I had it out for about 20 minutes prior before leaving the brake on. At that time I popped the hood and checked on things, it was running pretty great.

Having recently binged most of his videos, the thing that is amazing to me, besides of course the knowledge and skill in auto repair, or amazing cinematography, is that he doesn’t freak out and swear when stuff goes wrong. I’ve worked on cars and other stuff for years and when you make a mistake that wastes time, or stuff you buy doesn’t fit, or fails, it’s aggravating. Maybe he’s just really conscious of being on camera, but that is so hard! I am so emotionally invested in my car repair stuff because it’s generally fixing up old cars that family will drive, I can’t help but get emotionally angry. So I have the utmost respect for this guy. Even when his project caught on fire! “I just gotta let it go…” AND he was out on the ice?! Call him Elsa Fordman! You need a Merch shop with a tee that says Let It Go, with a arctic cat on fire
Awesome videography, so sorry about the snowmobile man, that sucks. Quick comment from a dude your age that learned the hard way cause I work on my projects alone as well; just be careful lifting and moving stuff man don’t hurt your back or something. Know it sounds basic it did to me too until one haste-fueled mistake! But you work very methodically anyways man love the channel, every vid has my full attention and you never have to speak a word!
Thank you. Yea, I was starting to feel it in my back with all the pull starting, dragging the thing around, and lifting the engine. I do need to be more careful.
As a 17 year old, turning 18 in no time at all, I find myself diving into these kinds of videos over this past week. I've always had a love for car restoration shows, so this content tends to be very enjoyable, even Moreso after discovering your channel just now! My big dream is to get some kind of project car going. I've never worked on cars but I've found I can't stand just sitting around anymore. Even for things that never worked out, I realized I loved putting some tunes on and trying to figure out what went wrong and how to fix it. Like when I found a clapped out lawnmower that had sat for a few years. I never got it running because I didn't have tools, but I loved looking up diagrams and videos on what could've been wrong with it. There was no greater feeling than understanding something that felt so complex and just getting it. I enjoyed looking up prices on home depot and brainstorming on potential solutions. Frankly, I'm jealous how you have seemingly endless cars to work on. I myself, hope that some day I can be that old man with a garage/workshop filled to the brim with tools and projects. As of now, the car that I have my eyes on is a dodge dart, whether it's 4 door, 2 door, slant six, or v8 I don't care! I just want something to call my own, and love. Sadly this remains a dream, as I don't have anything going for me in the way of money. How do you get into something like this? I look online, and any decent enough car is a minimum couple grand, yet you have an almost endless supply of cars. Have you turned it into a business?
I saw you blocked the overflow pipes on the bottom of the carburetors they should have long pipes going away from the engine to the outside then if a float sticks it doesn't put fual in the airbox and set fire just goes out the overflow and you smell it before it sets on fire hopefully i love your videos also sorry you lost your snowmobile
Well that was just the best viewing. Brilliant to watch the way you work, methodical and knowledgeable. I must say, setting fire to it clear away mouse nests was a bit over the top😊. Main thing is that you're OK. Also, that 2 stroke sound, it took me back to my old dads Wartburg Knight from the 70's ❤. Wonderful. Thanks for a great 90 mins, didn't stop smiling, awesome!
I live in the lower mid-Atlantic states and snow is rare, so I know nothing about snowmobiles. But this whole video was fascinating! Very impressive work. The last 10 minutes were beyond sad. So glad you’re OK and back home safely!

So much love and care went into this machine. Sometimes we question ourselves and our capabilities. From experience I can tell you I too caught my rig on fire once but was lucky enough to have access to a fire extinguisher. You have balls for not only fixing the Cat but posting the video. Look at it this way, If you ever have kids, the first thing you will tell them when riding a ski is don't forget to release the brake! Life lesson for sure. Great video, painful loss of a nice machine. Look forward to what your next plan is!
I am so jealous, how deeply you can dive in for what you are doing. I am impressed how many different projects you have and love the way of your video editing. It is so relaxing to watch 🙃 and most important -you make me think what I would make differently in same situation. Well the end of snowmobile is very sad, but most important, you are safe. So we can hopefully enjoy your next projects 😊
I'm impressed by the weather in your country, I also thank you for putting the temperature in Celsius, I can't even imagine what it feels like at -19. As always, I'm enjoying your video from start to finish.... I think they're hypnotic, good health.
We all make mistakes, hard to catch everything all the time. Good experience putting it together and getting some fun on the snow and ice, looking forward to seeing the continuation of the story. Keep up the great work Simon
Wow! What a video! I know I can only echo what everyone else has said “These Things Happen” (to almost everyone whoever put a hand to a wrench and over torqued a bolt/stud/nut, etc… ). Forgive me, but out of the “Ashes” comes knowledge, more experience, wisdom you pay for, but can’t be purchased with money directly. What you take away from this very much human error, is perspective on every job you ever do or attempt. Will something like this ever happen again? My money is not very damn likely! 👍😎. Sometimes we pay to learn in cash, sometimes in time & effort, sometimes in flesh & blood. Thank God none of the last items. You are so talented, hard working, your videos are just so good. Thank you for sharing this with us, your viewers. Everyone says it, you are not alone in these things, we’ve all had things like this go off the rails. It happens, you learn huge amounts of perspective, you mentally kick yourself a couple of times, and get back up, and keep moving forward 😎😇👍. Thanks again for your great videos.
Two stroke snowmobiles… I could only dream of such fun. Thank you for sharing this and great work as usual! A bit of advice with spark plugs from experience. I daily a two stroke car and used to clean sparks with a wire brush. They don’t like that, after a couple of heat cycles they gave up. I just don’t clean them anymore. You can spay them with some strong carb cleaner to get the grime off. In any case, I hope you can find a good sled. Keep it up!
Glad YOU are ok Simon! When I saw the title and operative "owned" I had that pit in my stomach for you. When the fire hit I thought (sorry but I can't help myself) "Oh the Humanity". Kidding aside, really can't wait to see the next sled and/or where that motor finds it's home. AND thanks for the more recent content - I for one look forward to your feature length videos, each one gets better than the previous, keep up the fantastic work on all fronts :)
Heck yeah 👍 had a rough day and come home to a fun surprise. Thanks for posting brother I hope this build is a success and not like the Camaro last week poor Camaro I wish we could have saved it. Peace Simon thanks for posting.

Look at it this way, If you ever have kids, the first thing you will tell them when riding a ski is don't forget to release the brake! Life lesson for sure. Great video, painful loss of a nice machine. Look forward to what your next plan is!
25:42 bro really evicted the owner
I am so jealous, how deeply you can dive in for what you are doing. I am impressed how many different projects you have and love the way of your video editing. It is so relaxing to watch 🙃 and most important -you make me think what I would make differently in same situation. Well the end of snowmobile is very sad, but most important, you are safe. So we can hopefully enjoy your next projects 😊

Damn. Sorry your experience was amplified by your inexperience but you did good work. Glad you're ok. It happens from time to time to the best of us.
FUUUUUDGE!! Sorry to see it go that way, bro. Your channel is one of my favorite. Keep up the great work!
Not going to lie, I wouldn't be surprised if the fire itself was caused by no clamps on any of fuel lines. I'm not sure why you wouldn't put any
I'm impressed by the weather in your country, I also thank you for putting the temperature in Celsius, I can't even imagine what it feels like at -19. As always, I'm enjoying your video from start to finish.... I think they're hypnotic, good health.
Because of you I now have a 1967 motorcycle in my garage that I paid 400$ with its engine torn down and a whole bunch of new parts. I love it!
Nice! Sounds like a great time
We all make mistakes, hard to catch everything all the time. Good experience putting it together and getting some fun on the snow and ice, looking forward to seeing the continuation of the story.
Keep up the great work Simon
💪😎👍👍👍❄️❄️❄️❄️🧊🧊🧊🧊👋👋hello is Siberia ❤ good luck my friend 🙏
You have no idea how I like your videos.
Even the sad ones... but you cant give up.
Keep it up!
OMG yes, time for another cinematic masterpiece from Mr Fordman!!! lemme get my popcorn
Sizin gibi videolar çekmeye çalışan bircok kisi olmasina ragmen baska birini izleyemiyorum.Tesekkurler.
Video bitmeden yorum yazmışım.Çok geçmiş olsun.üzüldüm.
Wow, what a story, you have unreal patience. Can't believe, not much left.
Heck yeah 👍 had a rough day and come home to a fun surprise. Thanks for posting brother I hope this build is a success and not like the Camaro last week poor Camaro I wish we could have saved it. Peace Simon thanks for posting.
Great job again. Sorry about the fire. Just had to put it away a bit earlier than expected.
The starter seemed so hard to pull.
Love your style.
