On this truck, you actually have to lift the handle, then pull, then kind of move it to the left to lock it into place. A kingpin puller would be too awkward for that. But that's not what's happening anyway. It's because I'm parked on a slope and the trailer pulls back against the kingpin and keeps it locked. I have to remember to set the trailer brakes, then push back against the kingpin before I set the tractor brakes. I always forget.

Whatever company I go to next, I'm going to get around a lot more. Will be looking for something with a lot of options, and longer loads.
