I only heard about this game a week or two ago and decided to played about 15 minutes of the little prologue/demo that came out on Playstation. The art-style and music definitely grabbed my attention. It’s sad that the story didn’t pay off for you in the end and some of the gameplay choices (like the mini games) didn’t stick the landing. Would you recommend this as a week 1 buy, or a wait for a sale kinda game?
i saw this game on one of the showcases this past week and it definitely caught my attention. sounds like it has some rough patches to work out tho. thanks for the review!
Played the demo for this and was instantly hooked. Bought it yesterday, gonna start playing later today. I'm really excited. Some little bugs here and there usually don't bother me too much and I like open endings as well. This game feels like it was made for me.
4:39 I feel like docking the game for not holding your views is really dishonest. Also I’ll leave it at this. The American system has problems, mainly price. However, all systems are expensive (those who aren’t American pay it with their taxes), breast cancer run my family, the reason I still have my mother is because unlike most medical systems, you can get treatment quickly as opposed to waiting 6 months like other countries.
Couple things. 1) The game was made by a German studio, I never said it was the American healthcare system 2) I didn't say the game didn't agree with my positions, what I said was that the game is explicitly being billed as a harsh look at the problems of the healthcare system and it didn't go far enough with it
Interesting. Mini-games are such make or irritate-break on games like this. Make it too simple, and you have the player asking themself "why did they even put it here," make it too dificult and the player will ask themself the same thing... But execute it poorly, and the player's whole experience will go south pretty quick. Learned that lesson with Deponia. Ughh...
I feel like most of the minigames were done reasonabley well, I think the main one that's finicky in a bad way is the Medical scan one, I could never for the life of me get above a B on that one. I think the one where you have to press and hold all the buttons actually plays into the idea of working in health-care difficult and the notion of having to manage all these things. While the medication and diagnosis one's really aren't that bad
I will say the mini game where you have press and hold the buttons is really annoying bugged on Xbox, right trigger is registered as right bumper and holding it down doesn't complete the set so you can't get above a C if the right trigger prompt pops up. Which overall is probably my main complaint about the game, there were a lot of bugs
I completely agree... I love the art, characters and soundtrack. However, most of the mini games were horrible and the pacing of this game made was horrible and it became very tedious.
Interesting they are doing something similar with the ending as they did with Night in the Woods, I felt the ending there came out of nowhere as well even though I liked the game.
That doesn't really make sense for health-care. I mean Finley had to go through med school/health science to even make it to his position as a junior doctor where 'just schowing up' definitely doesn't get you a passing grade. Plus it's made a point in the game that Dr. Krowoski does not accept failure hence why she's so critical anytime you spend your work hours helping other staff members that arnt doctors with their problems
I played the demo on Switch and found its conversations were long and uninteresting and I near enough broke my hand on the contortion that was the bandaging mini game. Also that random fight mini game. Although the setting was nice the demo turned me off.
Same. I couldn't make it through the demo because it felt so lackluster to me. I couldn't put the controller down during Night in the Woods. I couldn't make it through an hour of this game, sadly.

Wait for a sale.

This game reminds me of Night in the woods .. looks really fun from what I saw 🙂 ..
I get that benign reference lol. Scrubs was my jam😂

Scrubs and Night in the Woods are obvious comparisons, I'd say this game has even more in common with the book by Arthur Haley "Final Diagnosis".
Do a full let's play
Hmm
Or go with me here...what if its all saying that nothing really matters. Just showing up will get you a passing grade.

Yeah. Super boring.
besix and a half.
Sounds like this isn't for me then
I was so disappointed by this game.
💞 "Promo sm"
When you can't say "homeless" and have to say "unhoused" instead...! LMAO!!! Soy levels are maxxed, T levels minimized... ready to game!
