One thing that really caught my ear was how differently the 2 of you approached playing rhythm guitar. You played the backing chords with a very chunky, percussive style, and Jimmy alternating between strummed chords and walking bass lines. It's like the song takes on a different dynamic when the 2 of you switch between rhythm and lead.
Absolutely wonderful rendition by Frank and Jimmy. Two great jazz guitarists. It doesn’t get any better than this. What a treat to see this today. Thanks for the video guys.
Love this. I was 14 years old in 1964 when I became aware of this song. It was on a Jimmy Smith album; "Organ Grinders Swing", with Grady Tate and Kenny Burrell. That whole record cooks!
So this master class guitar duet just popped up again. What great playing from a pair of modern day aces! Tempo, tone and touch is stellar. Thanks Jimmy & Frank
Outstanding. Really outstanding. How can this not put a smile on your face? My face was a bit sore from smiling for four and a half minutes straight. Just terrific. Master class in LISTENING to the other player(s) - dynamic interplay was near constant if not telepathic. Also master class in time keeping - Frank's time is so solid that it makes it impossible for Jimmy not to swing. The one down vote was from someone with perfect ears. (No holes.)
Out-freakin'-standing. That's just fantastic. I loved it. I was able to play my bass behind it and not interfere with another player. I've got to get one of those CDs no matter what. Watching both of these players and seeing what they do is a whole series of good lessons. Thanks to both of you.
....ma che bravi!!! .......che musica, che poesia, che spettacolo ragazzi! c.castellano, italia .......ut what a good !!! ....... what music, what poetry, what a show guys !! c.castellano, italia
very good interpretation, fresh, clear and with all the meaning of the musical theme without getting lost in other stories .. Thank you very much for your music
wow...i would like to thank you for your courses on true fire....chord melody...went thru that course and now i've built a song list of 15 songs from sheet music..using my chord vocabulary.. during covid lockdown....hope to expand on it
Great performance. It seems to me Jimmy is at an age (like myself) when it’s all about having the most fun and don’t giving a f.... anymore. Frank, whom I greatly admire, will eventually get there. Love you guys.
I think Frank Vignola is one of the more laid-back, fun loving, not giving an f guys out on the scene today. Not sure what your comment is saying. That Jimmy is somehow better than Frank at having fun? I think this may be something in your imagination rather than the reality!

Gotta love Jimmy's look of satisfaction as they ended the tune. So nice.

Two of my favourite guitarists.....what a treat !
Just great.
I feel lucky to have met both of them, just not at the same time.
Ditto! And both of them were kind and generous with their time when I met them.
This is just how I love it. Playing a beautiful, classic melody without unnecessary noodling mixed in. Bravo!
Nothing wrong with ppl advancing the form. In fact, if ppl had taken your advice this wouldnt exist!
Truth!
Damn, bebop language spoken by two fluent speakers. Don't get no better than this!
Wooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooowwww! the beauty itself

Two masters! Jimmy has been one of my heroes for quite some time!
Did Bruno get sick? Because his transformation from No Nonsense Jazz Guitar to nowadays is astonishing. And, to me, is not about getting old
Holy 🐄 my mouth dropped. Amazing. Reminds me of the dozens of times I heard the late great Lenny Bureau in Toronto at the Riverboat and George's.
