The cameras are better at capturing how it really looks (although it’s still not 100% accurate, Broadway shows are so very beautiful in person). I’ve been many of broadway shows and they’re always very bright and beautiful.
@@pablocapuchino7839 I believe you’re wrong. Broadway shows have always been bright. And the floor has scratches on if from people dancing on it 6+ times a week since 1988.
@@cluelessandcurious5277 I believe it is you who are wrong. I work in the industry and can assure you it’s not the case. What Hal Prince wanted for Phantom was a dark black box with drapes. The lighting for the original POTO production is quite dark. The current production of Les Mis (London, US tour, Japan…) is also incredibly dark. Much darker than Phantom.

Everything is indeed much brighter. Result of the 2021 changes, I´m afraid. And awfully fast tempo! I also miss the shiny black floor.

@@cluelessandcurious5277 and no. The floor was replaced in 2021. It used to be a shiny black floor. Now it’s much more matte.
