What I love about this, is how complex outcomes are distilled into simple actions. I can break down and control each of these variables, apply them one at a time, and know when each is embedded. Top job, well done, thank you very much! I'm off to the range this evening and will have a cheeky dabble!
Loved the swing thought of pushing the left hand down and away to start the swing. Always great content Mark. Love the vlogs and the lols you have with Lockey and I also love the physics and swing thoughts analysis.
That third tip about width is brilliant! It put a light on in my head about how, without that width, I get the club trapped behind my body when I try to fire my lower body before my upper. That made me see why- I NEED that space for my torso to turn a bit with my hips as it starts to rotate before my shoulders and arms! I love when someone can explain or make me understand WHY I need to do what they're showing me, and this does just that.
Been doing this all week, not hitting balls just the ‘twist’ movement and half up the club grip one. Played today, iron striking so much better! Topped every wood and hybrid I hit lol😂 Great tips as always ✌️🥇
Always love these tips. I especially loved the foot drill. It’s hard to keep that balance and work ground forces but the drill makes the motion dynamic as well as balanced. Thanks Mark!
What about using gravity for the 1st bit of the downswing. It feels like when im doing this correctly i generate a more powerful shot. Sometimes i lose a little control. Not sure whether to persevere as it provides some great shots but , i wonder if I can trust it
I was working with someone on a similar thing to the left hand coming down on the way back yesterday! Hands were rolling on the way back and leading to big hooks ...Set the club differently, like what you said and much harder to send it left Do you think that influences toe down as well? ie flatter at impact and less left bias
I reckon the second drill is gold for pretty much everybody! Not saying the other two aren't good but while I see amateurs doing 1 and 3 well sometimes, I don't think I ever see even very low hcp amateurs do the torque move as well as they could and should.
Think you are great doing this kind of stuff but as regards tip 2 ... I once heard that at the start of every season Jack Nicklaus would work on ‘rolling’ his trail foot inward not the move you describe. Thoughts?
Great stuff. I’ve been working on the split grip one for a few weeks and lengthening my backswing a little (injury made it really short for so long I have to consciously make it longer again). I have picked up almost a full club with irons already on good strikes and just creating a completely different feel in the backswing. I’m going to incorporate the ground force ideas next, but gotta keep one change at time for how little I practice vs playing
Coming up to 4 months playing now and feel like I'm getting to the stage where there's only 2 or 3 things I need to think about when I step up to the ball. When I started out I was thinking about so much stuff at once it becomes a brain overload.
Concentrate on the butt end of your club, nothing else. Where it points at variois points of backswing, more specifically. My guess is your forearms are over rotating but would need to see.
@@patitoshore keeping the butt end of club pointed somewhere between the ball/target line and your toe line will absolutely guarantee no laid off position. Laid off is iff butt end of club points outside target line or away from you at all. Never let it get outside the target line at any point in the swing. Your laid, off problem will be gone.
Hang on….how am I going to keep the golf glove I have stuffed under my lead arm from falling to the ground if I separate my lead arm on the back swing? 😂
@@MarkCrossfield been using tip 2 (the right heel up at start etc) btw since you mentioned it in your garden during lockdown in one of the vids referencing the biomec guy who showed you it. I swing a 2 or 4kg Kettlebell back and through while doing it. Helps with the old kinetic chain etc.
My tips: no one ever hit a ball with the backswing, so take your time and get into position. Sure, a fast backswing can build tension to release on the forward swing, but it can also put you off-balance. Turn, turn, turn. Decide if you want the heel down. The advantage is balance and tension. The disadvantage is if is restricts your turn. Your call. (Mine stays down.) Tempo, tempo, tempo. Consider maintaining a 3:1 ratio between your back and forward swings. That's what professionals do. Whether you have a fast or slow tempo, that ratio should hold. Start the downswing with your feet, particularly the forward foot.

First shot was actually pretty damn impressive hitting the ball that solid while flailing the backswing about, well done Parfield!
I love your videos you definitely help my game a lot.
Thanks for watching
Makes brill sense will try this out.
Thanks for your intel bra!
Great video. Simple and effective
Scam
Are you aloud to put your putter in front off ball and place it on the ground to get your line of putt then lift it over ball before putting

I really like tip two for foot work. A poor man’s force pedals, and as we know, nobody can afford force plates at home
Crossfield Bingo "Crisp up strike"
My club gets really laid off when I don't have my arm across my chest, can't fix it!

Nope. Not all videos are released in my life timeline. 👍👍

Nice theory but none of its urs 😂 ur swing is in reverse, there's a huge backswing n a tiny through swing.
You can only go as fast as you can break
Great content I can tell by just practicing the movements, how much my weight shift has improved 💥🏌🏻♂️
Do you advocate starting with a tilt or left hip bump before starting the back swing? 🏌️⛳️👍
Good to find a trigger that aids you. Having one is good though!
