Lacey , you do all us women PROUD drivin that equipment!!! You go girl. I love seein you all work on your yurt. God loves you all. May God continue to bless you all.
"Who can find a capable wife? Her value is far more than that of corals." (Prov 31:10) Well Mr Mike, I believe you just found yourself a mighty capable wife. May God bless you with many more years of love and happiness.
Time to think of a covered porch so you can relax outside when it's cool in the evening. How about a wrap around porch ...grow the roses up the supports. Just a thought. would double your usable space.
This ole' girl wants to learn to drive a skid steerer and back trailers. Lacie ROCKS the big stuff! Love the siding with the skirting and the white windows. Looks so nice!
When i was young, my stepdad at that time had his own construction biz. I learned a LOT! By the time i was 13 i was driving his dump trucks. We had 40 acres of woods to play in. We had forts all over! Lol
oh yes, growing up on 103 acres homestead, building forts, riding horses, herding cattle, swimming & fishing in the creek. Hunting in the woods, getting sand & gravel to make cement to build the new garage. Building the horse barn. And the dog house. Working in the gardens, or picking fruit in the orchard, or berry picking by the creek banks. Treeforts. blanket forts over the kitchen table when it was raining. baking cakes & cookies on the wood cook stove. grilling outside on the "campfire".
Your Yurt home is gorgeous ! I'd be glad to live in such a lovely place surrounded by a beautiful garden and food security ! Your family has built an oasis . Amazing !
Your little yurt is becoming a little house! It is looking great. Your homestead shows how much work you put into it, It is a piece of heaven on earth. God bless..
Mike you are so funny ! I love your laugher. That look so much better. I didn’t even notice the little light pole until you put that on your house. We have lived in our house for 34 years. I can’t believe that 😜. The windows really make it more like a home. So glad you have Evan to help you . Now my husband is a builder, a carpenter , plumber, electrician God has really blessed his hands that what i tell him all the time 😊. 👍
My husband made the mistake of teaching me how to use a scroll saw and I haven't stopped working with wood since. I even installed 800 sq feet of hardwood flooring by myself. Right now i'm installing board and batten wainscoting in my dining/family room.
I love your house and homestead. You guys are amazing. You remind me so much of my dad and favorite uncle. There was nothing those guys couldn't do and that's how you guys are. You work out solutions to your problems for yourselves. Recycle and reuse. Nothing goes to waste. God Bless and Keep you.
the yurt looks beautiful..it already was a home, now it's just prettier..that Evan is a special young man, so glad he's a part of your life and some videos..your progress is so rewarding to watch..be safe you all..love ya.
When I was a kid we always lived where we had wooden land around us and I would always go exploring in the woods. My grandma lived on a farm that had this big cow barn and I would go into the loaf and climb up the beams. There were always pigeon's in her barn and I would climb up the beams to see the babies.
I'm happy for you guys! You're doing a great job on the yurt. Your friend is definitely a blessing. Maybe when when growing season is over you can start on a beautiful deck. You would have so much more outdoor living space!
Whoohoo! Working on that upgrade 💚And Lacie...I love learning to work different machinery..you never know when you might need to use them..I stayed by my Dad and Uncle's side helping them build their houses and paint when it was time for a makeover...and loved it..it made me who I am today💚🌱💚
As a kid I love horses, anything from mucking out, stacking straw and hay, sweeping the yard, cleaning tack, grooming, exercising all of it, Id leave home at 5.30am and not get home till 9pm exhausted but oh so happy
I'm so happy for you guys to see your dreams come true. Little Micah was working hard🎈 Lacey with that girl power. Keep living your Dream. Congratulations.
Building a home is so much more than the materials and knowing how to use a saw. The building is important and it is looking great but the home is amazing. The time spent together as a family Learnings new things and teaching the children. Spending time working together and eating together. This is homemaking. That is why I love the videos. When I was a kid I was always cooking from mud pies to my easy bake oven. I still love cooking and get so happy when people sit down to eat. My biggest dream was to be a mom and I fulfilled that dream.
Dang girl, you’ve got skills!!” I was nervous about the wires over head🥴 I’m a” young” 71 and when I grow up I want to be you lol I’m excited the Reno continues🥰👍🏻
Lol at work my grandpaw would always tell us when he grows up he doesn't want to do this job. That was him saying it at 65. I guess now at 75 he grew up finally 🤣
Mike you are a fortunate man to have an awesome lady as Lacy!! She is boss to get in just about any machine an get busy!! You go girl!! you guys are a great power couple!!
in the summer time, when I was little, we used to go pick strawberries, and cucumbers, about an hour from where we lived, and my mom and grandma would spend whole weekends, preserving stuff....and on other occasions, we would go camping, and on the way home, would pick apples, cherries, and peaches to do the same in the coming weeks after. such wonderful memories
So exciting seeing the siding going up. To see the joy on your face is priceless! 💗 The house looks amazing, thank you guys so much for sharing your life with us!
The siding looks awesome! My dad use to work for Foretravel rv building the RVs. When my brother and I were young, he would bring home stacks of lumber that he had gotten from work for cheap. We would make forts out of the lumber even if he didn't want us to. We stacked them like log cabin style so we could take it down and redesign. I think he was impressed with how well they came out he stopped telling us to put the boards back.
LOVE what you’re doing! You two were so blessed to find each other. Yurt dwellers need to see videos showing what was done to the yurt frame, insulation & cover, to allow attaching all that to the outside? What had to be changed, beefed-up, etc.? Why put (tarpaper?) under the rain-wrap? Will there be rain-shedding from around windows & doors, to prevent rain going between the window frames & siding? And Omg! I was the weird kid who was always making, building, & problem solving projects! I had very detailed, specific plans to build a self-sufficient underground house, when I was around 9. Was fixing bikes (and cars) in the driveway as a teen (to the utter consternation of budding neighborhood misogynists), & figuring out some really good Rube Goldbergian solutions to fixing & improving just about everywhere we lived (mostly rentals)....so, had to do it in ways that didn’t mess with changing structure or breaking rules (well...not too many not very important ones...). I was the 12 yr.old kid who got proactive and hand-dug a “pool” for the kids, on the hottest day of one summer...about 8’x10’x2’, in a few hours (motivation!)...it was a mud hole, but the kids loved it....thankfully, water wasn’t scarce or too costly, back then. No idea what happened to that later...pretty sure mom never filled it in when the family stopped renting to moved across the street. And forts?! Plenty! Always creative recycled materials us kids scavenged & dragged home. From tying the tops of long grasses together to form “rooms”, to super-heavy duty cardboard shipping boxes, pallets, buckets of dirt stacked & pinned, holes in ground with branches across top to make roof (and figuring out how to make it not leak), dead-fall trees turned into lean-to’s, or interlaced to start making wattle-&-daub buildings, even using wattles laced around living trees to form structure. Igloos, floating pallets on sealed empty milk jugs & bottles, etc. it was fun, it taught problem solving, it gave survival skills. Wish I’d met Mike Reynolds, as a kid....because I was also playing with tires to build, when he was working towards figuring out his earthship structures. He got trained as an engineer; I was blocked from taking that path. That’s how it was, even in the early 1970’s...girls were discouraged, & sometimes actively blocked, from entering “male” career paths. Girls in the 1960’s were blocked from taking shop classes, & mandated to take home ec. In the 1980’s, a single mom getting into an apprenticeship program to be a plumber or electrician, was a gutsy, socially shocking, uphill battle, but starting to happen. Gals Can have serious skills, and far more potential to do amazing things than our society STILL allows or recognizes...but at least the days of blocking gals getting into “male” career paths, is rare, now. Thank you for sharing your adventures!
Lacie, there are so many things I could say about how awesome you are! You truly need to know how extremely beautiful you are ... not only inside but also on the outside; your smile is infectious! You are extremely smart, beautiful, loving, giving, caring, forgiving, and INSPIRING! Girl, keep doing you because you are GORGEOUS!!!!
Your home looks so nice. I never miss a vidio and I have watched for a long tine. It is so nice to see all the all the changes and progress you have made on your home stead. The children are just amazing. So happy for all of you.
My big brothers and I dug forts and built tree platforms. Played all over the woods and wetlands. I had a baby coon for a spring summer, she was so much fun.
I'm glad to see that y'all are doin well and getting something done to your home. This not only makes your home look better but this siding will help on the cooling. Looking fantastic. Selah, watch out for the chickens. Have a wonderful week. Have fun. 👍🖖🌹🎈☕☕
Was the family's Mr. Fix it.... We built it all, forts, box scooters, go carts. I was so good my father made me is official dog house builder. Became a licensed contractor and now I'm the maintenance superintendent of a two buildings 100+ apartments co-op corporation. In my 60s and still love buying new tools. :) I guess because everyday is never the same, it just doesn't get old. :)
Lacy "The Heavy Equipment Girl". You are amazing! Even One-Handed! Anything you can't do? I had a place where many huge rocks had been deposited (maybe by nature more likely by builders) and there were several trees which we could climb. A group of us neighborhood kids hung out there. It was the highest point in the neighborhood on the edge near a railroad track, which we also loved to walk along looking for interesting things. After I had a heat stroke one summer I didn't enjoy the outdoors much.
Hubs and I watch every show. One of the takeaways that mean so very much to me is the kindness and respect given to every family member in your journey. Too many yell at the kids and spouses and while I know you realize you are on camera, it seems to be your style. Thank you for that. I love the siding and always wanted a yurt and folks laughed at me at work for wanting one. I ended up with my husband and three dogs and a cat in a 16 by 20 cabin (one room and a bath) on 13 acres, most wooded. I am gardening first time here, just moved here last August. We have a 12 by 10 greenhouse going up but I am terracing on a hill and have over 20 spaces planted so far with many starters in cups. I should mention I held an office job for years and am in my sixties and two time cancer survivor. I never gardened on a hill before. I am learning it is important to leave some natural grasses to hold it in place until I plant something else. I dig up rocks and toss them in a bucket and carry up the hill and toss around the cabin edging and at end of the day, a soaking bath in a kiddie pool. We are off grid and do not have water running in the cabin yet. So we draw from the well and bathe outside. The first month I had a bear visit our yard as I was in the pool but dogs chased it off. I look forward to seeing what we can do with this place. It won't be a market garden, we are retired, but our own brand of self sustainability and honestly the happiest life and I am more FIT and HEALTHY than I have ever been. I am so happy for the work you and your family are doing. I wish I had when my sons were young but I didn't so I just have to let that go and enjoy today. Everyone can do something to enjoy simplicity. I have a family member who has potted tomatoes and basil only but lies on a hammock on the patio and admires she has pasta sauce growing beside her resting spot. God bless you as He has surely blessed me, juanita mae
The siding looks AMAZING!! I'm so excited for you and your family...also, the song that you played at the end I know you have added to other vlogs, but it's so sweet. Be blessed!
I’m 64 years old and grew up with 6 brothers and 3 sisters-two of my sisters and a couple of my brothers was quite a bit older and beyond being interested in playing , but the rest of us had a ball!! I guess I really had the best of both worlds. My sister and I played dolls, house, and made mud pies, until we grew tired of that, then we’d go find the boys and play-you guessed it-cowboys and Indians. Then we’d all move on to games of catch, jump rope, hopscotch and so many more fun activities. Needless to say our days were full and we slept very well!! Of course, all that fun came after our chores were done!! Our childhood was great!! We had no money and I realized later in life, we barely scraped, but life was great and I’d do it all over in a snap!😊
Nice!!!!! Coming together. As a kid I was a woods runner. Played in the woods....when I could. Like your children I had plenty to do. So yeah..... Great job as usual. Stay safe. Grow on
Admire you so much Lacie for being able to operate heavy machinery Between you and Mike, you are a great husband and wife team I liked to build tree houses growing up,"farm" crops between exposed tree roots, make mud pies and cakes ( with eggs), make ice ramps in the winter to ride my sled over, dress my cats up in doll dresses and bonnets and put in my big doll buggy to wheel them around the yard, ride my horse, swim in the ponds, hunt for arrowheads in the creeks, etc
Tinker Toys & Lincoln Logs! Made my sisters dolls houses out of cardboard boxes & sewed them clothes. Didnt like dolls myself. made tents over clothes line! I definitely made homes & took care of others
Ya'll! That looks so great! I am so excited for you. It looks beautifully rustic. I bet it will make it so much more insulated. I have to chuckle whenever you guys mention conspiracy theories and stuff. I would love to hear more about those because I bet a lot of people would agree with you. I wanted to tell Lacie that I pruned my cherry tomatoes the way she instructed a few weeks ago and they have gone crazy! Of all the years I grew tomatoes I never knew about pruning them more than picking the suckers off. Thank you for that and thanks for taking us along on your homesteading journey.
Your "new" house looks fantastic - love the pattern....I also played in the woods-didn't build forts but I did build dams and changed the course of rivers :)
Lacie you are the Boss! The new siding looks fantastic. Can’t wait to hear the impact it has on yurt living. No doubt thermal changes, insulation and better wind protection. The external lamp is wonderful. Guess you finish the siding to protect the under flooring too.
I enjoyed watching you exert woman power on the equipment. I try to do more but sometimes it feels like my husband thinks we can’t handle big machinery even though he drives trucks and see women driving big rigs also. Keep making it look easy and showing yes we can.
Truly lookin like a house guys. Don't worry about it lookin like a real house to others. If it was built from used pallets, your families love and smiles would make it a home.💕💕💕💕💕. Gotta love a women who cooks, cleans and can handle a Lull like a BOSS. God Bless.
Love the siding!! Now paint that door-red, maybe? Cool that Lacey has heavy equipment and mechanical skills! You guys are lucky to have access to all those machines.
Played outside a lot. Our Aunt taught is all about flower gardening. My dad taught is about veggie gardening. He could hoe weeds effortless. He spent much of his youth hoeing crop field rows.
I think the yurt looks great! I'm so happy for you guys. We have an escapee chicken too! We watch her to see if we can figure out where she is getting out and fix it and then she seems to find a new place! Take care guys!
We raised rabbits (live or dressed), pigs, chickens, horses. Then the real work growing up working on a shrimp boat. wonderful to see you on the fork lift moving the siding. I used to mow fields with a tractor w/brush hog as a kid. As an adult driving 18 wheeler.
I'm right there with ya. I was raised outside and taught to work hard. I love building and working the machines. Your homestead is looking amazing im so happy for you guys. Wishing you all well
Just picked up Some Dual purpose chickens from the post office today🎉When I went in I said..."Winner Winner Chicken Dinner!"...Lady behind the desk was like 😱 lol...Yurt Looking 👍..Not alot of building as kids for us..Climbing big Ol Oak trees and playing in creeks....Great Memories.
Hey, Lacey:
You are my hero for being fearless in handling machinery and for teaching Selah to do similarly.
You are all so loved by all of us fans.
Thank you!!
You go girl driving that machine like a boss 👍home is looking great 😁💖
You go girl!!!!! I love how the yurt is turning out. You guys are doing a great job.
Comment number two:
It is SO PRETTY. "I want to know who lives there"!!
And that lamp pole looks like a lovely welcoming to your Homestead.
Thank you for sharing your real journey with us... the ups and downs which
we need to see in these real times.
No fairy tales in real life.
HUGS to each of you as you press on.
2:33 "Lacey has skills with this thing"... 👍You've got that right! A true partner in the endeavor... 🥰
She worked for her dad. That's his construction equipment. It was mentioned on another video.

Evan really added to the video. You can see he's really joyful and kind hearted. The type of guy that people likes to be around, he's very uplifting.
Go head Lacie, you know you got the skills, Peace
This ole' girl wants to learn to drive a skid steerer and back trailers. Lacie ROCKS the big stuff! Love the siding with the skirting and the white windows. Looks so nice!
Hats off to Lacie driving that loader with such skill. You are making awesome progress on the yurt and homestead.
Wow Lacey, you are a bad ass. That is so awesome that you can handle heavy machinery like that. All I can say is wow!!!
Your littlest would be great for tv commercials. With his personality and his cuteness, he would be great
What a good thought “Progress not perfection.” Another thought I enjoy is “Done is better than perfect.” You two are an inspiration.
SHE LOOKS SO GOOD BEHIND THAT MACHINE , YOU GO GIRL

Everything about this video is beautiful, your home, your family, your farm and your friendship

FYI, it's always been beautiful and I would love to meet the people that live there someday. I love it when people have the courage to be different.

That is so awesome!! Thank you for sharing your memories with us!
Practice makes improvement and progess is preferred over perfection. You all are making the path by walking it. Blessings Abound!
Nice!!!!! Coming together. As a kid I was a woods runner. Played in the woods....when I could. Like your children I had plenty to do. So yeah..... Great job as usual. Stay safe. Grow on
Admire you so much Lacie for being able to operate heavy machinery
Between you and Mike, you are a great husband and wife team
I liked to build tree houses growing up,"farm" crops between exposed tree roots, make mud pies and cakes ( with eggs), make ice ramps in the winter to ride my sled over, dress my cats up in doll dresses and bonnets and put in my big doll buggy to wheel them around the yard, ride my horse, swim in the ponds, hunt for arrowheads in the creeks, etc
Lacey Kicks Butt Driving All This Heavy Machinery!😝👍🏻😜She's AWESOME😁
Much❤Love & God Bless 🙏🏻😇🙏🏻Ya'll 🤗😘👍🏻👍🏻
The renovations are coming along nicely. Love the wood siding on the exterior of the yurt. Looking forward to the seeing it all done.
Tinker Toys & Lincoln Logs! Made my sisters dolls houses out of cardboard boxes & sewed them clothes. Didnt like dolls myself. made tents over clothes line! I definitely made homes & took care of others
Fun to see your pleasure! Nice to have Evan helping. Looks great!
Wow😍😍😍😍 the yurt is looking really good
Happy for each of you! Your joy is so beautiful to watch.
Your "new" house looks fantastic - love the pattern....I also played in the woods-didn't build forts but I did build dams and changed the course of rivers :)
Much respect for Lacie for her operator skills on that LULL , I used to run one on U.S. Navy ships years ago
Nice progress. That looks very nice. So, excited and happy for you. Nothing like progress on something you've waited a long time for.
Laci, oh I was very excited to see the first panels on your Yurt! Happy days! Thank you for sharing ❤️👍👍
God bless your little family!!! You are fun to watch and doing well.
The poor raccoon! That siding looks awesome. Congrats.
I know where the racoon went . Hawk flying overhead decided to have roasted meat for a change ! without BB sauce of course !
Awesome job ya'll! I grew up climbing trees and such. Started roofing at 12 years old. Became a certified contractor later. Still love being outside.
Momma is such a capable girl! Siding looks great and no bears or raccoons can get in!!!
We raised rabbits (live or dressed), pigs, chickens, horses. Then the real work growing up working on a shrimp boat. wonderful to see you on the fork lift moving the siding. I used to mow fields with a tractor w/brush hog as a kid. As an adult driving 18 wheeler.
Loving all the upgrades, windows and now siding, looking good...can't wait to see you guys adding a porch. 😊
A lady of many talents! The yurt looks great!
I'm really liking the way your yert is turning out. It's definitely going be warmer in the winter and coolin the summertime
My 2 brother and I would build a club house every summer in a little grove of trees in our field. We were outside all the time, till it got dark.
Lacey, you are a woman of so many talents! Loved seeing your excitement talking about the home being sided. You made me smile!
Lacey, you are the bomb diggety on that tractor/forklift/machine!
Am glad you all finally got to the Job.So much is going well for you guys, do wish you the very best.
Way to go Laci!!!!! You are a Wonder Woman 👍 Love all your progress 🥰
I'm right there with ya. I was raised outside and taught to work hard. I love building and working the machines. Your homestead is looking amazing im so happy for you guys. Wishing you all well
