No it's just Disney is a shell of what if used to be. Disney used to represent tradition too, now it's just a guide for vacations, and modern moving on from the past mindsets. The fella playing the Bass saxophone is Scott Devlin, he is definitely alive.
I dunno man, if "walk around Disney world playing sax quintets of fun Disney songs on a giant bass sax" was a job listing, I'd pick that one every time.
I remember at Disneyland, they used to be dressed like the Keystone Cops, then went to the fireman uniform. I love these guys -true talent - nothing fake about this playing. Glad they haven't gotten rid of them. Thanks for posting!
I mean, seriously. Who goes to Disney for this kind of stuff? People go there for the rides and the people in suits. Not to mention the fireworks, where else can you get a pair of American Flag silk boxers? DISNEY WORLD!!!!
I play bari and bass sax, and all i can say is that i would not want to carry the bass sax around all day! it weighs about 45 pounds and even with a harness it is pretty heavy.
Man these guys are amazing their balance is great and they're just incredible! I wish they were over here at Disneyland, but we do have the Bayou Brass and the band that plays by the Fire Station on Main St. Not to mention the Dapper Dans, but these guy I'd love to see in person!
No. It's Jungle Book. And why should the play Tarzan right after Jungle Book? They're playing a medley of Jungle Book. Listen to the song ...It's the song of King Loui where he sings "...i wanna be like you-u-u..."
really cool! building on previous comments, how spiteful would that bass player be to the soprano (if it is a soprano) if the soprano player complained AT ALL!
I love these guys, unfortunately it looks like mister Bass sax , in the newer postings has a Selmer that wimps out the low notes. These older vids are the best, as the Older wrap and larger bore sounds better by far.
I was here in 1991 and they had a sax quartet play Donna Lee and it was some of the coolest shit i ever heard!!!
I wish Disney still had these guys. Everytime we go I look for them but I understand they've been gone for sometime. Love the videos.

...wow.
A tip of the hat to the boys, Terry Gilkyson and the Sherman brothers, and the arranger, whoever it may be.
Thanks!
why on earth are these guys playing at disneyland??? they could easily be up with the top sax ensembles. theyre playing is so tight.

Regardless of the difficulty of the parts, just imagine carrying the bass sax all day.
so fucking cool
Great!

Probably better then most musicians. Granted, i'm still trying to hack out a living as a writer, so I can't talk.
Sound like more like the style of Monsters Inc
the guy on the bass sax gave my band a workshop. he's so awesome
These guys are AWESOME
I carry a bari sax around all day and walk in parades on the norwegian national day, it's though :p
That was really good!
I would spend the whole day here listening to them
I doubt its as much as we all think but I am sure its a good living.
love the alto solo, great talents
Because it's obviously a hell of a gig. Think how much they get paid for that?
Probably scale per union. They do it for the love of the music.
theese guys are the most talented saxaphone players in the world they shuld never break up
love the bass sax, the bari with the bass really gives a solid baseline eh
Awesome!
Awesome!!
Very good arrengment of the song...
I play bari and bass sax, and all i can say is that i would not want to carry the bass sax around all day! it weighs about 45 pounds and even with a harness it is pretty heavy.
"gotta get to space/splash mountain!!!!" is what they are thinking
simply awesome!!
This makes me so freakin happy. I can NOT listen to this without smiling :D
this is amazing! i'm an alto player
why are they not famous?
@augpeh the bare necessities :D baloo sings it in the jungle book!
super bravissimi!!!!!!

Skiine, I've never been but, I wanna go now. And that"s exactly what I'd do.
Silly outfits, but serious musicianship.
Welcome old travelers. To the future. 2018!!!!!!!!!!
man, i've been, i never saw these guys, now that i have, i'll be going again, this is TOP NOTCH performance
Thats alot of memorization
well i march bari sax as well but bass sax is a different story.
they should sell cd's
SEMPLICEMENTE MERAVIGLIOSI !!!!!!!!!!!
I had a pass too, front of every single line.
yeah i can imagine :p
It's not that bad if you wear a harness
No. It's Jungle Book.

yikes, that's definitely not sing sing sing. it is awesome though
@chev39rsh There're new vids?
it's probably hardly even that, music is for love really...they might get paid 30 000/year if they worked full time
it is a curved soprano. :)
I believe it's a curved Sopranino actually. I could be wrong, but it definitely feels smaller than a curved soprano.
@@WitchKing-Of-Angmar It's a curved soprano. Curved sopranino would be even smaller.
its all not going to be finished until 2014 longer then a year and a half lol
I love these guys, unfortunately it looks like mister Bass sax , in the newer postings has a Selmer that wimps out the low notes.

@BinRandom it's not a soprano... It's like a Mizisso or something like that
is there also a movie of them doing hakuna matata? I would love to see that o.o
0:07-0:47
I'm getting so hyper at that song.
Who knows the title?
Great musicians, nice section blend and intonation!
@rocki4k Its soprano... I have one just like it (except black and gold)
It's a curved soprano I think
I can't stop smiling watching these guys! SAXES RULE!!! The rest of the band is just back up HAH!
You have to be burly to carry the bass sax. I play bari and have a neoprene harness and that gets heavy after 25 minutes
I just use a neck strap for my bari, and I'm using a harness for ma bass, but I don't find either heavy during long periods of time
Haha fuck the park xD These guys are the SHIT !
