Anna May Wong was so beautiful and talented. It is such a terrible shame that Hollywood did not give her the leading female roles that would have given her the fame that she so richly deserves. I love you Anna May Wong ❤❤❤❤
It was incredible that Japan became so aggressive and powerful in such a short time to conquer big China. I enjoyed seeing Anna May Wong. Mae Clark was also in this film. I remember her with James Cagney getting the grapefruit in the face and also her portrayal in the 1931 Waterloo Bridge from Universal.
Yowzers. This poor tattered (over-syndicated) film print has seen better days. It reminds me of all the old movies that used to run on those little commercial TV stations (in the 1960's & 70's) that served towns wayyy out in the boonies. Late at night, they would always torture their insomniac viewers by showing some of the most abused prints of such classic old movies like this one.There are so many white cue rings on this print it that I almost got hypnotized. Don't get me wrong... This Anna May Wong film is excellent and a classic. It's just sad that all the film breaks made it a bit too distracting to watch.

Part of what helped Japan was that China was also fighting a civil war between Nationalists & Communists.
