This reaction actually made me think differently about Nayeon's arc. Before, I thought it was just lazy writing. It felt stupid for the series to focus on her so much only to randomly kill her off. But yall have changed my mind. I think her arc is about being TOO LATE to fix her mistakes. She had thousands of chances to be a better person: not infecting Gyeongsu, genuinely apologizing to him, letting the other students know about the food in the pantry, helping them during the music room attack, etc. She was so prideful and selfish that she let every single chance she had slip by. So when she finally wants to "redeem" herself, it's too late. She waited way too long and pays the price of her lateness by getting killed violently with no one around to mourn her. Moral of the story: don't waste time and do whatever you have to do, _now._

I love this editor's sense of humor its top-notch, adds stuff without making it cringe and forced.
While it seems how so many arcs just "don't go anywhere," I like that. It's frustrating, believe me, but also very realistic. Not everyone gets out alive, even after being good for a bit. Not everyone gets to redeem themselves. Some never see those they hate get karma. I appreciate the realism. 🤷🏽♀️
And I feel like most all of the surviving are actively learning from all of the deaths/arcs and benefitting from them in later episodes. Even if a death is technically necessary plot wise, it teaches everyone a necessary lesson.
Redemption is a rare and special thing, after all.
It is not for everyone.

The one thing I applaud this show for is that. I hate it when so many stories give people redemption arcs when they are completely terrible, or they are unimportant to the story.
If someone was terrible to me, I'm not going to be thr bigger person, and let them slide by. Nah, I want karma to come in at full force, or slow and painful. No "I'm sorry" is going to redeem my grudge.

also i just really like to point out that y’all can’t always expect namra to be able to exert her zombie powers all the time because unlike gwi nam and eun jin she needed time to transform, they’re all hambies but namra’s situation is different from the two since she’s immune - she can revert back to being human and zombie so if y’all see her eye looking weird it means she’s overpowered by her zombie side but eventually it goes away and returns back to normal because she comes back into her human form, this was stated by the director and writer of AOUAD theirselves

Crazy how Nam-Ra heard somebody puking from across the school but couldn't hear Gwi-Nam climbing the damn building. One of my biggest gripes is how inconsistent her abilities are. Sometimes she's superhuman, sometimes she's regular, sometimes she has a 'wind up' period for her abilities.
I get that y’all want Namra to take action real quick with the situation happening right now with Gwi-Nam and Cheong-san but y’all have to understand that she doesn’t really know how to handle well the zombie side of her, so her transformation takes a while to happen.
I love that this series is very realistic on how people behave and how lives are not plot arcs the can go anywhere and end anytime.

And yeah schools are designed from the ground up to stop the spread of fire, in terms of layout. It's why a lot of schools actually don't have sprinklers or require them, the buildings are just inherently fire resistant.

I couldn’t help but remember after your post-episode discussion on why the soldiers didn’t clear the building of any other survivors, there was an incident in Korea where a ferry ship capsized (or basically flipped over) and there were an estimate of 300 high school students were in attendance. Unfortunately the lifeguards were unable to get any survivors that weren’t in a reasonably reachable area and resulted in only 75 of those students getting rescued. It was a tragic event that really impacted the Korean people and I’m pretty sure the director wanted to try and emphasize on that a little.
All in all the soldier’s mission was probably a quick scan on the area and rescue whomever were in reach of rescuing (without compromising the safety of their present squad), but I’d like to believe that they would’ve gone and attempted to save our protagonists if given the knowledge from that trash dude.
I really am glossing over what happened in Korea IRL and I know I probably haven’t done it much justice but it was called the Sewol Ferry and it occurred in 2014 if anyone is interested in finding out more.

Please give Namra a break, everything is new to her. She's just figuring out her abilities. She didn't even know she had super strength until she got pissed and fought off that psychopath. As you can tell she doesn't transform quickly until her emotions become extremely heightened plus she has to be careful because I'm sure she's not trying to eat her friends.

They just said it was dumb that she has super hearing and didn't hear all that noises, so if we follow the logic of the scenario she should have hear those noises and prevent her friends that something is about to happen or someone is climbing.

But In my opinion she didn't hear the noises because there were lightning strikes that maybe cloud her ability
Because at the End of the Episode we hear a lightning before the credits
Or maybe she's fighting the urge to become a zombie that her ability is just temporary.
She doesn't have super hearing all the time. Or any of the other special abilites, for that matter. Her condition goes back and forth, so when the zombie cells aren't dominating, she's pretty much a normal person, like she was at that moment. So it's not a plot hole.

But I gave my opinions too on why she didn't hear the noises, and one of them was on a temporary standpoint.
The problem is that, we don't necessarily know the true reason why she didn't hear Something, we just assume that it shall be that or that reason, expecting that one of them is the main reason for it.
