A little background here as my grandfather worked at the Science Center for nearly 25 years so I grew up with the place. I'm extremely familiar with the building, including many of the staff only areas. The Dover elevator is the original from when the building opened in 1991. There is an an identical (though not as nice cosmetically) Dover in the back areas for staff use. There is also a freight elevator. The glass Otis in the atrium was added during a renovation around 2003. They actually had to remove the ceiling/roof and use a crane to lift the trusses and lower them into the building.
That is awesome. I wish I could see the big freight elevator. Thanks so much for the story. I visited it when it was brand new in 1991. I remember the old science center which is now the theater.
I remember all of these years his camera use to not focus sometimes and since now he has the new iPhone 13 Pro Max the camera can stay focus and clean!
@@DieselDucyThis elevator is made out of glass on the sides and back and is traction and has a right single two-speed sliding doors and was originally installed in 2004 and this elevator is newer than the Dover impulse (which was originally installed 1991) hydraulic elevator with a left single slide door. Are there 2 elevators in this museum? Actually, I think there are more than 2 elevators in the museum. I wish I wanted you to retake all of those elevators in the Saint Louis Science Center with all of the elevators that were installed starting on the first floor or lobby with the oldest elevator that was originally installed. The Dover impulse elevator is not made out of glass. And also, does the Saint Louis Science Center have a parking garage or not? 😊
2:08 Dover impulse (originally installed 1991) 2:12 Nudge mode 3:51 Otis Series 1 (installed 2004) 3:59 Alarm That's why those kinds of fixtures sound like in those elevators. There is no alarm on the Dover impulse and no nudge mode on the Otis series 1 elevators what they sound like in this video. I would really like to hear all the alarms and phone buttons, nudge modes and the bell indicators and watch the lantern lights what they sound like in or outside the elevators. Can you hear call cancel buttons inside elevators? Yes or no. I also would like for you to video picture all of the fire services outside of the elevators on the lobby. 😊
It's actually an Early Gen2 surprisingly, i never would've guessed that Gen2's could be installed as early as the era of Series 1, but i guess it is true. @John Nashville Productions.
2:13 Uh oh, nudge mode already?? 😂😂If the Dover wants to close, the Dover will close, haha 😂 These elevators may have something scientifically interesting if it’s inside of a Science Building
:52, that level is locked-off, hee hee. You started from the lower levels but those they are locked-off for down traffic. 1:19 THUMP THUMP THUMP, THUMP TRUMP THUMP, THUMP THUMP THUMP...
This proves that there are Gen2's with Series 1

@@DieselDucy your welcome.
4:00 screech as a Alarm Signal in this Otis Elevator that you don't hear every day usually it is a Bell
Yep
You need to see the Louisville Science Center in downtown Louisville. It has a fast Dover with Impulse and huge Murphy with GAL.
After all these years of watching your channel since I was a little boy, you finally filmed the elevators at the Science Center🥲
I love the science center.
I Made Videos Of These Elevators Today And On The Otis Elevator When I Was Filming It The Lights In The Elevator Were Colors Green And Red
Awesome.
this cant be a dieselducy video without elevators😊😂
will always be elevators :)
Interesting elevator layout! 2 Dover's and 1 Otis Series 1!
Yeah the dover is original and was always backing up. The other elevator was really needed.
@@DieselDucy gotcha! That makes sense!
Hey Andrew, hope you're well! Fun fact, back a few years ago when I was more into your channel, I bought an originally painted Deisel Ducy on Ebay
awww :). I hope you still watch!
Nice Gen2 with Series 1 fixtures!
Thanks!
3:59 At least it was the alarm bell and not the phone lol.
Yeah. That would have been bad
Rare video that doesn’t end with the doors closing!
I know right ?
nice view from that one elevator.
Thanks!
I love love 💕 the Otis gen elevator because it’s glass
It was nice :)
Seeing a Gen2 with Series 1 is rare.
it is!

Nice
Thanks
I seen the Otis Gen2 Series 1 but I didn’t know there was a Dover Impulse
The dover was original to the building from 1991
I never use the stairs unless the elevators are broken.
These are nice elevators and steps. I wonder why there was a gate in the stairway.
I figured it out. It is in case of an emergency egress people will know which floor is the exit floor.
5:12, What was Jason pointing at?
The controller for the elevator
3:59 oops wrong button
Yep lol
2:13 DEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE LOUD BUZZ
Yep lol
Didn't this building have escalators at one point?
Yes it did. The building was renovated around 2002-2003 and the escalators were replaced with a staircase at that point.
I believe it did.
The Otis Elevator is a fast Hydraulic

Yes truly
MRL traction.
@@DieselDucy Even better, it's an MRL
Is a Traction, not Hydraulic
3:59 You press accidentally the alarm button instead of press the door close button
Stateing obvious
lol
also we miss tj hope hes back in ur videos
I hope to see him sometime.
@@DieselDucyis TJ still interested in elevators and making content?
That's an elevator or two
Wow
Thanks!

I think the reason the gate is there is for an emergency egress. that way people wont go down to a non exit floor.
