Insane Abilities Of Extinct Animals You Didn't Know About

- Who do you think it is? A horse? A gorilla? Or a zebra? It’s all of that combined. This is Chalicotherium, and it lived in territories of Eurasia and Africa in the Miocene epoch - the period when evolution created the most bizarre and surrealistic creatures. Thanks to such an unusual physique, this animal needed just one powerful right hook to knock any predator out. And that's not the only oddball with a unique superpower that existed long before us. I
n this video, I'll tell you: what creature could break the sound barrier? Who had a vacuum-cleaner kind of mouth? Who could move upside down? And most importantly, what were the most extraordinary features that extinct animals had? But (spoiler alert!) one of these creatures I’ve just made up. Can you guess which one?
Hallucigenia looks like what gave the founding titan powers. That is a cool ability.

For those wondering the Enigmabroma is the fake one (The octopus thingy). The largest cephalopod ever as far as we know is the colossal squid. Also, the name Enigma-bro? Creative, but also dead give away.

Just don't in what circumstances fall in a hole of a giant ass tree with a hallucigenia on it
The Dreadnoughtus (the giant long neck dino) was actually 26 m (85 ft) long, not 26 m tall. There were taller dinosaurs, longer dinosaurs, and heavier dinosaurs. However, Dreadnaughtus has the most complete, hence reliable fossile record out of all the giant Sauropods (long neck dinos).
That may be the inspiration of the Pokemon "Drednaw"
@@freeby2312 So, I did a little reasearch the etymology of the pokemon Drednaw (I'm french, so the name of the pokemon is different), and his name in english comes from "dread", "gnaw" and "dreadnought", which is a type of battleship. So I guess both the dino and the pokemon got the same name origin.
What's with the comparisons in this episode?
This dinosaur weighed as much as 7 T-rexes!
Me: And that is...?
Did we mention that this dinosaur is as tall as TWO Hollywood signs?

Great video. Informative and entertaining.
But I wonder... where have all the giant animals gone? Sure we have blue whales, killer whales, giraffes, elephants, but the diversity of giant animals seems to be at an all time low compared to millions of years ago.
Well first and foremost, there were no humans. Also there were higher oxygen levels, which ecourages larger growth. And then there was this big bang back then that caused an ice age. Due to that less oxygen was in the air (no plantlife that produced any).
With temperature change as well, it's harder for the larger creatures to live
@@gayforkorosensei3 I suppose the Chicxulub meteor didn't help things either. Although that still gives life millions of years to evolve and grow to big sizes.
I think Earths history would be amazing to see from the very beginning of life to now. We will never know 99% of all the life that ever lived on earth.
Mammals can only grow to a certain size on land. Otherwise they would just overheat.
Also you need alot of food to support that size.
@@gayforkorosensei3 the temperature change happens due to the higher concentration of co² in the athmosphere - which dissipates the oxygen. So yes, the composition of the atmosphere matters.
As soon as i saw the thumbnail my mind went: ATTACK ON TITAN BOI

I'm surprised the scientists thought that one creatures "spikes" were it's feet. How many animals and insects have horns or spiny parts to deter predators from eating them?
They had wild imaginations back then. And most spines are really small compared to the rest of the organism. Cant fault them for thinking the spines were legs with the length they were
