I play alto, tenor and occasionally a flat soprano but out of all of them i LOVE the tenor its sound is rich and is brilliant for Improvisation :D. You can tell the guy on tenor has experience
Yeah it is a bass sax. If you notice, the tubing for the sax goes below where the neck and mouthpiece are. On a Bari, where the neck and mouthpiece come would be the extent of the legnth of tubing. This gives the bass sax a lower sound. Hope this helps!
im play tenor sax and that was amazing i suppose to be coming to disney world in summer when i come im gonna look for the guy that played tenor to learn the notes
@drumstyx6464 its because for jazz songs, seventh chords are primarily used instead of triads. :P and youre completely right it really does fill up the chord which is how saxophone quartets are so awesome haha
@drumstyx6464 emeemm! the sound you are hearing is actually the tenor saxophone. wich is amazing because usually the tenor doesnt get the lead. it is pree amazing that they have these people at disney land... ive never been there before, but it is any persons dream.
the bass and soprano REALLY fill out the ensemble, if it was another alto and another tenor instead, it just wouldn't have the same feel. i think it's cause the soprano sort of emulates a clarinet
@SangoandHoushiSama....... I know your post is 3 years old, but if you're still having neck problems with the bari..... have you ever tried a snare sling? The strap is much wider and distributes the weight better. Years ago, the drum instructor for my HS marching band tossed me one and said "try this instead". Never bothered my neck again. Wish I had it when I played bass sax (that thing hurt).
Sorry xomisfit...... drumstyx6464 is correct. Watch some of the other videos. The discussions going back and forth are saying it's a soprano. Also, there is at least one video where the guys playing SAY it's a soprano. :)
Workman's comp for that poor bass player. Walking around for hours in the hot glaring sun with that ton of brass pulling on his neck and back. Chiropractor needed! Maybe the soprano player will trade off with him once in a while.
@@RFDSAX Hey man cool thing that your dad plays in this group, do you know if this is still an ongoing thing at Disney or if it has stopped. This vids got me into playing the saxophone and I would love to travel out and see them in person. Thanks!
@@RFDSAX Damn that sucks, also just checked out some of your vids and you're killin man! Hope everything works out for you! Thanks so much for the reply and have a good one!
I had the bari player as a clinician when i went down to disney with my high school band, awesome guy
the bass sax player is my sax professor !!!!
I play alto, tenor and occasionally a flat soprano but out of all of them i LOVE the tenor its sound is rich and is brilliant for Improvisation :D. You can tell the guy on tenor has experience
that tenor sax player can really play - Shows love in his playing- I would give anything to play in a group like this - bass sax!

Incredible... I can't stop smiling.

@drumstyx6464 its because for jazz songs, seventh chords are primarily used instead of triads. :P and youre completely right it really does fill up the chord which is how saxophone quartets are so awesome haha

I was there 2 weeks ago and I couldn't find them ANYWHERE :( :( :( :(
LOL at the leg thing :)
Probably tired after lugging the thing around all day. But I feel more sorry for the guy playing contra, I had not known they existed until today.
the bass and soprano REALLY fill out the ensemble, if it was another alto and another tenor instead, it just wouldn't have the same feel. i think it's cause the soprano sort of emulates a clarinet
I love jazz. We steal ideas from eachother to create more jazz! *awesome tenor stuff stolen for solo ideas! :D
@silversaxophone yeah lmao, that's what I had in mind next time I go
@12stuart23 wow, i need to pay closer attention...
@SangoandHoushiSama....... I know your post is 3 years old, but if you're still having neck problems with the bari..... have you ever tried a snare sling? @sweetmon0 I was being serious.
Right, I didn't realize I wrote contra till after I posted the comment. My bad.
@akjgo1994 its a bass
OMG! The mini sax looks so cute! Does it sound like s oprano or sopranosimo (typo).
@redbelt12 that's what you do @ Disney... pay, and pay, and pay!
@drumstyx6464 agreed
Jasper and Horace disliked this.
I would love this sheet music...anyone know where to get it?
Sorry xomisfit...... drumstyx6464 is correct. Watch some of the other videos. The discussions going back and forth are saying it's a soprano. Also, there is at least one video where the guys playing SAY it's a soprano. :)
That's a bass saxaphone.
Contrabass sax basically needs a stands because it's about 6 1/2 feet tall...and weighs 50ish lbs.
Close though. :]
i wonder how long they have benn playing there instruments?
I think there are for the most part, but maybe the Bari was sick/tired etc.
is this really a bass saxophone it has the size as a baritone
Yeah, especially since they walk around and stuff....Even my bari hurts my neck since my strap is mediocre-
You'd need an actual harness-
Sopranino* :)
OOhh that is too bad the Bass sax guy got a newer Bass. It is so wimpy sounding compared to his older one. Still they sound as great as usual.
Men play the soprano.
Go tenor and soprano!..
Workman's comp for that poor bass player. Walking around for hours in the hot glaring sun with that ton of brass pulling on his neck and back. Chiropractor needed! Maybe the soprano player will trade off with him once in a while.
Thats my Dad......luckily no back problems so far! haha
@@RFDSAX Hey man cool thing that your dad plays in this group, do you know if this is still an ongoing thing at Disney or if it has stopped. This vids got me into playing the saxophone and I would love to travel out and see them in person. Thanks!
TheCuven Unfortunately Disney let this group go in 2015....we are hoping they come back someday
@@RFDSAX Damn that sucks, also just checked out some of your vids and you're killin man! Hope everything works out for you! Thanks so much for the reply and have a good one!
TheCuven Thanks man! That means a lot! If you’re ever in Orlando lmk and let’s jam!
thats a small saxopone lol
@trigonda Better lip up, nobody likes a flat soprano :-p
