Just saw an interview from back then, where Fletch said his kids were not as invested in his career but liked to go to his tours and were specially excited for TOTP. Man, I hope they can look back at this filled with happy memories. I believe his kids are around my age, and while they most be around their 30s, I hope they have found peace after his untimely passing.
For me there was something special about the album Playing The Angel. The songs really grew on me and it was a new and different direction from Exciter. They seemed more excited and during this tour they were spot on, lots of energy and a great set live. The album fit in better with their earlier work because it had a staunch dark feel to it while also remaining hopeful. It was upbeat with down beat overtones haha. The two albums they did Hillier that followed didn't do it for me like this first one did. I think they should have done just one album with Hillier, this one. Just opinion though. I liked Wrong, Fragile Tension, and In chains so maybe Sounds they should have done, but it doesn't have the same thing going on. They shouldn't have done a third album with Hillier. I think they do better for themselves when they keep changing the producer up after one album since it helps push them a bit. They got lazier and stuck in a comfort zone with Hillier. He worked fast with them, maybe too fast though and it shows.

PTA is still one of my favourite albums from nowadays. I've heard they worked fast with James Ford too.
