    Hi guys, I purchased the LevelMatePro after your original video and I can say it is one of the best upgrades I have ever done to my RV. The system works flawlessly and helps me get my rig level every time. I was so happy with the product I even made a video on installing and using it. I did notice that you indicated an on/off switch has been added. That is a great addition to the original unit. As always another awesome video by the RVgeeks! Happy travels and stay safe.

      We never had a problem with the batteries, because we set ours to the one-hour minimum sleep time, so it shuts off shortly after we get parked. But Chuck, the owner of Logic Blue Tech, who makes these, is super proactive, and since people were asking about being able to have 100% control over the on-off function, he included it in the Gen 2 version. Glad you love your LevelMate. We sure do, too. Safe travels. :)

      @GovG33k 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I've communicated with the owner and was one who asked for this on/off feature. Unfortunately, I've had 50/50 success with my model for my Keystone 324CG when landing. I've tried the magnet trick to wake it up but usually end up having to pull out my 6' level, pull the battery and reconfigure.

    • @RVgeeks
      @RVgeeks  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We've pulled out battery a couple of times, but that didn't require setting it up again, since the internal settings memory holds for a time without the battery in. Although if the battery was dead for a while, that could kill the settings. If we understand correctly, Chuck may be offering a special deal for anyone who purchased the Gen1 model who'd like to upgrade to a Gen2 (which supposedly has more upgrades than just the on/off switch). We'd suggest reaching out and asking. Nothing to lose there... and then you can report back and let us know the details. ;-)

  • @SuperSteiner74

    This thing is great, but I will suggest.... If you have slide outs, the weight of the slide out will weigh down whatever side (usually driver side) the slide out is on. My slide out will weigh down the driver side of my TT by about .75" to 1.25". Make sure to compensate for that additional weight when leveling the travel trailer. I love this tool.

    • @johanmuntzing9496

      Great comment Scott. When I calibrated my device for the first time, it recommended that I extend all slide outs before I calibrate. That way the device accounts for the difference you pointed out. thanks for the call out.

    I LOVE my Levelmate that I installed on my fifth wheel. Happy to see that the new version has a power switch. I have been using a magnet (needs to be a powerful magnet) to wake mine up. Just ordered the new version and will be giving my current one to a good friend. Bought my current model after watching your first video on it. Keep up the good work.

    This is the best LevelMatePRO 2 video anywhere. I just got mine and I like the on/off switch and the other features that were included in the upgrade for the LevelMatePro 2. Great video action, steady and smooth. RVGeeks always do great videos. Thanks. One important note with the PRO 2 is the installation of the unit is best on a wall that is parallel with the trailer from back to front, which means on driver side interior wall or on passenger side interior wall. That is crucial for the install of the unit inside of the traveler or motorhome.

    I remember watching the first video you gents did for this piece of kit and was very impressed with it. I also knew it would work in a towable. As I tour by myself here in the UK with my caravan (Travel trailer) my setting up is exactly how Tyler demonstrated. While this practice is great for my step count & keeps my doctor happy....it's a complete pain in the ar......backside.
    Now I just need to find someone who ships to the UK :(

      We know what you mean about the LevelMate cutting even further into our "exercise regimen" (and yes, we use that term loosely). LOL But it is so cool! We're pretty sure it's not approved for any markets outside North America, AUS & NZ, but since those are all British colonies, maybe the Motherland's equivalent of the FCC will be next to approve. Or you'll have to pick one up on the black market. ;-)

    Seems really expensive to me based on what you get. My wife and I have no problem leveling our Airstream with bubble levels and an Iphone. The Iphone has a level and I just drive forward or backward with blocks until the trailer is level side to side. Then I raise or lower the trailer using the bubble level. I like this device, but I can do the same thing for free!

I do have to say I've had connectivity / dead battery issues the past year and I think this "Newer" version will correct any of the problems the original has. I just wish I could upgrade /exchange my current one for the "Newer" version......????¿¿¿???

      @RVgeeks  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Tom! Great to hear that your LevelMatePRO and Anderson levelers combine to make a great set-up. We were familiar with the Andersons, but had never seen them in action until we shot this video. We don’t know for certain, but we think that Chuck at LogicBlue may be aware that some people with the Generation 1 unit may be interested in the Gen2 model now that it’s out, and he might have some kind of discount for repeat buyers. We suggest that you reach out to him, because he’s amazingly proactive and eager to help customers whenever he can. You can reach him by e-mail at support@command-electronics.com or you can use the contact form on the LevelMatePRO website: logicbluetech.com if you prefer. If there is indeed any special available for Gen1 buyers, we don’t know that he’d do an exchange, but maybe a discount, allowing you to step up to the latest model and then gift your old one to a fellow RVing friend? Good luck, and please be sure to let us know how you make out and if there’s any deal to be had!

    • @RVgeeks
      @RVgeeks  7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Haha! We're so used to how dead accurate the LevelMate is, we forgot that people who haven't experienced it don't take it for granted the way we do! It is 100% spot on every single time!
      Part of the set-up is getting the RV perfectly level using a bubble, or whatever level you always used, and then telling the LevelMate to remember that that exact position is perfectly level. Then it remembers it from then on with incredible accuracy. You can check out the first video in this series to see it being set up in the first place: th-cam.com/video/Jh_5Nwu9T8E/w-d-xo.html

    • @RVgeeks
      @RVgeeks  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We were wondering, too, Wendy! It was great to see it in action. When Tyler backed his truck's hitch under the trailer tongue, and it was EXACTLY the right height, we all started laughing, as if we'd witnessed some kind of magic. LOL

    • @MissSadara
      @MissSadara 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      That part is a huge plus! We've stressed about that enough that we haven't had an issue yet... and there are two of us to hitch the trailer, but you just never know. We also use walky talkies when hitching and unhitching. But, mistakes happen! I really love the idea of this gadget. I'm much more sensitive to the trailer not being level than my husband. We weren't level front to back at one site and it drove me crazy, I even made my kids sleep a different direction in their bunk so their heads would be higher than their feet. Probably would have been easier to level the trailer, but after the "you're too sensitive" eye roll from my husband I found another solution. lol

    We have a Class A and are having problems with our hydraulic jacks not retracting. 2 yrs ago it was the driver rear. Now it's the passenger rear. We get an alarm when the engine is cranked that a jack is down but it isn't. We were packed and ready to leave for a trip home and had to unload everything into the car and travel back & forth from my dad's to the family lakehouse, 30 mins away for our family reunion. Now we are back home, scouring TH-cam for videos on hydraulic jacks. Not finding much info so far.

    • @RVgeeks
      @RVgeeks  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      +DWDinAtlanta If you're jack isn't actually down? If you did a visual inspection and can see that the Jack is fully retracted, but you are getting a jack extended warning, then you probably have a sensor problem not a jack retraction problem. If that sensor failed, it may be a reasonably easy replacement. You can do a test if you are able to identify the sensor on the Jack strut. If you can you can swap sensors between two of the jacks and see if that switch is the problem to the other Jack. If so you have a bad sensor. It might also be a loose connection on the sensor. That's the first thing we would start looking at.

I do have a question and I don't know if you will know the answer, but was Tyler using a Toyota Tundra to tow his trailer? I don't think I've seen anyone towing with a Toyota truck before and I was wondering what the towing capacity is for a Tundra. Do you happen to know?

    • @RVgeeks
      @RVgeeks  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Tyler does indeed have a Toyota Tundra, but we don't know what year or the specs. I'll be he wouldn't mind answering your question directly though: tyler@toughtopawnings.com And tell him the Geeks sent you!

      I own a Tundra, the 5.7 V8 with tow package can do about 10,300 lbs. I own a 4.7 V8. Of course it depends on the model. I just did a trip on the Oregon coast and noticed that there were a lot of Tundras towing. Not sure how popular Tundras are in your area but they appear to be quite popular here in the Northwest.

    I currently have a big foot leveling system on my fifth wheel and it does a pretty good job but still needs a little help now and again. This product appears to be a good way to make those adjustments. Do you have any recommendations as to whether to level with slides in or out?

    • @RVgeeks
      @RVgeeks  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      When it comes to leveling with slides in vs out, we recommend following the manufacturer's instructions. Some call for "in" and some call for "out." We've done it both ways, as Newmar slides are so robust that they can handle just about anything. But not all slides are created equal, and some manufacturers probably have specific reasons to call for one over the other.

      I can see this working well for trailer owners, just like you showed on this video. I know you guys use this on your RV, but do you think is really necessary on a Class A with auto level.?

    • @RVgeeks
      @RVgeeks  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Great question, Hector! While we'd consider it absolutely essential for anyone without a jack system (both motorhomes and towables), it's still a great improvement for those of us with auto-leveling systems. We always had our bathroom door swinging open after leveling, and had to fine tune, because the tolerances on the HWH system are so poor. Now that never happens, since the LevelMatePRO is incredibly accurate, leveling the rig to within an extremely tight tolerance every time. The other benefit is the ability to pick the most level ground before ever deploying the jacks. We used to end up thinking we were on pretty level ground, only to have a jack max out and not be able to get level. That never happens any more, since we can tell in advance when we're on level enough ground to be able to level... or to at least put down some stacker blocks under the low side if we can't find a level enough spot. We love it!

    • @omni875

      hellsbells3084 depends if your slides tip your TT at all when they are extended. I've learned with ours I need to raise my slide side about 1in before I deploy my slide, then, once it's out Im perfectly level. I think my electric levelers arent the best at keeping it from tipping slightly.

    • @jeffbarnett1207
      @jeffbarnett1207 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      We get level, snug up the stabilizers, THEN extend slides. I don't think the slides take it off level much, anyway. You have two big slides on one side, though. We have only one, but my guess is that it doesn't make much difference.

    So the jack's in the back are not used to help level your trailer? Just used for stability?

    • @RVgeeks
      @RVgeeks  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      That’s right, Alex. Those aren’t actually jacks. They're stabilizers. Using leveling blocks or devices like the Anderson levelers shown in the video, along with adjusting the trailer tongue height, is how you level. Once you’re level, the stabilizers help keep things steadier while you’re moving around in the RV.

    i'm assuming that you have to have your camper level before installing the sensor on the inside of the camper.

    • @RVgeeks
      @RVgeeks  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes indeed! Once you “tell” the LMP the camper is level (as part of the setup process) it always knows where “level” is.

    • @RVgeeks
      @RVgeeks  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sorry... not sure about that. We'd suggest for accuracy, each RV owner should take measurements of their specific rig... just to be sure the settings are correct.

    Tyler needs a bigger truck to haul that travel trailer or a better load leveling system. That's even if he has one installed. That thing was squatting big time.

      Hi Thinh. Not sure we're understanding what you're asking about... but if you want to be able to connect to the WiFi networks at RV parks, you'd be looking at a device like a WiFiRanger ( th-cam.com/video/iYQHBK8VFV4/w-d-xo.html ). But then you're dependent upon the speed & quality of the WiFi network at the RV Park (which is usually not so good). If you really NEED to be online, you're going to want to look into cellular data plans... and get something like a MiFi/JetPack device that will connect to the cellular network and then share it over its own WiFi network. And if you want to be in remote locations and still be online, you'll want a cellular booster, like the WeBoost unit we installed ( th-cam.com/video/APHIlkTdWLo/w-d-xo.html ).
      If cellular is something you're interested in, we'd suggest that you join RV Mobile Internet ( rvmobileinternet.com - you can save $5 on your first year's membership with code "WFRGEEKS"). Our friends Cherie & Chris run that site... and are THE go-to gurus for everything related to mobile connectivity.
      Hope this helps!

    I find that often campsites are uneven. By using the Level Mate Pro while you're parking the trailer may help you find the one level spot so you don't need leveling blocks at all! If you travel solo, you'll find you spend too much time getting in and out of the tow vehicle just to find a level spot.
    Unfortunately, travel trailers are not perfect. Your floor, countertop, fridge, or table may not agree on what's perfectly level, mine don't.

    Maybe it's me but I don't get it: Drills to lower stabilizers, front electric leveling & now easy side leveling. If I wanted all these comforts I wouldn't be RVing, I'd be in a hotel. Get some freaking exercise people! Isn't that the fun of camping?

    What is the range for the bluetooth? Some devices disconnect after a few feet

    • @RVgeeks
      @RVgeeks  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      We've used ours at least 25-30 feet away without a problem, including outside (through the walls). Maybe even further. Seems like a very robust connection. It's meant to be usable up at the trailer hitch and driving the truck, and we didn't have a single disconnect during this entire video shoot.

    What about truck campers and pulling a small trailer?

    • @RVgeeks
      @RVgeeks  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Ken! It will level any RV, so yes, it will work fine on a truck camper. If the "small trailer" you're pulling is also a camper / travel-trailer that you want to level, you'd need a second LevelMatePRO for that one. You could theoretically get one LevelMate to work for more than one RV, but it would be impractical, as you'd have to remove/install/reconfigure the settings each time.

    • @RVgeeks
      @RVgeeks  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi George! The LevelMatePRO works great on a 5th, measured just like a travel trailer. The new setup wizard in the app walks you right through it. Super clear and easy to follow.

      I have the same RV. I pull it with a 3500 Dodge. It sags even a larger truck down to about level. I have air bags, but usually don't pump them up for this tow. Air bags on a 1500 series is a must!

    OMG. I am serious. WTF is wrong with people who have a trailer SO LEVEL they can't tell the difference, so they need to buy a smart phone usable system to TELL them it's super-duper level, so now they can stop freaking out about it. Talk about inventing problems so you can throw money at them. I've been doing this - in a trailer - for years, and have never been so off-level that I needed to move it, so I could sleep, or cook, or read, or ANYTHING. Good grief.

      If our rig isn't exactly level, the bathroom door swings open, and I bang into it when I get up to P during the night. Maybe an old people's problem? LOL As my mother would say: "That's why they make vanilla and chocolate." ;-)

      @writertaylorleecooper9357 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Okay, I get that. It would irritate me enough to want to get it level. I do not have any swinging doors inside my rig. Yet. It just occurred to me, that if I got a lady partner, she may insist on at least one.

    • @writertaylorleecooper9357
      @writertaylorleecooper9357 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I never had a problem with 'level' on my schooner, but that refrigeration system may not have been sensitive to 'level', for obvious reasons. It may also account for why the marine refrigeration systems are so expensive. In my trailer, I am looking to using 10 cu. ft. apartment type reefers, so they are cheap, easy to replace when they fail, and modern energy efficient. I will me using a shock absorbing pad to mount it on, but will not know if it is level sensitive until I am using it.
