Apologies for the sound. We watched this FOREVER ago. Thought I posted it. 🤔

Worth it. Shameless plug/beg to watch 2 seasons (20 eps) of Patriot (amazon)

OK, I was going to comment on the trimmed up facial hair. Got any other older stuff to post at some point? Kevin Costner's No Way Out would have been a good one from a while ago.

20:33. 1 thing people are often confused about at the ending of the film is that because Cage/Cruise & J Squad launched their attack several hours BEFORE the entire surprise invasion took place, & Cage got covered in the Omega's blood he was able to regain the ability to rewind time 1 day again like when he got covered in the Alpha's blood. So, when he went back 1 day this time he ended up in the helicopter since that's where he was several hours before waking up in the military base, but because the Omega died all of the other Mimics died as well, so Cage was able to restart the day but the Mimics stayed dead. &, if Cage ever dies again he'll restart the day since he still has the Omega's power, unless he gets a blood transfusion again.

      @MrBellsa61 ปีที่แล้ว +6

One could also argue that if Cage wasn't there to absorb the Omega's blood it would have been able to restart the day

This one never gets old for me, it's so exciting. Oblivion is another great Tom Cruise sci-fi movie.

This movie was way better than I expected. Cruise was fantastic, but I think Blunt was his equal here.

"Bloody hell, it's the Full Metal Bitch!"
Fun Fact: The soldier that says this and is punched by Emily Blunt, is her real-life younger brother.
Historical Allegory Fact: The film was released in the U.S. on June 6, 2014, the 70th Anniversary of the D-Day invasion during World War II. The film shares many similarities to the attack on Normandy Beach. Uniquely, it premiered in two sequential events, designed to mirror the D-Day landings within the exact timeline of the historic event.
Lost In Adaptation Fact: In the movie, Rita appreciates having coffee at the farmhouse. This is a nod to her character in the book, who is a coffee lover and had been introduced to coffee at an early age by her coffee addict father. In the world of the book, where coffee growing has virtually ceased because of the Mimic invasion and people drink artificial substitutes, Rita still has some supplies of exotic real coffee beans and her only personal possession is a coffee grinder.

7:10. You skipped over an important line where 1 of the J Squad says "They're not even supposed to know that we're coming." After watching the entire movie, you understand this line differently. The Omega has the ability to rewind time 1 day when an Alpha dies, & they use their knowledge from the previous version of the day to fight off humans the next time they encounter them. Well, if you think about it, the very 1st time the humans launched their surprise attack on the Mimics, they probably almost won until 1 of the Alphas died, then the Omega restarted the day that 1st time. Ever since then, the humans were less & less successful at fighting the Mimics to the point where this to the Mimics could've been their 100th, their 500th, or even their 1,000th time fighting the humans, & the human invasion was soon failing as we saw at the beginning of the film. If Cage/Cruise hadn't killed the Alpha at that 1 moment then eventually the Mimics would have been able to reach a point where they could have beaten the humans so easily that no Alpha would've died & they would have won for good.

Do you think whatever happens Alpha always dies at that beach, same as Rose in the cabin, and close to Alpha mimiks saying to them “this is as far as you go, whatever we tried, you dying here. It’s Tom Cruise” 😊

I rarely watch reaction videos to movies except for this one. I have probably watched 50 of them. Some people edit the movie scenes where it is disjointed. They show setups but not the punch line and visa versa. You guys did it right. Your editing was on point. Nice job guys.

One of my favorite movies of the 2010s. Lot of great scenes in it but my favorite is that montage of Rita killing Cage and the drill sergeant calling him a maggot (9 years later and it makes me laugh)

This and Dredd are great sci-fi action movies that didn't do great at the box office and will never get the sequels they deserve.

16:30 There's a movie starring Nicholas Cage called 'Next' from 2007 that reminds me of that scene as well as this scene 13:21 though it's more he can see just a little bit into the future rather than actually doing the Groundhog day thing. It's one of Cage's decent films IMO.

Interesting that you said you liked the writing because this movie is one of those blockbusters where they started shooting before they have a completed script and were rewriting things on the fly. Behind the scenes is fascinating to watch because they talk about it a lot.

I really enjoy this movie. Love a good time loop story.
One thing you can count on in a Tom Cruise movie is he never dies. Or in this case, he doesn’t stay dead.

So couple things 1 this is probably my top 2-3 Cruise films and they are making a sequel or trying Tom is busy obviously. It wasn't a big $$$ maker mostly due to bad marketing as it kinda had push as "Edge Of Tomorrow" & "Live Die Repeat" in other markets it wasn't promoted the entire time as "Edge of Tomorrow: Live Die Repeat" I don't even remember trailers or anything for it I just happened to catch it on Demand or something originally.
It's based off a Japanese novel "All You Need Is Kill" so again another Hollywood whitewashing product 😂😂😂 I'm kidding even though it's true.
And Nance portrayed by Charlotte Riley who was the 1 other woman lol in the group of our smaller players is the wife of Tom Hardy.

The rock is abit to goofy for me 😂 + he don't have any "top tier classic blockbuster movies" where as tom cruise has many, Nobody remembers the rock movies 😂 they are all either crappy or average at best.
