Adored this movie! Never seen it before but it was exactly what I needed. So special, God Bless Old Movies. Lovely acting, how could you not fall in love with that old lady!
I ⚘️ surely agree 👍 . Compare to a great number of today's films , the older ones are far more better as it takes great courage to appreciate those films before my time .
Charming film so good to hear actors speaking English properly they tend to mumble so much nowdays. They sure dont make these feel good films like this anymore.
I don’t know what possessed me to watch this again... I watched it a few years ago and cried my eye out, NOW it had the same effect! I love the character play by Minnie Dupree! I hope I am a kind gentle woman like that when I get older! Thank you for the upload! I love airhead Billie Burke’s characters! 💕
What a charming film! Thanks so much for the upload. I enjoy colorized versions, but black and white originals are absolute art forms. Reading the biographies of the entire cast is well worth one's time. I'll treasure this one; I'd have never seen it if not for your efforts. 🥰
David Selznick had left RKO, married the daughter of MGM boss Louis B. Mayer, and set up his own shop. With the success of 1937's "A Star is Born", he had the cash in hand to make this one, which also had the lovely Janet Gaynor and a young Paulette Goddard flanking Douglas Fairbanks, Jr. He recruited good players and crews to his studio and made great films, especially his next one, a Southern epic which he had to make a deal with his father-in-law to get done.
I love this wonderful feel good movie, and initially I had seen the colorized version of it. I hope to one day see it again color, but will definitely watch it again in blk/wht.
“They say if you hold a puppy by the tail, it’s eyes will dropout.” Must definitely be recreated for now’s generation. It’s timeless, in its’ self. But, what actor WOULDN’T want to nibble at the chance???
Some of the train-crash footage (around 23 minutes in) may well have been recycled for use in the opening credits of the 1960s t.v. series "The Fugitive" (made mostly in b/w.)

What a cute little movie! Thoroughly enjoyed watching it! Too bad they don’t make movies like this anymore.
We all need movies 🎥 like this in our lives! Superior to most of today's films.
I just love these timeless classics. Pity they dont make movies like this anymore!
A shame they don't make them like this any more. Wonderful film.

The mother sounds like Glenda the good witch from The Wizard of Oz.
I thought she looked like her as well!
@@siege919that was Billie Burke! 😮😮😮😮
Bingo ! Billie Burke was the Wizard of Oz , the Good Witch of the North . " And Toto , too . "
Synopsis similar to "Kind Lady" with Basil Rathbone.
