@bakonlicious Thanks :) I can't wait to 3D also! I'll have more videos up tomorrow! I will also try to show it compared to the msr and 120sr in one of the next videos too. thanks for your comment!
@Sh1v3rZone to start learning inverted hovering and such, yes it would be good. smaller helis are said to be harder to fly/less stable, so you may actually have an easier time on the blade 400, however, the blade 400 will get destroyed if you crash it upside down, the blade mcpx will most likely keep on flying, or be inexpensive to repair.
@RoboTekno Thanks for the info! Yeah, i agree with that, they seem like for more stable flight. But like you said, this heli is extremely stable, I tribute that to the aileron/elevator gyro it has due to the flybarless system. I was really amazed how stable this flybarless micro is. Great little heli, can't wait to fly it more.
@ramis182 thanks. Yeah, I didn't expect it so soon either, I'm really excited! I didn't want to brake my new heli indoors, and it was windy outside, so as soon as I can i'll get some 3D vids.
@sundown798 You are correct the DX8 goes to 150%. I agree the piro rate is not super fast, even when turned up; however, I find it to be fast enough, and piros aren't like a hard to do main trick I do anyways. It spins/turns quite fast enough for any trick or stunt.
yes, you may want to step up first to an mcx2 so you learn the full 4 controls, but this would be an ok choice as well, it will be hard at first (coming from either scout or mcx2) but take it slow and you will learn it.
@Chipshotz well it is a CP heli compared to the msr which is a FP heli. it handles different because of that, but it is very stable. If you can fly the mSR, you will be able to start learning on the mcpx
Hmm, I'm not sure, but I'd say those little leading edge spikes act as vortex generators. They're used to delay flow separation over a wing or in this case a rotor to delay stalling :D They'll produce a little more drag, but you'll get more stability. The heli looks very stable. I was impressed by the tail hold it had when you played with the collective.
@roadstar499 it would be hard, but stepping up from any FP heli to a CP heli is not easy. This mCPX is small and durable, I think it would be a good choice for you to learn CP on. Just take it very slow, learn to hover in all directions, then progress from there. The slower you go, the less repairs you will need.
@xxJINTAGxx the mCPX is definetely more powerful out of the box. Yes, I know, it isn't brushless; however, it is lighter, flybarless, and it has more power for it's weight. I would pick the mCPX over the 125cp.
@apodacainc Hey. well as for micro vs larger, it really depends where you want to fly. These micros, like this mcpx, is really best indoors, or outdoors only in very calm wind. They are amazing machines, and very smooth when they have no wind. If you want to fly oudoors more often, then I would suggest a larger heli, like the blade 450 you mention that comes out soon. It really just depends on where you want to fly. Larger helis are also said to be more stable and 'easier' than micros.
Awesome! I Garentee that by the end of this month you have at least 10000 views! Cant wait to see the 3d! Also you should do a size comparison between this and the Msr and 120sr.
@xToXiicxT3RRoRx it will handle up to like 7mph wind ok, but if there is much of a breeze it will get pushed around. it is really meant for indoors, but you can fly outdoors in very calm days(mornings and nights usually the calmest)
@Themides4 stick with a DX6i or better. I am not sure if the DX5 would even work with this heli, probably not because the mCPx is a 6ch heli, and the DX5 I believe is a 5ch transmitter.
@zweefvliegerNL this will be harder than the mSR; however, you should be able to start learning on it. Just take it slow, and don't push the helicopter too fast until you start to learn the controls well.
that is really a cool flying heli, great video too, i didnt expect them to be out yet, anyways, ill be looking forward to some flight vids of this thing.
@RBpowerchannel there is a DVD that came with the heli that should give you some info. Also the setup is different depending on what transmitter you are using. Which TX are you using?
@FryedBurntOut yes, but new blade grips out, problem fixed(I haven't even done the upgrade yet and no problems so far)... I haven't tried the t-rex 100 yet, but I am curious about it!
@khxml yeah, the msr sure is durable! I'll let you guys know once I crash the mCPX a few times... so far no crashes, so I can't comment... but, this is a small, light heli like the msr, so I expect it will also be pretty durable.
@N4161X if you can fly 3D on the simulator, you would probably be able to at least fly this, and start learning on a CP heli, but really, in real life, it is best to go from coaxial to FP then to CP. you should check out the blade mSR before you go into CP helis.
Oh yeah I forgot about that...I did see your vid on the 1#A, and SR last year I remember..This was when I bought the blade sr and my skills coundnt yet fly it..And I watched your review on it as well as others peoples too, and I was like cant wait to get my talent up to par like that..And now a year later I have, well after buying a new a Sr recently, knowing now I have the knowledge to fly it!!..LOL
Hey Earthling, I just wanted to say I enjoy your videos. I'm fairly new to RC heli's but I must say, I'm addicted. I own the blade mcx2 and the blade msr and I love flying them both so I went and bought the blade 400. Wow what a difference to the micro heli's I'm just learning to hover at this point but I'm sure that as soon as I get the Phoenix RC ver3 this week I'll learn much faster. I was just wondering if you think it would be a good idea to get the mcpx to get used to CP heli's before I c
@jcattera hey, you know, I have one of the earlier DX8's, and I need to get a system udpate for mine. I honestly haven't done much research yet, but I'll try to let you know, or post a video about how to update your DX8, once I get it done on mine.
@XxxSmgHunterxxX no this is not a good beginner helicopter. look into the blade mCX or maybe even the blade mSR, but defintely not the blade mCPX for a beginner.
@chowmonkey2002 Yeah, I think I'm in about the same boat as you were (how are you w/ nose in?). Got a 4#3b dbl brushless as my first choppa about a year ago. It is much harder than it looks!!! But now I feel I've outgrown it because I push it too hard and just get constant tail blowouts. So you went with the mCPx!! Cool, I've heard good things about it.. I'm currently debating over the mcpx, and the new walkera m120d01.. I will have both eventually!!! : )
Earthling!! You and Joe handsome are the 2 dudes I look to for advice in the air. Ok, I don't want a huge fleet of cp helis, I've never flown one but I'm ready to proceed passed my 120sr. If you wanted just one cp, would u do the little one or wait for the 450? I'm more of a scale flyer and do not intend any 3d stuff, especially indoors. Advice pleeeeeease!!!! Btw, since I've gotten ur attention, I wanted to know what u adjusted on ur widowmaker boat to stop it from skipping so much. :-)
@chowmonkey2002 I notice your solo pro has that self stabilizing flybar head.. like the blade msr... Going from a self stabilizing fp to an aerobatic cp is going to be a big step!! Good luck!
Right but compared to my other helis like the msr, 4g6, trex 450 you would think this "new" model would be at least be simmilar to the piro rates on them . Have read in the forums about the slow speed also. I dont't do piros for "main" tricks either but some people like me need the quick response to transition between other stunts. Im going to try my friends dx7 and hope it feels better. Thanks for the video :)
the delivery guy was at my door today at 9.30 with my mcpx ,,and i was at home ,but didnt see the guy ,,so im trying to get something arranged for later today ,,or they will come back monday ,so i wont have it the next 3 days ;-( ,,,guess i better watch your good movies in the mean time : )
@earthling1984 I tried setting travel adjust to 125 with the dx6i maxed out. Still disappointed with the speed. Im used to fast. I know the Dx7 and beyond the travel adjust can go to 150. Do you have any suggestions to up the speed or try that on your Dx8? Im used to setting this stuff on a normal gyro.
hi i have a chance lot of expierence with turbine aircraft and just a tad bit with heli. last i flew a heli was when i was nine. would you reccomend for me getting back into heli?
@bliglum Yes but I have the Walkera Flybarless also. That one is much harder to fly. Got the mCPX now also and flight characteristics are pretty similar to the Walkera. It differs slightly so I fly it outside now to get used to the sticks. When I can hover it as easy as the Walkera I take it inside. It's pretty windy here last couple of weeks so flying outside is a bit uncomfortable..
@jirish617 I'd say you're going to want to practice on staying close by, because the smaller your helicopter, the sooner it will be 'too far out'! :) I'd recommend a 450 size collective pitch helicopter, one of the RTF deals available.
Is this a good helicopter for someone who wants to start rc helis but can obly buy 1 ? I want one that will be able to do tricks... My parents said they'll only buy me one because it's a waste of money.......
I can reasonably fly my Nine Eagles Solo Pro in my livingroom. Posted a vid of my last fly also.. Is it difficult to stepup to this Blade mCPX? Or should I try a heli which is in between the Solo Pro and the Blade first..
Cool man, I hope you do a review on the 130 X..Also when ever you can get your hands on the new 500 X, and if you have the $900.00 to spend..Are you gonna get one and do a review? I hope so, I like your videos along with some other peoples..You must only do Eflite products..i never see you do Walkera or any other..i like that Walkera 500 d01 heli..Sorry for the errors in my last message, but you understood I take it...LOL
Hey there, so I'm looking into my first heli and I am interested in purchasing this. I know most people say no BUT the thing is, I do NOT want a coaxial. @Elios0000 Thats funny I checked out my friend's DX7 and it went to 150. They may have changed it he got his 2 months ago but who knows. I did try seting the travel adjust all the way to 150 and the piro rate had not really changed much. Even someone said try - expo on rudder to -30% still didn't work. Just have to get used to the slow piro rate for now. Maybe they might change the firmware on the chip someday.

@4mods yeah, more stable than I thought, the flybarless 3axis gyro works amazing!
Wow, that thing is unreal. Super stable! Thanks man.

@209cynical no, unless you have some extenders/wires because this battery won't fit into the 4 slot charger.
@almostlate as long as the pilot is capable, this little heli will go right where you tell it. it's sure a funy micro sized heli!
@Bags2723 if you can hover the 400, you should be able to start learning on CP helis and the mcpx would be a great choice for indoor practice.
@alfwok yes you can, i don't think the dx5e has expo, so it may be touchy for some people, but yes, the dx5e will bind and fly with it.

I have some walkera reviews, the 4G/4GS and the 1#A. But yes I plan to get the 130x and 500x soon.
@MrTrollYourAss awesome! have fun!
my mCPx flies pretty well, I don't plan to upgrade it. I do plan to get a 130x that will be a lot stronger.
@sundown798 it did seem a bit slow, but that can be fixed with settings in the tx if you want it faster.
That flies very nicely. Someday, I will have one.
Nice review und nice flying! Got mine one week ago and love it!
@Themides4 stick with a DX6i or better. I am not sure if the DX5 would even work with this heli, probably not because the mCPx is a 6ch heli, and the DX5 I believe is a 5ch transmitter.

@jameshoffmandude you need to set that up in your transmitter.
I do not know if you know about this but you can actually cut the container that the canopy comes in then glue it together to make another canopy.
@almostlate heli's are a lot of fun, why not.
Oh yeah I forgot about that...I did see your vid on the 1#A, and SR last year I remember..This was when I bought the blade sr and my skills coundnt yet fly it..And I watched your review on it as well as others peoples too, and I was like cant wait to get my talent up to par like that..And now a year later I have, well after buying a new a Sr recently, knowing now I have the knowledge to fly it!!..LOL
very nice i hope to get one soon when it come out in ireland next week
cool! Well Christmas is coming and i think this allong with some Jet-A ill be in good shape. Also, can you do a how to video for 3D?
Thanx for the info. Mine comes in a couple days. Good vid.

@rctraxxasjoel indoor or outdoor on calm days. I got mine as a BNF so it did not come with a transmitter - I already had one.
@XxxSmgHunterxxX no this is not a good beginner helicopter. look into the blade mCX or maybe even the blade mSR, but defintely not the blade mCPX for a beginner.
@MrDoNoWrong no, i never have, i like a linear feel, and I got used to small movements. when I use expo, it messes me up, i don't like it.

Wonder if it can take a beating like the little mSR. Mine still flys great over a year.
Earthling!! You and Joe handsome are the 2 dudes I look to for advice in the air. Ok, I don't want a huge fleet of cp helis, I've never flown one but I'm ready to proceed passed my 120sr. Next they should do a mcpx belt driven :) that would be cool to bust out some micro auto rotations :)
Got mine today. Like it alot. Kinda loud little bugger compared to my Walkera 4g6. Did the piro rate seem slow to you?
Cool Review Thanks for sharing
@MrDoNoWrong nope, no expo, i like linear feel.
Nice review
Hello! My friend bought a new DX8 radio and he was wondering if the new Airwave Version 2.01 has all the prior updates from 2.0 and prior?
the delivery guy was at my door today at 9.30 with my mcpx ,,and i was at home ,but didnt see the guy ,,so im trying to get something arranged for later today ,,or they will come back monday ,so i wont have it the next 3 days ;-( ,,,guess i better watch your good movies in the mean time : )
can u please make a vid of how to bind the controler to the heli and set it up please
i just got one today and have no idea what im doing
cheers jamie
@Themides4 yes, the heli actually comes with a 4ch, dxi4
@kellanplanes no, i didn't set any mixing yet.
@earthling1984 I tried setting travel adjust to 125 with the dx6i maxed out. Still disappointed with the speed. Im used to fast. I know the Dx7 and beyond the travel adjust can go to 150. @N4161X the 400 in blade is refers to the size of the main blade in mm
@jirish617 I'd say you're going to want to practice on staying close by, because the smaller your helicopter, the sooner it will be 'too far out'! :)
I'd recommend a 450 size collective pitch helicopter, one of the RTF deals available.
@CrazyRabidPony you'll love it :)
Is this a good helicopter for someone who wants to start rc helis but can obly buy 1 ? I want one that will be able to do tricks... My parents said they'll only buy me one because it's a waste of money.......
Are you going to do a 3D flight and a speed test or something?
I have the flybarless Walkera V100D01. Would this be much harder to fly you think?
I can reasonably fly my Nine Eagles Solo Pro in my livingroom. Posted a vid of my last fly also.. Is it difficult to stepup to this Blade mCPX? Or should I try a heli which is in between the Solo Pro and the Blade first..

@T4nm4y not good for beginner. look into the blade mcx, mcx2, or msr.
@rchelilover1 The Blade Mcpx is my First Heli and it is not hard to fly. But I use realflight G5 and fly trex 450 in it.
@strhunter666 lol, what do you mean how many hands.
@strhunter666 oh lol, my friend was here, his hand was in the video too ;p
Hey there, so I'm looking into my first heli and I am interested in purchasing this. I know most people say no BUT the thing is, I do NOT want a coaxial. I have realfight G5.5 and I am not a pro however, I can get into an inverted hover, and fly around decently without crashing, sometimes if I get too far out I lose orientation. But I feel with a micro I'd keep it close...what do you think?
About the tail; "there's a little bit of a twitch every once in a while, but that is to be expected"?
I sincerely disagree there. Why as expected? If the helicopter doesn't have a rock-solid hold, it'll make 3D flying much less comfortable.
actually those blades with the nubs on them they are for outdoor flight
thanks, i have my turbine waiver youngest one, and i was just wanting to fly somthing inside the house, other than the vapor. dogs will hate it :D. also, will it hold a steady hover? I would like to nag the dogs with it in mid air. ;)
@Elios0000 Thats funny I checked out my friend's DX7 and it went to 150. They may have changed it he got his 2 months ago but who knows. it happened, just half off cam.
This heli is cool, but you get blow out on the tail like on the blade sr...You can get the extented carbon tail boom that is longer than the stock version..This helps give better tail authority!!! Have you thought about upgrading to the brushless motor on your mcpx?.. When you flip this heli upside down it isnt as quick on the negative pitch as on the positive..especially with the brushed motor!! It sucks theres no gyro gain..Are you gonna the the 130 X??
@N4161X cp represents 'Collective Pitch'
Can you compare the "NOVUS125 CP vs Blade MCPX" and say which is your favorite?
very nice.glad to see your not doing crazy stuff with it in the house.lol
Great!
How does it handle compared to the MSR?
@MrTrollYourAss lol, don't get too excited.
@MrDoNoWrong not any planes either.
@oeo1977 thx
@jeepnypitpits I use my own settings.
Hey man when you took-off your thumbs on the control nubs and the MCPX just stays smooth in one place did you follow the setting from the manual? can you us some tips for our TX setting for the mcpx ill be using a DX6i, thanks :-)
did you download the mixing setup from the web site for the dx8
@Vbluguitar lol, thanks for the funny explination :)
holy shit that thing is stable
How do I get it into idle up mode?
If i can fly blade 120sr well..will i be able to fly this one? i'm am talking basic manuvers no 3d as i just want a cp for basic flying...thanks
Loooks great!
@earthling1984 Thnx, might give it a try as first CP.
would it get blown away in the wind
@bassax7045 nice!
