsivo e senza " eccessi" come lo stile dell'epoca richiede!👏👏👏
Grazie molto!
Technique is absolutely brilliant!
Thank you!
Thank you!
As for hardness, perhaps we have to come to agreement on terms, that is, what "hard" is. This sonata isn't hard to press right notes at right times and doesn't require much stamina, but it's very, very demanding in terms of attention and concentration once you want to achieve real perfection in phrasing, articulation and dynamics.
beautiful! Going to draw inspiration from this performance for my upcoming exam
Thank you and good luck!
Wow Stunning. Beautifully balanced and clear. Great sense of style. love it thanks
This is beautiful playing, i enjoyed it very much!
thank you.

Nataliya Samoyloff Spasibo very much! :-)
I saw the E minor in the title (which I associate with dark, inner-turmoils. A ghoulish yellow.) However, I simply did not expect Hayden to send chills down my spine. Thank you for this gift, Sergey.
Mr. Kuzenstov, if you are out there (and all listeners as well) do take a look at my note to color-shape music theory. I believe I have, to a significant degree, identified our hearing the note-colors as spectral, and I have been able to come up with proofs of thematic patters that are constantly related to specific keys. (For example, love songs being constantly written in C. Red.). Or the simple fact Classical "Pastorals" were always reserved for F and F# (greens).

For some reason every time I log into TH-cam your Haydn starts playing. I'm certainly not objecting - it's always a delight.
I'm learning this sonata. It's fantastic.
Clean and precise performance. Great job!
5 stars
Beautiful job,great feeling of style.
beautifully done; congratulations
Excellent..Bravo!
crystal-clear: I enjoyed it very much. Bravo!
Thank you!
I know this is a generalization, but a lot of male pianists I've heard play more heavily...if that makes sense. You play so lightly and it sounds beautiful. Keep it up, we need more good pianists out there =)
Thank you and welcome!
Danke sehr!
Fantastic performance!
otakurocklee Thank you very much!

Àdàm Gerecze Thank you!
I have probably listened to this video over 20 times just now, and seeing as my piano professor asked me to learn this piece, I'll be definitely referring to this video for help! This is awesome!
really inspirational, this is absolutely flawless. I wish I could play as well as you can, but it is obvious you have worked hard for such an amazing performance and interpretation.
Again, such an amazing performance!
Merci beaucoup! :)
Thank you! :)
Amazing, fantastic , you play SOOOOO well!
How beautiful you play this as well! You have a lovely toucher! Thank you again for sharing so we all can enjoy and get frustrated for we(I) will never never reach this level just the tiniest bit! Thank you so much.
Thank you! And good luck!
i agree... one of the finest interpretations of this piece...not too much rubato but enough to make it musical, the right speed but not too fast... i like it:)
Thank you and good luck!
solo sentendo queste note la mia freddezza interiore viene meno!
Veramente un grande interprete!
bewundernswert..wirklich
Again, very nice!

Super!
Merci bien, avec plaisir!
Wow that was amazing :)
Magnifica sonata e splendida interpretazione.
I love how you play this!
Elegancia y belleza, sonido pleno y hermoso. Gracias por poner este video.
Bravo Sergey! You approach Brendel's perfection!!!
Thank you Sergey. You are an amazingly inspiring pianist and musician. To the risk of sounding too flattering, one needs a lot of elegance (like in Mozart) to play Haydn the way you do. And today there are very few young pianists who have any. Keep up the good work, and thanks again for sharing your talent. G. Z.
So good!
My pleasure!
Thank you! :-)
very expressive. great job :)
@lcnzng And especially not too fast... I've seen a lot of versions on TH-cam either which are sooo fast... I cannot experss it otherwise. This is exactly the tempo, right on the good line! My favorite version!
for me it is too fast. Excellent performance, or couse, but I like to linger a bit on Haydn.
Bravo!!!!
Thank you!
Thanks a lot! :-)
wow...*speechless*
Why this man get no claps? I’m clapping for him. Bravo.
Thank you!
This was a part of a larger programme at a competition hence no applause.
